Age of Heroes

The waves hits hard the below deck. The two people on the below deck, on one of the stockades, one of them was nervous; the other was uncaring, shackles in their hands and feet.

The man looks outside from the stockade in the ships and sighed but his face shows that even in this situation he is calm and unnerve by his dire situation. 

The woman beside him on the other hand is closing her eyes, sitting cross legged not paying attention to the turbulent weather.

Behind the red skull and rose pirate flag is hundreds of galley following the main ship from behind. 

A hundred and sixty-six feet long, eighteen feet wide, narrow, slender, and scarcely rising above the level of the sea, she resembled an immense rain dragons, sleeping in the midst of the waves. 

In front of the parallelogram which constituted the body of the galley, was scarfed a sharp and projecting dragon-head, six feet in length.

The timbers are strong, the sails are tough and brightly colored, unbleached by the sun.

Up in the air, the seagull skimmed the waves against the wind, seemingly without effort, oftentimes flying a mile without a single wing-beat, gracefully swaying side from side, following the ship and sometimes diving down for fish.

It is life in the vast oceans. It is the Grand Ages of the Pirates. And it is a grand life for the Pirates of Azure Dragon.

And Rhyssa and Mikael are in the jail of the Azure Dragon crew.

Rhyssa could still vaguely remember what happened before. She was winning the battle and has injured the Tainted Rose Yang heavily but she was poisoned.

Unlike Arial who has almost nigh invincibility when confronted with poisons, Rhyssa is not. 

But even under the influence of the poisons many of the Azure Dragon crew's member who try to apprehend her were slashed to death.

Mikael arrived at the last minute trying to save Rhyssa only to be attacked by the Vice Captain of Azure Dragon, Yue Mingyue.

For a moment they battle. 

Mikael was not an expert in martial arts but he did have magic. Using the wind to create blade like cyclones, Mikael inflicted damages to many of the crews and sank a few ship of the Azure Dragon crew. 

But Azure Dragon crew overwhelmed Mikael with numbers and the insistence of Mikael to not kill anyone may play in part on why he is captured.

Rhyssa does not hesitate to slash anyone in her way, and she killed quite a few people before she go down, but Mikael, while he did injured the pirates, he did not kill even one of them and finally he was too exhausted to conjure up mana and was captured.

They were both then thrown inside the stockades and the Azure Dragon crew quickly sails away before the city Port expert takes any actions.

By the end of their battle the port was badly destroyed and many ships were sank by the impact of their fighting. 

One could say, they were like Gods raging making the Port of Ana Maria bears the consequences.

But Yang Guifei did not execute Rhyssa or even killed Mikael who she cursed so much. 

She wanted to be the one who killed Mikael with her own hands, to taste his blood on her throats so she dumped them both inside the jail, while she recuperates.

So, Rhyssa is right now using her internal energy to expel the poisons from her body.

She has managed to expel 1/3 of the poisons from her internal organs; black blood can be seen around her, spurt out from her mouth every fifteen minutes.

When she has successfully extracts all the poisons from her body, there will be hell to pay

If it was anyone else, they surely would have been exhausted by now, but Rhyssa could still persevere. 

Even though sweat is trickling on her forehead, she did not stop, maintaining her determination.

She was too careless. If it spreads, that she, the disciple of Eastern Devil is beaten using poison how could she have face roaming Jianghu again?

Batrisya would laugh at her.

She only hopes that her teacher wouldn't punish her. 

These past few years, after her teacher defeat on the Heaven Peak, he has isolated himself in the Island thinking of a technique that neutralize contain Celestial Emperor Technique if they ever were to clash again

His defeat on the Heaven Peak has shown there are higher peak to aspire to. 

'Yo, what are you doing?' a man voice said as Rhyssa leaves her meditative states. 

Looking at the man there is only annoyance in her face. If not for him she would not be like this and she would be sailing to the New World by now.

The man was Mikael, smiling like there is no care in the world, his hand bound by Erna shackles, which disrupt mana from channeling.

This is the fundamental difference between internal energy that martial artist used and man that magician used.

Internal energy could not be cut off by items, only by killing or destroying the center of energy.

And even then, if anyone could learn medicine to the highest level there are ways of repairing meridian channels and energy cores inside someone body. 

Mana could be blocked by variety of reasons. Erna shackles interrupt the state of the mind of the magician and many others.

But magicians, or at least the magicians of the past was reputed to be very powerful that they could make a sea of flame and a mountain of knives to appears using only their mana.

'What does it seem like I'm doing? I was meditating and thinking how to escape this ship!' she said almost yelling at Mikael who acted like none of this is his problem.

'Why didn't you scream that louder? I don't think they heard' Mikael said smirking.

'You!'

'Ah, don't worry. I have a plan.' He said calmly

'A plan huh? Trust you to come up with a plan, next time we will end up in the bottom of the sea.'

Then suddenly Rhyssa heard people coming down to the deck and she could see a huge man with a saber at his right hips coming to their cell.

He looked at Rhyssa with apprehension and he hold his saber and then open the cell and pointed the saber at her.

'Any weird moves I kill the demonkind' he said.

'Kill him' she wanted to say but she holds her tongue.

'Yuhuan wanted to see us?' Mikael said, looking at the pirate, like he is looking at an old friend.

'Calling our captain by her name is disrespectful, Mikael'

'Come on, Sang Rama Vijaya. We were friends once.' The pirate creased his eyebrows. From the looks of it, he doesn't like being called his full name and Mikael knows this.

'If not for Captain Yang I would have died back in the Western Seas chased by Rajendra Chola armies.' The man said, looking at Mikael like he wanted Mikael to understand.

Mikael just nodded in understanding. But then he said

'Do you conveniently forget that it was I that recommend you to her? You know that my relationship with her is complicated.'

Vijaya bitterly smiles.

'Well, since she is ordering your death….walking the plank for the girl, slashed by a thousand cuts for you, I think it is safe to say that it is no longer that complicated.

Mikael smiles even when he heard what Yang Guifei planned for him. Then he said to Vijaya

'Want to bet like old times, old friend?' he said. Rhyssa on the other hand inched closer but Vijaya then once again raised his saber and pointed it at Mikael.

Rhysa stopped and then Vijaya look at Mikael again and alternate his glances between Mikael and Rhyssa.

The man looked anxiously at Rhyssa. Clearly, even though he is talking with Mikael he did not lower his guard by one bit.

He still remembers what this harmless beauty has done to his fellow pirates. She was truly like a raging hurricane in the battle before, unstoppable and violent.

The guards are also outside ready to spring into action if Rhyssa rise to any suspicious movements.

Their captain is heavily injured right now and no one dare cripple the woman martial arts.

Even when she is poisoned she still poses a threat. Normal pirates could not do anything to her. 

But Yang Guifei is not someone who would wait until Rhyssa recover from the poison.

Before that happen she will feed Rhysa to the shark.

The man look at Rhysa and then turn back to look at Mikael, looking at his disarming smile and said.

'What bet?'

'I bet you 50 gold that Yuhuan would not bear to kill me and she would even release this beautiful young woman from her punishment'

'HAHAHAHA' Vijaya laughed hard which is joined by the guards outside the jail who cracked listening to the content of the bet.

Everyone knows that Yang Yuhuan is not a merciful woman and what she says goes and he bêtes that he, Mikael who has hurt Yuhuan so terribly would get a pardon. 

Many men dies for a lot less and Mikael who knew and was trusted by Yuhuan even betrays her; it is already a done deal that he would die today.

'It is pointless of betting with a dead man but this might prove to be interesting. It's a deal.'

'The usual, alright?' Mikael said and Vijaya nodded.
