Calderan Supervolcano

At one time, the Calderan Mountains were calderan volcanoes. It is not a single mountain, but a huge supervolcanic volcano whose entire mountain range is a volcano.

Although it has been a dormant volcano for many years, the volcano has not yet died. It just wasn’t time to wake up. That day would have come tens of thousands of years later.

Curl!

If it hadn’t been for the immortals who discovered the lava to dig into the mountain as if they were having fun.

It would have been if it had not been for giant monsters hundreds of meters tall, digging up the earth, absorbing geothermal heat, and splashing out of lava, stimulating geological activity.

Cuckoo bang!

When the immortal algae dug deep into the mountain range in search of lava and geothermal heat, the energy it collided with the ground was converted into heat, shaking, and sound and spread in all directions. The impact occurred on the surface, and the source of the shaking was the surface, not deep underground, as are the epicenters of earthquakes.

Therefore, the moment the monster crashed into the ground, the ground rose and turned over like a wave, and everything on it did not survive. The terrain of the mountain range shook, and the things inside it were stimulated and the pressure started to rise, but that was only the beginning.

The bird, hundreds of meters in length, began to dig deep into the lava in search of a hotter place. It began to sink deep, deep, greedy for thermal energy.

As the monster swam through the magma and enjoyed swimming, the magma deep underground began to rise due to fluctuations. While drawing in and absorbing thermal energy from the depths of the earth, the leaked heat stimulated the nearby lava, causing it to boil.

Power that would have already exploded in a normal volcano continues to condense and clump together. However, this is the Calderan Supervolcano, where the entire mountain range is volcanic.

So for now, nothing happened except the earth trembled, aftershocks occurred, and smoke rose a little. But that alone shook the whole republic.

The Citadel Republic was so small that it was close to a city-state, so the capital and the volcano were very close. If something really goes wrong, it will all be over before you can even run away.

Two experts in earth magic, Thomas William and Andrew Gilbert, were dispatched from Vales City, the capital of the Republic. They were terrified to learn that a large bird was roaming the depths of the earth through the use of undersea magic used to explore the veins.

“Hey, what the hell is this?”

“I do not know. But it must be a monster. Is this kind of a monster born naturally? A passing dog will laugh. no doubt Whoa, this is the work of Grimudo!”

“I don’t know. For now, let’s report the facts as they are.”

It’s not an honorable thing, but didn’t their head, the Republic Doge, Andolf McLirren, have a good relationship with Grimudo? But, why is he suddenly sending his beast to destroy the Citadel Republic?

Andrew couldn’t come up with any guesses about this.

And, in fact, at a time when things had already come to this point, such speculation didn’t matter.

While observing the bottom of the earth while holding a magic circle on the ground and enduring the earthquake, the two soon realized that the situation was more serious than it seemed. Earthquakes, lava flows, and even meteorites have devastated the whole mountain range, but this may not be the end, but the beginning.

“As long as he continues to riot over there, the crustal anomalies will continue unchanging. Perhaps the opportunity to do everything as if it never happened has already passed.”

“If he slams his head in there like this, then…”

“It is dangerous to stand still. It must have found a heat source deep in the earth, and it’s sucking heat from it. The problem is that they aren’t the only ones swallowing that heat.”

If you are a wizard, you must be curious. Thomas William was a civil servant of the Republic, and when it came to volcanoes, he was more knowledgeable than anyone else in the tower. He understood the situation better than Andrew, who was dispatched from the Vales branch of Matop.

After all, the world is wide and there are many people. No matter how insignificant it may seem, if you look around the world, there are a few people who are working on it.

Fortunately for the Citadel Republic, this man named Thomas has been steadily researching the dormant Calderan Volcano for a long time. It didn’t make money doing it, but a hobby should always be respected. To him, even earth magic was nothing more than what he had learned for research.

From the perspective of such a person, the time for the explosion of this place did not come, and that day had to come long after he died. But that monster pulled all fate.

No one knows when the day of the explosion will be, but a fearful amount of power was building up from below the ground. Because Phoenix is constantly drawing heat from the depths of the earth.

“The heat it can’t swallow, the heat it sends is stimulating the lava everywhere and increasing the pressure inside the mountain range. When the pressure gets so high that even these heavy mountain ranges can’t hold it down… you know, bang! Everything collapses. The calamity this will cause is so desperate!”

It would be better for Mage Harmael to turn around and lead the entire army of the demons to invade the Citadel Republic. Because an exploding volcano is an opponent that neither persuasion, pleading, negotiation nor surrender will work. No one has ever seen a volcano of this size erupt in history.

You may have seen them if they were Grimudo, but they are not Grimudo. The largest volcanic eruption recorded in history was Ropunpo Volcano in the south, which even turned an island into an island of death and buried all life on the island in ash.

Although Ropunpo Volcano is large, it is a volcano. The entire mountain range is not a supervolcanic supervolcano like the Calderan Mountains. If this explodes, the Citadel Republic will end on that day, and the entire southwestern part of the continent will be covered with volcanic ash, leaving the sun untouched.

“Fighting volcanoes is nonsense. We have no choice but to run away.”

“Let’s book a boat for our family right now. As far as possible… run away as far as we can so we can all survive.”

“We and our family can lose weight, but what about others?”

At Thomas’ words, Andrew the Wizard kept his mouth shut.

Even if the answer didn’t come out of their mouth, both of them had already intuited it. But no one talked about the ominous speculation. The moment it came out of my mouth, it seemed like a prophecy and it would come true.

“All we can do is put a full report on the top of the republic. Let’s write down what you said without making a single mistake and submit it. Whether the superior believes it or not, let’s take our family and household items and run away today. That’s what we did.”

Of course, he knows that if he runs away from the battlefield, he will be imprisoned in a dungeon and tortured. But is Calderan Supervolcano the enemy?

Do humans deserve to call themselves enemies in front of this gigantic volcano? I have no choice but to tremble and worry about not getting angry. It’s best to run away if you show any signs of anger after being very heartbroken and struggling.

“You never know when the explosion will come. Maybe tomorrow, maybe in two days… If you’re lucky, you might even survive a week. If we notify our superiors of this threat, it is equivalent to giving them that much time. You will have a few days to react. More than that, we cannot do it on our own. Mr. Thomas. We have a family.”

“We are not the only ones with families. I can’t go.”

“Calm down! Nothing can be said to remain here!”

Andrew put his hand on his shoulder and shook it. His eyes were also desperate.

If you don’t like it, you can leave it alone and leave, but he really liked this guy named Thomas. We met for a while, but they were close friends.

“No, there is. what i can do For that, I must remain.”

“I know you are a great scholar. But what can a single person do in this situation?”

“Even though volcanoes cannot be helped by human power, monsters can be dealt with. If that beast is eliminated, the explosion won’t come, at least right now.”

Andrew, hearing Thomas’ words, muttered blankly.

“no way…”

“I will propose a plan to bring all the strong forces of the Republic to the upper part of the Republic and subdue that monster. But no matter how great a hero is, he’s not as good as me when it comes to the terrain and routes of this volcano. I will be your guide, lead them, and lead them to that beast.”

He grabbed Andrew’s hand on his shoulder and held it tight.

“Mr Andrew. Can I just ask my family?”

The man, who could not speak, slowly nodded his head. He couldn’t raise his head in shame. But he didn’t have the courage to go to die with Thomas, so he just kept silent.

“Do you even need to do that?”

After a while, he barely uttered a single word. Thomas smiled weakly.

“It’s also a way for families. If a supervolcano really opens its eyes… then maybe, it will be meaningless for my family to run anywhere. This volcanic eruption is like an unopened box. We can’t even guess what’s in it.”

“Then let’s hurry. If we subdue that monster as quickly as possible, the worst may be avoided.”

The two nodded and quickly headed for Vales City.

The struggle to avoid catastrophe began.
