Ch24.1 - Blood contract (1).

Note: Author used the word ‘cocoon’ once only(in the last chap). Perhaps it waved like cocoon into an eggshell. Anyway, this chapter was splitted into 2 parts due to the excessive length (3 in 1). There is also a mild NSFW warning in the middle of chapter.

“This is…”

It all happened so suddenly. Before anyone could recover, there was a round, white egg in front of them.

A zerg hesitated and said: “Is this a metamorphosis?”

Everyone looked at each other with doubtful looks on their faces—such a situation was simply too strange, they had never heard of a male returning to his egg state during metamorphosis!

Under normal circumstances, immature males would fall into high fever during metamorphosis. The higher the male’s level was, the longer the fever lasted. But during that period of time, the male would lose consciousness. It could be said that that was the most vulnerable period in each male’s life. As such, several females were needed to guard and deal with possible crises that may pop up at any time.

But what was going on?

A zerg broke the silence first. He said: “I learned in my ancient history course that this often happened to the ancestors of the zerg, but it was tens of thousands of years ago. At that time, zerg -”

“—Shut up. ”

The military female standing at his side interrupted him with a grim expression on his face: “Perhaps this is just an isolated case.”

It was only a few words, but everyone understood the meaning.

Tens of thousands of years ago, the zergs were not as powerful as they were now. Their ancestors were just a small and weak race that could be seen everywhere. Only by relying on their strong reproductive ability could they evade extinction.

Today’s zerg race had evolved to be very nearly the opposite of what they once were, and was no longer the same as its ancestors.

Just how weak was the male for him to revert to atavism during his metamorphosis? It wasn’t possible that the machine…… had made a mistake when grading him. He was not even a D, was he?

The comment stream in the live broadcasting room had already exploded without minding the military female’s words:

[LOL, this is the first time I’ve ever seen such a lowly male!]

[And he wanted to compete with Song Jianshu for the legion commander even though he was this weak?]

[But he also beat Song Jianshu before, remember? What happened?]

[He must have cheated! There are many ways to do so now. Even if you couldn’t find out how, it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.]

Song Jianshu’s expression changed slightly.

After coming to this world, various phenomena had proved a certain argument again and again: He was the protagonist of this world.

The original’s disfigured face, after metamorphosis, regained its original handsome beauty; the female slave, who had been casually saved out of compassion, was actually a powerful military female in distress; even the most unpredictable Commander of the Third Legion looked sideways for him……

If he wasn’t the protagonist, who was?

But that self-confidence was faintly shaken after the male named Lu Mo had appeared.

At that time, when he was hit by Lu Mo’s punch, the first thing he felt was not pain, but an incredible absurdity: He, who had always been invincible in battle, had lost?

And then, from there, it had been a step-by-step defeat: Losing all his possessions, losing his residence permit for the Imperial Capital, and even losing Ling.

Song Jianshu had come here not only for Ling, but also to prove that he was the only protagonist! He absolutely refused to go back to being the miserable person he was in his previous life again.……

And now, he had found the evidence.

“I’m sorry, maybe I caused all this,” Song Jianshu lowered his eyes, his face full of guilt. “I just wanted to bring Ling back, but I forgot to take care of his(LM) self-esteem. His grade must have been a thorn in his heart, and I just irritated him.”

He was frustrated. His soft black hair fell close to his cheek. His puppy-dog eyes were drooping, and the corners of his eyes were faintly reddish.

Such an appearance instantly attracted the attention of all watching the livestream.

[Ah ah ah ah he is so cute!]

[It’s not your fault, you’re not wrong at all!]

[Give me a hug wuwuwu, he’s really good…]

“I think I have to do something to make up for my mistakes.” Song Jianshu anxiously fidgeted with his fingertips and walked towards the quiet, round and white egg on the ground.

Watching this scene, everyone couldn’t help sighing.

They hadn’t expected that Song Jianshu would continue fighting for Ling even until then. Though they were unhappy with Song Jianshu’s previous actions, in any case, the commander and him had spent several years together. Ultimately, it was Lu Mo that had suddenly come between them.

His black hair fell into disarray, covering the darkness in his eyes.

Although the situation was already obvious, – that the other was a male so weak, he developed atavism – somewhere within his heart was persistently clamoring with anxiety. He constantly felt that there was something wrong, and he had to confirm it in person.

Assuming it was indeed the last thing he wanted to do, towards Lu Mo, all he could do was say sorry.

Song Jianshu gritted his teeth as his five open fingers slowly approached the fragile eggshell.

In that moment, his heartbeat was jumping about uncontrollably. He felt as if he had grasped the key. Perhaps this was the only chance he had left!

The corner of Song Jianshu’s mouth hooked up, his right hand forcefully pressing towards the white eggshell—

At that critical moment, a hand appeared in the air, grabbing hold of his wrist and obstructing his actions!

“Mr. Song, your heart is beating quite fast.”

The blond female wore a dark black military uniform and his blue eyes curved in a smile. He looked softer than most other military females, and his smile was even more sunny and lively: “Are you nervous?”

Song Jianshu recognized that the female was Ling’s only adjutant. In the past, he had always squatted behind documents as high as a hill with a sad face. He(SJ) thought he was just a sidekick. Yet now, Song Jianshu felt an intense pressure coming from him.

Although he was smiling, his eyes were similar to a sharp scalpel, practically piercing into Song Jianshu’s bones.

“A little,” Song Jianshu replied with a gentle smile as he quietly twisted his wrist. “It’s the first time I’ve ever encountered this kind of situation, after all.”

He couldn’t pull back his wrist.

“Since this is a first encounter for you, don’t act rashly.” The adjutant exerted a slight amount of force and yanked Song Jianshu up from the ground, winking at him, “The third legion commander is notoriously petty. If you accidentally injure his male, it will be troublesome.”

“When that time comes, no one would be able to protect you, even if you are an A-grade male.”

Song Jianshu’s wrist trembled slightly. He reluctantly smiled and said: “Thank you for reminding me.”

The adjutant took him by the shoulders and led Song Jianshu outside, “It’s better for us to wait outside and see what happens.”

His movements seemed intimate, but in reality they carried an irresistible force. Song Jianshu could only go along with him, secretly resenting him in his heart.

There was no telling what would happen if he missed this opportunity!

【Inside the eggshell】

Ling half-crouched in the eggshell, one arm around Lu Mo, the other holding his long dagger across his chest.

It wasn’t until Song Jianshu was taken away that he slowly lowered the dagger.

The egg’s shell seemed to be constructed out of mental power, as the inside could not be seen from the outside, but from the inside looking outward, all was as clear as if one was looking through a layer of glass.

Song Jianshu might not know that his face had been captured by Ling in all its glory, including the hidden calculations and killing intent.

If Song Jianshu dared to make a move, he would have been stabbed through the chest by Ling’s dagger the moment he touched the ‘eggshell’.

It was a pity that Song Jianshu was an A-grade male after all, and that killing him would cause a lot of trouble. If it weren’t for that, he would have been–mm——

Ling’s eyes widened slightly, and his body stiffened.

The male was like a small stove. The high heat made him lean powerlessly into Ling’s arms, sweat on his face. It also made him groan and struggle disorderly.

After moving his head back and forth, the tip of the male’s nose accidentally bumped onto Ling’s chest.

“Mmh….”

The male pressed his hot cheeks helplessly against Ling’s chest, his exhaled breath swirling in the narrow space, and his soft lips brushing against one of  Ling’s bare cherries.

Ling sat stiffly on his knees, only separated from the outside world by a layer of transparent eggshell. His familiar subordinates formed a circle not far away, their eyes full of worry and focused entirely on them.

Anyway, it was too……

The legion commander who had always kept calm; who had not before been affected by anything; who seemed to have nothing that could cause him to have the slightest emotional fluctuation, felt embarrassed at that moment.

Unbelievable. A word that never seemed to have been associated with him, had come out of nowhere.

Ling tugged on the male’s collar, pulling him a little further away from himself. The male opened his dazed eyes, of which contained a surprising amount of pitifulness.

“Ling.”

Ling looked at him blankly.

The corner of the male’s mouth curled down: “I feel uncomfortable. ”

Ling’s eyes wavered a little.

The male’s head nodded bit by bit, as if he was sleepy, and his voice followed in a blur: “My heart is beating so fast.”

“When I see you, my heart beats very fast…”

The male cocked his head, his hot cheek pressing right against the back of Ling’s cool hand, “Am I sick?”

He’s really confused, Ling thought. If it had been as normal, Lu Mo would not have been so well-behaved. He would have glared at him and said, “You lecherous, slutty female, to actually take this opportunity to come near me—but I am a kind and generous male after all, so I won’t care about your offense, but only just this once.”

But once Ling left in a disciplined manner, Lu Mo would grab his hand even more irritably: “Since you want to get close to me so much, I will mercifully allow your request. Males like me are really rare. You should be grateful.”

It was the first time Ling had seen such a – well behaved and clingy – Lu Mo.

He held Lu Mo’s collar with one hand and put the back of his free left hand against his nose, narrowing his eyes as he examined Lu Mo.

In the narrow space, the damp smell of rain was mixed with the breath of blood and rust. Lu Mo shook his head, glanced at Ling cautiously, and whispered, “I…”

Ling blinked: “What?”

A few words popped out of Lu Mo’s lips quickly: “I seem to be growing a tail.”

Ling’s mouth fell open in surprise. After a moment, he came to understand. Suddenly, a hot feeling surged on his face. He could hardly restrain a deep breath before he could resist the urge to run away.

—Hell, he actually felt like running away!

“That’s not your tail,” Ling explained with difficulty. “You‘re…  just developing a stinger.”

He was in despair to find that he couldn’t say those words to Lu Mo smoothly. When he stepped on the stinger-ed tails of those males in the past, he had never thought that he would have such a day.

When Lu Mo asked him, “Stinger, what is that?” That unparalleled sense of despair reached its peak.

“Well, I’ll teach you,” Ling dropped his left hand and cleared his somewhat dry throat,

“The female monarch rules don’t say anything about this ……”

Yet his slightly flushed cheeks gave away one thing: He didn’t really seem to reject it.

But Lu Mo didn’t know anything about Ling’s current situation. He just felt like an ice cream in the hot summer; like he was about to melt away.

As soon as Ling let go, he fell straight forward, burying his face in his female monarch’s arms.

The scent of blood and rust became stronger, only now it was mixed with a warm temperature and enveloped him.

Through the thick material of his uniform, he could feel the female monarch’s breathing turn slightly sharper. Making that realization, Lu Mo’s now chaotic brain, although he didn’t know what was going on, instinctively clenched his fists, his heart beating faster as well.

He looked down and saw the female’s white-gloved hands, a thin bracelet gleaming on his wrists.

Those hands were long and slender, now slightly shaking as they unfastened the intricately constructed buttons one by one under his gaze.

Under the uniform was a clean shirt. The thin material outlined the slender and tight waistline of the female. Lu Mo really had no strength, so he flipped his posture and laid on the female monarch’s leg.

Ling’s slender hands were placed hesitantly on the buttons of his shirt, his eyes flickering as he couldn’t find a pivot point, nevertheless his ears were bright red.

Disgruntled, Lu Mo stretched out his hands and cupped Ling’s cheeks, pulling them downward.

Ling was forced to lower his head. For the first time, Lu Mo saw him like this–it was as if he was being pushed step by step. He obviously wanted to escape, but was forcing himself to stay put, appearing as if he would jump up at any moment.

Lu Mo’s heart was itchy, and his teeth were also itchy. He tried to speak more clearly: “A lot… a lot… are watching us.”

At that moment, Ling’s pupil shrank to the size of the tip of a needle. His whole being looked at Lu Mo rigidly, leaving only his Adam’s apple rolling up and down.

Lu Mo smiled in a daze: “What are we doing here?”

Ling finished his movements slowly and with difficulty, but when Ling went to take off his gloves, Lu Mo grabbed his hand: “Wear them.”

Lu Mo always felt that Ling was more like an elegant nobleman. His hands were more suitable for wearing gloves than holding weapons.

Ling glanced at him quietly.

Lu Mo: “What’s the matter?”

Ling spat out a breath, “ Born ...... bad, kind,” as he said the last two words, he reached out and covered Lu Mo’s eyes.

The silky fabric blocked out the light, but made his other senses sharper.

After a bit of cloth rustling about, Lu Mo couldn’t hear any more movement. He couldn’t help asking, “Ling?”

“Master.”

Ling’s voice rang in his ears, full of some strong emotion: “Please ……”

The next moment, Ling sat down.

MILD NSFW WARNING.

……….

Lu Mo had one foot in heaven and the other in hell.

There was a fire that swam through his body, unable to find a way out, but the place close to Ling was very comfortable.

The little rain in Tian Street was as moist as cream.

His female monarch’s voice was suppressed and broken, and the hand covering his eyes trembled slightly, but stubbornly refused to let go.

Those two diametrically opposed feelings were constantly accumulating, and Lu Mo only felt as if he were being split into two, barely able to think. The only thing he knew was that he was going crazy.

He couldn’t laugh if he wanted to, and couldn’t cry even if he wanted to.

He struggled, as if he was almost venting, but he didn’t know where he had touched it, and the voice Ling had been painstakingly suppressing leaked out in one long sound.

Lu Mo froze for a moment, and Ling too was awfully quiet.

In that moment, some mischievously bad intentions rooted within the male’s blood were hopelessly seized.

Lu Mo followed the angle in his memory and lightly touched Ling.

“Mm—Don’t—”

Ling’s voice was terribly hoarse, but the male didn’t intend to let him go. He was trembling, but his body, which had never fallen even after seven days of bloodshed on the battlefield, had become completely vulnerable.

“Lu, Lu Mo!”

Lu Mo slammed brutally, and Ling’s voice came to an abrupt halt. There was no movement.

……What was the matter?

He was a little afraid. He grabbed Ling’s hand, gently pushed it. The hand fell. When he realized the scene in front of him, his whole person was frozen.

Ling’s silver hair curled all over the ground, his beautiful red eyes were gazing at him blankly, his snow-white skin was tinged with red. He looked ——

Broken and ruined.

It was then that the fire that had been unable to find a way out of himself finally accumulated all its strength and burst out.

With a piercing sound, a ferocious white, bone tail with a curved stinger plunged into the female monarch’s collarbone!

Blood gurgled down the stinger, soaking the tail in red.

Ancient stirrings echoed within the both of them at the same time.

【You are my chain.】

【I am also your cage.】

【Sworn by blood, this is a contract that will never be broken, unless by death, unless by annihilation.】

Somewhere, there was an invisible connection that lied between the two.

From then on, they would share wealth, power and even life.

This is the blood contract.
