Chapter 103 Coaxing the Granddaughter

Probably because the rice soup that was too thin was consumed faster, drinking porridge for dinner did not effectively prevent Qi Min from waking up hungry in the middle of the night. When she sat up from the bed, Anton was awakened by the movement.

"What, are you hungry?" Anton asked, rubbing his eyes.

Qi Min was a little embarrassed to ask him to get up in the middle of the night every day, so he said, "It's okay, I'll just eat a piece of candy."

"There's still some orange juice left for dinner, it's in the refrigerator." Anton got out of bed, opened the bedroom door and walked out.

Qi Min also followed her out. Her motor function has recovered quite well now, and she can get up and wander around in the middle of the night.

Two people made much more noise than one person, and they easily woke up Mimi who was sleeping on the small bed in the study. Mimi slipped out and ran over immediately when she saw Qi Min and Anton: "It's so dark, is it morning yet?"

"Shh-" Anton gestured to her to silence and whispered, "It's midnight now, Mimi, don't make any noise, it will wake up grandma and grandpa."

Mimi immediately covered her mouth, but still followed Qi Min and Anton. There was no other way, Anton went to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, took out the orange juice, and had to pour a glass for each of the two girls.

Qi Min drank orange juice, and his blood sugar finally rose, and he planned to go back to sleep. However, Mimi couldn't finish a whole glass of orange juice in a while, but she didn't want to give up. Instead, she pestered Qi Min to prevent her from leaving: "Mom, tell me a story..."

"Don't make trouble, Mimi, grandma and grandpa are still sleeping." Anton patted her little hand gently, "It's midnight now, everyone is sleeping."

"Then why did dad come out? Mom came out too?" Mimi asked.

"Uh... Mom is hungry. Come out and drink some orange juice." Anton explained.

"Mom doesn't eat well and wants to drink in the middle of the night. This is wrong." Mimi pointed out Qi Min's mistake "righteously".

Qi Min had no choice, but she always had a very good attitude towards her daughter: "Yes, mom is wrong. Mimi shouldn't imitate mom."

"Mom was wrong. I have to punish her to stand in the corner." Mimi said seriously.

It can be seen that the education in the private kindergarten that Mimi went to was really sloppy. Three or four-year-old children were required to make mistakes and stand in the corner.

But in a sense, it is actually a skill for those young teachers to control children through simple and crude methods. Qi Min is not very worried that Mimi will be bullied - given Mimi's character, as long as she doesn't bully others, she'll be fine.

But we can't let Qi Min really stand in the corner. It's just that Qi Min was very busy when he was studying for his Ph.D., and he didn't care much about Mimi's discipline and living habits at home. Therefore, he had always been kind to the little girl, and it was hard to refute him at this time. And Anton is the bad guy at home. It is also because of this that the little girl wants her mother to take her. Of course, the other reason is that Qi Min really spent less time with her in the past.

But this time Qi Min used a hint to Anton, meaning that it was time for him to "take care of" the little girl so that the peace in the middle of the night could be restored.

Anton understood and directly picked up Mimi by the collar and carried her out of the kitchen: "Mom doesn't have time to accompany you to mess around here. Mimi go back to sleep!"

As soon as he touched Mimi, the little girl naturally started to fake cry - this has become a routine. Anton didn't have any special method for this, it was really something that children couldn't tolerate.

However, it didn't matter if Mimi pretended to cry, she really woke up Ms. Zhu Shaoqiong and Mr. Qi Zhiguang. The old couple rushed out of the bedroom and saw this scene of their prospective son-in-law "bullying" their granddaughter, while their daughter was still watching with "enjoyment".

Mr. Qi Zhiguang quickly stepped forward to stop her. Upon seeing this, Anton immediately let the little girl go. Mimi turned around and hid behind Qi Min, as if the cause of the matter had nothing to do with her.

"What's going on with you? Are you up late at night beating your children?" Ms. Zhu Shaoqiong asked unhappily.

Anton was at a loss for words for a moment, but Qi Min's harsh words to his mother were true: "I just want to educate my daughter, what do you have to do with me? Go back to sleep!"

"Come on, where are you having convulsions?" Ever since she found out about Mimi's leg problem, Ms. Zhu Shaoqiong has been particularly sympathetic to the little girl. Regardless of whether she is her granddaughter or not, it is really pitiful to suffer at such a young age, " What’s wrong with Mimi, you have to pick up someone’s collar?”

She was embarrassed to scold Anton by name, so she could only scold Qi Min together. Moreover, Qi Min, as a mother, did not stop him, so there were still problems no matter how he said it.

Mimi saw that her grandma was protecting her, so she happily abandoned her mother and threw herself into her grandma's arms. Ms. Zhu Shaoqiong picked up the little girl who stumbled even when she ran. She ignored Qi Min and Anton and took the little girl back to the study: "Good Mimi, don't cry. Let's go back to sleep."

When Qi Min saw how affectionate he was, he easily solved the little girl's problem. Why didn't she think of it before? One is a bad guy and the other is a good guy, creating conflicts and then deflecting them. Isn't this just rhythm!

Ms. Zhu Shaoqiong coaxed Mimi to sleep. Qi Min yawned and felt that he could finally go back to sleep.

Just as she was about to leave, she was stopped by Mr. Qi Zhiguang: "Wait a minute, I have to talk to you about Mimi's problem."

Anton also stopped, but was dismissed by Mr. Qi Zhiguang: "You go back first."

Qi Min felt confused, but he sat back on the chair, poured the remaining orange juice that Mimi drank into his own cup and took a sip: "What's the matter, Dad?"

Mr. Qi Zhiguang saw that Anton had disappeared behind Qi Min's bedroom door, and then asked: "This boyfriend of yours...is he violent?"

"No..." Qi Min was surprised that her father would guess like this, "Isn't it just educating children? Is this normal?"

"Is there anyone who pulls out a little girl by her collar in the middle of the night to educate her?" Mr. Qi Zhiguang said disapprovingly, "Tell the truth, has he hit Mimi before? Has he ever fought with you?"

"No, how is that possible!" Qi Min immediately denied.

This is really a joke. Mimi was only one or two years old when Qi Min was still studying for his PhD. How could an adult hit a one or two year old child? Moreover, she and Anton were extremely busy at that time, so they had no time to fight.

Of course, with Anton's ability to empathize, it would be difficult for him to get into a fight with his partner. Qi Min is not very interested in starting a fight. Unless someone really provokes her, she may directly take the gun.

"Then what's the point of pulling the child out in the middle of the night?" Mr. Qi Zhiguang asked.

"Hey... I was hungry in the middle of the night, so I went out to drink orange juice, and then Mimi came out after she woke up..." Qi Min muttered and briefly explained, and then said, "Dad, don't look at Mimi. If you cry there, it’s all staged. But my mother’s trick is very effective. Someone sings a bad face, and then a red-faced one coaxes her away, hahaha.”

Mr. Qi Zhiguang didn't quite understand: "You came out to drink orange juice when you were hungry in the middle of the night. What does that have to do with you?"

"He has to pour it for me." Qi Min replied matter-of-factly.

"So what if Mimi comes out? Why do we have to 'educate' her?" Mr. Qi Zhiguang asked again.

"She doesn't want to go back to sleep when she wakes up in the middle of the night, so why don't we find a way to get her back?" Qi Min explained strangely.

"Then you just coaxed Mimi back and that's it. Why did that kid do something to my granddaughter?" Mr. Qi Zhiguang continued to ask.

Qi Min thought about it, and it seemed to be the case at first, but in fact Mimi didn't listen to her, and she also habitually refused to refuse Mimi, so she had to let Anton be the bad guy: "Usually Anton is in charge. It’s Mimi’s, there’s no use for me to go up at this time.”

Mr. Qi Zhiguang looked at his daughter. It sounded like his daughter was not doing anything. You don't even coax your own daughter, and you have to ask someone else to pour you a drink when she's hungry in the middle of the night. Does this mean you're being served thoroughly?

If other unrelated young people were left alone, Mr. Qi Zhiguang would probably think that this person is too lazy. But after all, she was his daughter, so he felt that Qi Min was quite lucky. Even if she didn't want to do anything, there would still be someone to take care of her.
