Chapter 36: Those Who Dress Well Aren’t Good People

The husband she had gotten so easily had such a dazzling presence, naturally sparkling no matter where he stood. Just by standing there, he attracted the unconscious gazes of the people around him.

Not wanting to attract too much attention, Fang Chixia took a few steps over and pulled the car door open, before getting into the car.

“I’m done.”

Luo Yibei tilted his head slightly and glanced at her, his gaze resting on her luggage for a second before he got into the car after her.

“I want to go to the mall to buy some things first later. If it’s convenient for you, you can take me there! If it’s not, you can let me get off ahead and I can head over myself after,” Fang Chixia said after placing her small luggage down.

From the start to the end, Luo Yibei acted extremely coolly as he drove on his own accord. However, he still stopped the car when he passed by one of the larger shopping malls in the city.

His acting like this surprised Fang Chixia a little.

The two had hidden their marriage to begin with, so she hadn’t expected for him to come and fetch her from the university. She felt even more surprised that he was cooperating with her and didn’t mind coming with her to shop.

Fang Chixia’s impression of him improved several points.

However, within the next two seconds, who knew that he would take away those points again with his sharp words. “What, do you need my help to get out of the car?”

His words were filled with a thick layer of sarcasm as he took a few steps towards her, as if he wanted to carry her out in front of so many people.

Surprised, Fang Chixia shrunk into the corner in alarm as she dodged the hand he had reached out. Within the second, she rushed out from within the car. “I can do it myself.”

Passing him, she headed straight into the mall.

The upper floors of this shopping mall belonged to a departmental store while the lower floors were styled into a large-scale supermarket.

Fang Chixia walked around the mall with familiarity, pushing a large cart around as she looked around here and there. She then selected several items that Luo Yibei couldn’t comprehend and filled the entire cart in short order.

In her mind, Fang Chixia’s thoughts were focused on one point. Since Luo Yibei’s card was still with her, who cares! She was spending his money anyway.

Luo Yibei followed behind her slowly, watching her stand on her toes reaching for this and that before throwing them into the pushcart. His poker face twitched for a moment.

Actually, Fang Chixia wasn’t short. She was about 168cm tall, but the racks were a little tall and she wasn’t able to grab the item even after standing on her toes.

On the other hand, Luo Yibei simply watched her jump and jump about like a monkey, unable to grab the item no matter what.

However, it didn’t deter her at all. She simply rolled up her sleeves, as if wanting to continue trying to grab the item. Having had enough of the spectacle, Luo Yibei strode over within several steps and he reached the item at the top with apparent ease.

“Thank you.” Fang Chixia touched her nose awkwardly before she pushed the cart towards another area.

The two of them had indeed bought a little too much, yet he didn’t know why she had bought all of these. She had even gotten some paint.

When they finally paid at the cashier counter, her hands were filled with countless large and bulky bags.

Fang Chixia was rather petite to begin with, so it was a little tough for her to carry the load. However, when she was contrasted with the man she was walking with, whose hands were empty despite his long limbs, it looked like a story of a loving maid of the sort brought to life.

Many of the passing people also couldn’t resist the sight as they started to gossip while pointing at Luo Yibei. “Youngsters these days… how can they be like this?!”

“Look at how hard it is for that girl to carry those bags, yet he isn’t even helping.”

“Yeah! He dresses like a gentleman though!”

Luo Yibei’s black eyes darkened as he turned his head a little to the side, shooting a cold and sharp glare towards the group of passersby.

His gaze had always been really sharp, so when the people gossiping saw it, they froze and shut their mouths obediently.
