Bloodline Lord of War

Chapter 49: Unequal transactions (second update)

Chapter 49 Unequal Transactions (Second update)

Robin walked ahead and led Buck to the door of the wooden building.

Buck got off his horse and looked up at Robin's wooden building with an undisguised expression of disgust on his face.

   "You live here? Lord Robin."

Robin didn't take it seriously: "Yes, this is my home."

Buck nodded knowingly: "Yes, most of your pioneer lords are poor, so you can only live in this kind of house."

Entering the lobby of the wooden building, Robin and Buck sat down at both ends of the long table. Behind Robin stood Simon, Elsa, and Janna, and behind Buck stood ten of his knights. The crowd immediately crowded the not-so-spacious lobby to the brim.

Aisha's appearance is so outstanding, Buck's eyes naturally fell on her as soon as he entered the room, and he became even more jealous of Robin in his heart.

What a beautiful half-elf! This Robin is really lucky to have such a beauty under his command.

The old butler Homan was a little panicked. He had heard the name of Viscount Buck and knew that this nobleman was not an ordinary person. He had never received such a big man before.

Horman was worried about the clumsy highland maid, so he served Buck a glass of cold water himself, and said respectfully, "My lord, please take it slowly."

Buck sat in the chair like a nail in his ass, and everything in the house made him feel uncomfortable.

He looked down at the glass of cold boiled water in front of him, frowned dissatisfied, and raised his head to ask Robin across the long table: "What is this? Don't you even have a cup of hot tea here?"

Robin laughed: "Sorry, Mr. Viscount, I don't have any tea in this small place, so I usually drink this. Plain water is good for your health."

After finishing speaking, he picked up the cool white open on the table, and poured half a cup into it.

Buck suppressed the anger in his heart. It was the first time he was treated so rudely.

He stretched out his hand and pushed the glass of boiled water forward, as if the glass of water would make him feel uncomfortable just by appearing in his field of vision.

"Baron Robin, I don't like nonsense, so I'll just say it straight. I know you have an iron ore pit here, and I want to buy your iron ore."

Buck looked directly at Robin opposite him, with an indifferent expression, and went straight to the point when he spoke.

Robin got a little excited. He already knew that Buck was a big businessman, and big businessmen must buy in large quantities. Buying in large quantities means more gold coins!

The lord seems to have seen countless gold coins rushing towards him, and he is about to drown in the ocean of gold coins.

"Mr. Viscount, your news is very well-informed. So, how much iron ore do you want? In fact, I have just mined this iron ore not long ago, and the daily mining volume is not particularly large."

Robin rubbed his palms, feeling a little uneasy in his heart. He was worried that Buck wanted too much, and he would not be able to supply it here.

"No, no, Baron Robin, you misunderstood." But Buck waved his hand and corrected him. "I'm not going to buy your iron ore, I'm going to buy your entire mine."

Robin was taken aback for a moment, then a surprised expression appeared on his face, and he frowned: "You want to buy my mine?"

Buck raised his hand and snapped his fingers, and a knight behind him immediately brought up a wooden box and placed it on the long table.

Open the box, there is a box full of gold coins!

The golden gold exudes a seductive golden light, which can lure mortals to fall more than devils. How many people have thrown away their lives for it.

Robin stared straight at him. He had never seen so much gold before, and his eyes unconsciously shone with greed.

On the contrary, Simon and Aisha behind him were very calm. Highlanders have never been interested in gold and silverware, and they can't eat it, and they can't use it for fighting. It's boring!

The half-elves inherited the asceticism of the elves. Of course, they also know the benefits of money, but they don't pursue wealth like humans. They prefer works of art made of gold and silverware, and pure currency is too lacking in beauty.

Buck saw Robin's eyes open to money, and he couldn't help but be contemptuous: he was a poor lord in the wilderness, and he was fascinated by a little money.

"There are a total of 1,000 gold coins here. As long as you agree to transfer the mine to me, we will sign a transfer agreement, and then these gold coins will belong to you."

Buck had a smug smile on his face, and he felt that he had already won. But his words made Robin's enthusiasm cool down quickly.

The lord frowned and said, "Mr. Viscount, one thousand gold coins is really not a small amount, but if you want to buy my mine, this money is not enough."

Currently, iron ore is Robin's only stable source of income. The rapid development of the territory depends entirely on the income generated by iron ore.

Moreover, it is no exaggeration to say that iron ore is a strategic resource.

With iron ore, you can smelt iron. With iron, you can make farm tools, weapons and armor. With farm tools, you can reclaim wasteland, produce food and wealth, and with weapons and armor, you can arm the army.

There is a saying in the empire: As much iron as you have, you have as many troops as you have!

As far as Robin knows, iron mines, large and small, in the empire are basically controlled by nobles. Large iron mines are in the hands of big nobles, and small iron mines are in the hands of small nobles. Iron mines can even determine the rise and fall of a noble family.

Buck wants to buy such an important resource as iron ore for a thousand gold coins. This is fooling Robin for a fool.

Buck smiled. He crossed his legs and looked directly at Robin arrogantly: "Baron Robin, you don't seem to know me very well. Since you are just a pioneer lord, I can forgive your ignorance. Well, I can give you Tell me a little bit about who I am."

"I'm the owner of Barker's Firm. My firm is one of the largest firms in Silverfrost City. No one knows my name; I'm rich. If I want, I can buy ten dollars for a poor territory like yours. One; I have a deep relationship with the Golden Rose family, I think even if you are ignorant, you must have heard of the Duke of Golden Rose."

Robin did know the Golden Rose family. They were one of the largest families in the entire Northern Territory, and their power was almost equal to that of the Duke of Silver Frost City.

Barker said all this because he wanted to use his prominent status to put pressure on Robin to accept this unequal deal.

Robin had a cold face, quietly watching Buck bragging about himself there, and he even found it funny in his heart: What is your identity, how much money do you have, it's none of my business?

Finally, Buck said: "I have said so much, just want to tell you, I am a person of status, you'd better not offend me. Iron mine, I'm going to make a deal, I'm willing to give you a thousand gold coins, which has been given You respect it. If you don’t give it to me, you won’t be able to open this mine yourself.”

His tone was very domineering, almost ordering Robin, as if he was treating his own domestic slave.

"Are you threatening me? Dear Mr. Viscount." Robin's face darkened a little bit, and his mood sank into the valley.

He finally understood at this moment, this Buck is not here to do business, he is here to grab things!

Robin thought it was a big goldfish with a gold coin in its mouth, but it turned out that the other party was actually a greedy jackal, who came to grab food from him.

Buck shrugged, with a look of indifference: "It doesn't matter what you think, I just want this iron ore."

Robin laughed angrily. Now that he knew that the other party had no good intentions, Robin was not polite:

"Viscount Buck, you didn't even say hello, and you suddenly came to my territory. You are very rude. Even so, I gave you the greatest tolerance and respect, and you ended up talking nonsense in front of me?"

"I solemnly tell you that this iron mine is mine and was discovered on my territory. No one can take it away from me. If you want it, go dream it!"

"I think we have nothing to talk about." Robin raised his finger and pointed to the main entrance of the lobby.

After listening to Robin's words, Buck's face was very ugly. He said coldly, "Robin, I advise you to take back those rude words just now. You offended me. It will be very difficult for you to live in this wasteland."

Robin didn't want to talk nonsense with him anymore, and raised his chin: "Look at the shape of my mouth, get out!"

Buck sneered twice, he stood up, straightened the folds of his clothes gracefully, and said:

"Robin, do you know? I've seen people like you a lot. They either lose everything in the end, or kneel down and accept my conditions obediently. Let's wait and see, I'll come again next time, but Not even a thousand gold coins."
