Age of Heroes

He said to the Lady of the lake,

'Lady of the Lake, why were you the one stationed here when the other Gods and Goddesses would not hesitate to do what you hesitated to do? The reason is because they also could not do it'

'They fear the fortune of fate upon my being. Fear that they would be swallowed by the tribulation that envelops them if they attacked me'

Even then from the words that is being uttered by this king, it shows how he did not even have a shred of respect toward the deities as he called them they and him in a casual language of the pure tongue

The King then explained the reason why he was giving the pointer to the Lady of the Lake

'The difference between you and them is the fact that they have no benevolent heart, exploiting those who pray to them and even set a rule of human sacrifice that angers the Heaven and Earth. But you were different'

'I heard from then human tribes living here, that there is a deity living in a secluded forest, guarding the lake and gives Her water to the starving animals and humans who were lost in it. And today, I am a witness to this testimony' Then the Human King ask the Lady of the lake

'Have you harm a human in your long life?' The Human King ask

And the Lady of the Lake replied.

'Only those who wanted to rob the lake and burn the forest' The Human King nodded and he said

'Then you have clean hands and you do not practice human sacrifice. These gods and goddesses wanted you to get involved in the tribulation. They send you to obstruct me, hoping that would get in conflict with me and then have the tribulation descend upon you. Since you are different from them and have allowed me to pass, a benevolent deity of the lake, I give you advice. These other deities are jealous of you' Saying this the human king then explain to the lady of the Lake of the matter.

The Lady of the Lake had never known that the schemes of the other deities is so deep and so convoluted. 

She had been in her lake for eons, guarding it since the first time this world had water and lakes. 

She did not go to war, she did not go out and mingle with the other deities. Faithfully guarding the lake, smiling in happiness when he sees the living beings of the world drinking from her lake and the water nourishing the forest.

Because of this, during the time of the First Generation, she no longer participate in any of the deities gathering. 

And as she knows of her advantages, she had never attacked humans or living beings unless they tried to attack her lake and the forest which is a source of life for the living beings around it.

She did not want to enter the tribulation. But that day changes everything for that Lady of the Lake and the fate of the world.

Astiel told him a fact that render Elkar speechless.

The guardian of the Lake fell in love with the mortal king. This is not recorded in the lore but something Astiel had told him.

The reason is because she admires the human intelligence and his confidence. To Amara, the human was very peculiar. 

He is unlike any other humans that Amara had seen before

Most of the humans She had seen were all fearful in front of deities. They would tremble and kneel and prostrate themselves in fear or awe

But, there is no such thing in the eyes of that mortal King. 

He stares straight at the Gods and laughed at them, carefree and fearless, like there is nothing in Heaven and Earth that could restrain his heart.

And when the mortal King told him the scheme of the other deities against Her, she was grateful; and slowly this feeling grew to be something more, a feeling that none of the deities before Her had ever felt before.

And how did Elkar knows this? 

Astiel told him that this is the emotion that Amara had fleet when she reminisces about that mortal king.

Amara right now is imprisoned and chained on the Godstree. While Astiel could not kill her he could devise a method to try to see her thoughts and emotions.

Some memories are seen by Astiel and these are the few of them. Astiel said he knew that Amara falls in love with that mortal. 

Those divine being that still live from that Age all knows that Amara falls in love with a mortal

But what they didn't know was her reason for falling in love with a human

From the stories Astiel told him, Elkar then understood what causes the end of the Age of the Gods

It is the love that the Lady of the Lake have for the Human King that one day would trigger the twilight of the Gods. 

When she realizes that she fell in love with the human, the Human King had died. 

For a deity like her, even when she was thinking and trying to sort out her feelings, it would take a long time

But for humans, even decades are a long time since they do not possess great longevity.

She grieved at the death of Her beloved and as a tribute to love, she protects his lineage from the shadows, blessing them with good luck and fortune.

Generations after generations, Her blessing remains upon the descendant of that Human King

Then on one fateful day, one of the descendant of that human king was afflicted with a poison that have no cure.

She revealed herself to that human king descendant which is one of the Emperor of the Enochian Empire.

She gave the Emperor her blood and transfuse it into that Emperor bloodstream. 

That was when the prophecy is set in stone. It gave the descendant of that mortal king a peculiar trait.

Astiel did not tell him what it was and Elkar at the time was very engrossed in the story of the end of the Age of the Gods

The prophecy had spoken

The Blood of Light lineage will dawn,

By the decision of one of your brethren,

As their blood will dictate the course of this world.

The other part of the prophecy had all come to pass. The Avenging race had come. But at that time, the Blood of Light lineage did not yet appear.

But with the decision of the Lady of the Lake, there is now a lineage of humans with divine blood in their body, making them half divine

Their blood will dictate the course of the world simply means that their lineage will dictate the course of the world

At that time, the lineage of that blood was the lineage of Emperors and Kings and Queens. It was not wrong to say that their blood dictates the course of the world.

And each of the descendant of that Emperor since that time possess at least one of the traits of the Lady of the Lake.

They were brave. 

Loyal. 

Full of compassion. 

Blessed with strength. And above all else, the trait that the Lady of the Lake encourage the most and favoured the most, is love.

Of course all of these traits did not mean that it would be all given 

Sometimes one had the strength but not the bravery. Sometimes, they have the bravery but not the strength. 

But, there is also the rare case where one person possesses all of this trait.

One such person is Levitia. And this is where it goes full circle. This is how Elkar knows the origin of Levitia. 

One of the secrets that the Church had tried to hide was the lineage of Levitia which is not only noble but also divine.

Even during that time period of the golden age of the Enochian Empire, the gods schemed against each other. 

And when they found out that one of the mortal Emperor was given divine blood, some of them understood the implication it had for the twilight of the Gods.

They then united with each other to attack the mortal Empire. The mortal empire did not bow and instead fight against the Gods.

This was not an era like today. This was an era of high magic, where men could fly toward the sky, control lightning and thunder and craft magical weapons that could vaporize hills and mountains.

This is another part of history that the world doesn't know. Only the Enochian Empire at that time possess this kind of power.

They inherited the First Generation knowledge of using the magical shard to craft weapons and amplify their magic so that they could contest with the Divine.

Gods and mortal clash above the skies, their anger affects the Heaven and shock the ground

Blood of divine being strewn down the skies and falls down toward the world in a rain of golden blood.

But as there is many divine beings that was killed, even more of heroes of the humans at that time was killed and in the end, they lose the war.
