Alter Ego: His Sultry Lover

Chapter 59: Missing In Action

"So you are telling me that you haven't had a conversation with him after that hot and sizzling picture?" Lily asked, gaping. She refused to believe that the guy lost interest in her because of the picture. Her friend was one of the hottest people she knew and she had that man on his knees begging for her words. There was no way he wasn't into Katherine.

"I suppose he just wasn't that into me," she shrugged, but she felt the hurt inside. It had been four months since their last long conversation and nothing more than greetings and good wishes were sent to her or to him. Katherine had thought that she would slowly forget about this man she had met on the internet and life would go on. But it seemed that he was adamant to stay on her mind. Whenever she would start to forget, he would pop up in her messages casually asking her how she had been. After letting her know he was okay or that he was busy, he would retreat into his shell and not come back until later.

"What did he tell you?"

"Last?" she asked, perturbed.

"Yeah. Did he say why he was going out of radar?" Katherine nodded.

"He mentioned something about a work emergency and that he was being monitored." Lily frowned at the explanation.

"If he went so far as to tell you that and not completely ghost you… There might be truth to this fact. Maybe he is busy with work and genuinely doesn't have the time to get back to you." She shrugged. But Katherine was not easy to reassure.

"I don't know," she grumbled, looking at the television.

Angelina came into the room anxiously.

"My baby is going to explain everything today," she said, looking wildly at the television.

"Your baby? I demand to know what happened after you found out about the wedding on the news. Did you speak to him after that?" Katherine had been pretty out of it since that time, having faced the separation from RayKon53 freshly. She didn't know what to do, and knowing about Angelina and her bae made her sad so she avoided the topic.

"I speak to him from eight in the evening every night," she shrugged.

"And you have never asked him what happened? After he confirmed that he was Cage?" Lily waggled her brows.

"We have been sexting for some time and he is fabulous at turning me on. We spend the night talking to each other." Katherine turned to look at Angelina with interest. She was texting the kid? Was that even legal?

"I'm glad you're having fun," she said sourly. She missed her little chats, too.

"Why do you sound like you long to talk to my Cage? He'll come on the television soon enough, why don't you stare at it for some time so that you can have a taste. But don't look too much, I will be jealous otherwise."

"You don't need to worry. I admire the man intellectually. It's not like I am drooling over him all the time," Katherine rolled her eyes.

"It is a recent development. You don't drool over Cage Cavanaugh any longer. Should I be aware of who you are banging that you don't feel sexually frustrated when you look at him?" Angelina quirked her brow.

"I am pretty sure I am more attracted to his demeanor than his abs. Unlike you," Katherine snapped back. But there was a smile on her face. She wondered when it would be the right time to tell her friend about this mystery guy she had spoken to a few months ago. Was that even relevant anymore?

"I love his body. Sue me. I am a shallow slut, what can I say?" She smirked. "At least I have the potential of getting laid and make virtual babies with Cage Cavanaugh. Your ovaries are on the verge of collapse." The other stuck her tongue out.

"I will have you know that I have a lot of toys I use on a regular basis. I don't need to slut it up to be sexually satisfied. My mind is superior to yours and able to conjure graphic images that can get me off."

"I sometimes wonder why we are friends," Lily commented from the side, her face in a grimace. "You two are always bantering. Don't you get tired?" she groaned.

"Nope," they said in unison and fell into peals of laughter.

"Concentrate on the television. The interview is about to begin." She quirked her brow and the three of them put their attention back to the screen.

The show began and the host came into the screen. The camera focussed solely on him as he proceeded on to say the breaking news and monologue for the day.

"Damnit, where is Cage?" one of the three groaned. "They better not give him a five minute segment and call it an interview."

"I don't think the matter is so easy. He wouldn't have stayed quiet for so long if it were," Lily said in a low voice. She was the one most included in the entertainment industry, followed by Angelina, but she knew how the PR people worked. Cage had an excellent team, if her sources were correct, who would make sure that the damage was minimum.

Finally after fifteen minutes, the interviewer started again. This time, his expression was more serious than before.

"Our guest today has been at the center of a media storm until last week and in many ways over the last three to four months," he began. "He's caused ripples across the industry when he alleged that he was a victim of stalking."

They gasped in shock. They hadn't heard of this news before, it had never been published in the media. This was exclusive.

"This is the first time, in months, Cage Cavanaugh has come forward to answer our questions and quench our curiosity about the situation." They gripped onto the edge of their seat and leaned closer to the screen. "People are divided among who is right. As far as celeb battles go there has been nothing more intense than what has been going on in the last week."
