Beyond the Boundary

꧁Chapter 4 ꧂

꧁???????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????꧂

I began following the deity who is leading me the way. I am very uncomfortable with the place. Every smell is unpleasant. Wild creatures are starting to devour the flesh of the dead soldiers. Fireflies are everywhere.

I grabbed a twig from the ground to support me from walking. Though I am able to withstand the pain now, I am still having trouble in walking.

The deity immediately stopped walking so am I. I looked everywhere, it seems like we have not walked that far because the same bodies are still lying on the ground. Or maybe, their faces are full of wounds, and bloods are everywhere so I could not identify which one was from before and which one was from now.

May these souls be rest in peace and their fate shall not turn into like this anymore in their next lives...

The deity in front of me pointed her hand to a specific person. This person is tied on a tree with two arrows pierced on his limbs. He is unconscious. His face is unseen due to his scattering hair around his face. He is still bleeding but he manage to breathe barely. His physique tells me that he is a little younger than these dead people.

His clothes are soaked in the blood, same as me. My heart began to ache for this person. He seems young. He should have a longer life. Why would these mortals who lust for power involve him?

He barely breathes and if I don't do anything, this man will die within a minute.

What should I do? I don't know anything!

"Help him." The deity beside me said.

My eyebrows furrowed. "How am I suppose to help him? Should I pray for him? Should I pray for you?" I replied without hesitation.

The deity looked at me in a serious manner. "I gave you all my powers. Therefore, there is nothing I can do, but only you can do something. What you are seeing right now is a projection of mine. Due to severe trauma and fears of yours, you managed to summon me. You were still unconscious but your magic will always be conscious." She replied.

My eyes widened from shock.

How am I suppose to help this man in front of me if I don't know any magic aside from harming someone else?

This doesn't make any sense.

If I could save him from a spell, that would do. But I only know the basics. Just the basics! Healing or curing someone goes to advance alchemy.

In my whole life as a royalty, the king disliked me, even my own mother, the Queen. They punish me for being talentless and for being unworthy for the throne. My intelligence would be nothing against Yeshua, because Yeshua has confidence and charms which I lack. Even riding a horse is difficult for me. Physical activities are extremely hard for me.

I don't know how to communicate with other nobles or aristocrats. all I know is reading some books all day or playing with my sword---that happened after I lost my memories.

If I had powers or a magic, that would be impossible for me to master because I know nothing. And if ever I would inherit a magical power, that would be a sin because I am not a biological daughter of a king or a duke. But since I am already adopted in this life, I can tell the world that I am allowed to use it unlike before.

But even if I became a talented person, I will also be punished because I would replace the true heir. So, my younger self believed that being plain would be better.

All I know is elegance and nothing more.

So I believed, if I make myself nothing special, that would satisfy me.

Either way, I will be punished. Why would I push myself to be better?

I am only living to be punished. When I was a noble, I was being punished. When I became a slave, I was punished either. When I became a Queen, I was punished also. Can this fate be changeable?

How would I save this man who will help me to change my fate if I only know the basics? Even a king is already having a hard time to let all his people live fair and equally. How about me who knows barely nothing at all? How would I save this man?

"Believe in your capability..." the deity said as if she was comforting me.

"How am I supposed to do that when I know almost nothing of the spells or your powers!" I replied hysterically.

She snapped her fingers and everything from my surrounding froze. D-Did she just stopped the time? I thought she does not have control of her powers anymore?

"Listen, dear mortal. Your will is always more important. You were given a second chance to change your fate because of your strong will, now do the same thing again." she held my shivering hands.

"He was the one who saved you." she added.

I wanted to slapped my face after hearing what she had said. She is probably telling the truth. If that's the case, then, it isn't the white cat who saved me?

If this was the person who really saved me... then, why do I have no memories of him saving me?

I need to find a way!

"You should start moving now. I cannot let the time freeze any longer..."

I immediately nodded at her. I took a deep sigh. My will is always important right?

I closed my eyes and opened them again.

I know exactly what to do. Whatever I am thinking right now, I am hoping that I would successfully help the person who saved me.

I am hoping what I am planning is right.

He granted my wish to be alive. Even if he is not a king, a person who learned sorcery at its greatest; he managed to save me. It must have been because of his will.

Since I already made a move to change my fate, it is now my turn to save him.

Even if it hurts and gives him pain, if this is the only way to save him, I must do it! I untied the rope and pulled the two arrows that was been pierced on his body away. I tore the sleeves of dress and cleansed it through a spell. I learned this spell when I was serving in the army in Coronia. I also took out my belt to support the cloth I've torn. I began dressing his wounds to stop the bleeding.

The depths of my heart is praying so hard to make this man live. He saved me, therefore, his karma should be good to him too.

I managed to get back all my senses. I heard different noises on my surroundings but I focused listening to a specific noise. This noise came from the water. It's a flowing river. There are some drops and waves of water. These water could help me to clean up his wound.

I am about to ask the deity beside me but she immediately vanished. Maybe that's because I am already conscious. Or maybe, she used up all of her powers so she vanished?

But I cannot rely on her. I need to rely on myself. Even if I am in the body of my younger self, that does guarantee that my way of thinking is the same. I can do better now.

I already learned how to be brave and to always find a way before. Sufferings, trials, and hardships made my heart stronger than it used to be. I can manage to save this man, I am willing to!

I need to rely on my own strength in this time. Now that I am alone and no one to lean on, I should be independent as I should be.

The wounds from my body does not hurt anymore. I can walk straightly without discomfort. Someone needs my help, I should not fail them. This person saved me before, I should return his help.

Gladly, there were tons of dead soldiers everywhere. My training as a warrior taught me that a warrior should carry some medical stuffs within them. These stuffs are a piece of cloth, bottles, potions and some herbs for their wound.

I know what I am doing is wrong, but I need to use them for someone who is still alive.

I walked towards the dead soldier and bowed my head. "May you reach the heavens above, and be at peace." I prayed.

I began searching for soldier's body and I successfully managed to get his medical kit. I went to the sounds of water. After successfully going there, I opened the empty bottle in my hand. I filled the bottle with water.

I immediately returned. The forest is indeed misleading, however, I managed to find the man who is barely alive because he is the only spot who doesn't have fireflies within him. That means, he is still not allowed to go afterlife yet.

I put my left hand on his forehead. I winced involuntarily. His temperature is extremely high as if he was having a fever in 2 times.

He is still unconscious but I can still hear the slow and low beating of his heart.

I sighed heavily and stared at him again.

If only I had been good in my classes and able to cast a spell without failures, I could have used my magic to heal him. If only I did not believe that I, myself, is good for nothing, then probably, I could have been saved him.

But no. I am not good in that field. Even in the other fields, I can make no better. I believed that I am always simple and plain. Nothing is special with me.

I poured the bottle of water to the cloth I've stolen from the dead soldier. It was cold, I smiled in pity. I brushed it against his burning forehead. The cloth immediately became warm.

I shook my head.

This is not right.

Gladly, my clothes are full of different layers. I began tearing some of them and soak it with the remaining water from the bottle. I cleaned some of his wounds and also put a wet cloth on his forehead to control his temperature.

I am hoping the the wild creatures would not bother us.

But, I am also hoping, I will be able to save him just like what he had done to me though everything is not clear to me yet.

????????????????????????❜???? ????????????????: To avoid confusion, I will summary today's chapter. Nathalia continued following the deity. The two of them finally found the person who will help Nathalia's fate to change into a better ones. Nahalia was surprised to know this person's existence. This person was once who save her when she is fighting against life and death in her first life. Now that she has been reborn and changed her fate, the consequences changed as well. It is her turn now to save the man who once saved her before. In addition, fireflies symbolizes as guidance to a person's way. Instead of butterflies, I written fireflies as the dead people's guide towards the afterlife. Since this is a fantasy story, and a different world, a person or a mortal who lives here will have several lives until they manage to have a good karma. Once they improved their karma into a better one, their next lives will be promoted as a royalty. If their karma becomes worse, they will become a slave. If their karma is at its perfection, then they will live as a deity in their next life.

So, if you are all wondering, why did Alyanna/Nathalia have three kinds of life? A noble, a royalty and a slave? Does that mean, her karma is unstable?
