Chapter 304: Xingyue City

Translator: LiamHW

After a set of the boxing was finished, Yuan Wenxuan raised his head to glance at Song Qinghan and Wu Dahu, and then took out a candy from his own pocket and placed it around Little Shitou’s lips. Seeing that Little Shitou was delighted licking the candy, he couldn’t help but smile big.

But he did not let Little Shitou lick it too long, he put away the candy after ten were counted. Seeing that Little Shitou was frowning as if to protest, he educated with a stern expression, “Master told you not to eat that much, or your teeth will be eroded by the sweetness and get loosened.”

Even though Little Shitou did not know what Yuan Wenxuan meaned at all, he nodded and echoed, “Get loosened! Get loosened!”

And after that he opened his mouth wide as if he was expecting Yuan Wenxuan would let him lick one more time for the sake of his obedience.

His way of behaving, however, did not help him win the candy back but amused everybody in the carriage. Everybody was laughing cheerfully and aloud as in an instant, the air was crammed with the laugh they produced, and traveled far with the wind.

Song Qinghan did not have any feeling that it was a boring journey at all since he had Little Shitou along the way as the crowd pleaser. Instead, time passed really quick and in a blink of an eye, they arrived at the Xingyue City.

The acquirement of the city’s name, as Xing (星) stood for stars while Yue (月) stood for moon, was indeed quite succinct. It was simply because that the night view of the city was stunningly attractive. As long as it was not cloudy or rainy days, the night sky here was always like a painting which was drawn beautifully with sparkling and shinning stars with a lighting moon.

Compared to Yueban City in Qingmu Region, Xingyue City was much smaller and shabbier. Yet even though it was small and shabby enough, it was compact anyway. And Song Qinghan could buy every products he was eager to purchase.

The first thing that occurred to Song Qinghan in the mind was that his set of scalpels was on the verge of retirement after the long run, so he naturally wanted to visit the local iron shop and found the blacksmith first.

He intended to make a clear description to the blacksmith like he did long ago when he was in the town in Qingmu Region. The blacksmith’s reaction in bewilderment, however, made Song Qinghan believe that not every blacksmith was as smart as the previous one in the town.

Fortunately, he had a habit to bring the scalpel set with him at any time when he was out, so he then reached out to take out his scalpel set from the carriage, and showed them in front of the blacksmith. Out of surprise, the blacksmith took over the scalpel set and examined them meticulously while exclaiming, “What a gorgeous set of knives, they must be produced by the top blacksmith in Qingmu, right? Look at their blades, it, it is just amazing, I am utterly shocked by just glancing at it.”

Since all the family members featured the characteristics of Qingmu people, Song Qinghan did not find it as a strange and queer thing as the blacksmith found out the truth himself about their origin. Yet he did not share the same idea about the ‘top blacksmith’ theory with the man in front, and he said nothing about the truth as he was afraid that this man would get hurt if he ever knew that he who built this set was indeed a mediocre blacksmith.

It must be quite upset for him if he knew that it was nothing special to produce in Qingmu Region, but was indeed difficult for him even to simulate.

The blacksmith was totally obsessed with the set of scalpels right now and absorbed in examining it, and he started to simulate to forge without even informing the actual delivery time and the price to Song Qinghan.

Yet Song Qinghan thought if it was fast he might get the new set right today, so in that case he did not bother to ask further but nodded to Wu Dahu and he uttered gently, “Let’s move on get another purchasing, and we will com back here again in the final.”

Naturally, Wu Dahu did not have any objection over it, so he led the whole family heading to the centermost area of the city and had the binge-eating on all sorts of the street snacks.

Speaking of the snacks, Qingmu indeed prevailed in the kind when it was compared to the one here. There was a larger place in Qingmu Region after all, so that they were allowed to plant everything they wanted and got richer materials with abundant resource.

Even though they all had no any seasoning and spices at all at the earliest stage, the materials from Qingmu Region had already exceeded the one from Xingyue City.

Well, in fact this Xingyue City wasn’t that bad at all when it came to the milk product, and it was actually a good news for Little Shitou because he finally was able to binge eating and watching.

Since it was quite normal to see milk product here, it was not strange to witness creatures producing milk being sold. So when Song Qinghan noticed that bunch of sheep and cows were wandering over there, he was not surprised at all.

Even though Little Shitou was right now in a semi-weaning situation, Song Qinghan knew it was nothing bad to drink more milk according to what he had learned so far. At least Little Shitou looked much stronger than his peers.

In that case, he purchased a milch cow without further hesitation. He did not buy a sheep because even though sheep milk was also nutritious, it paled into insignificance when it came to the volume stuff. So if it were a milch cow, they did not even have to worry about that issue.

After buying the cow they didn’t take it away immediately, after all, if they did then they wouldn’t have to go on shopping, otherwise they would have to be prepared for the cow to go to another stall to make a mess and they would be responsible for cleaning up the mess.

After leaving the cow stall, they went to buy some more rice, noodles and fabric, and on their way back they happened to pass the iron shop. Song Qinghan wanted to check it out the progress of the scalpel making, so he walked into it directly.

Yet to his surprise, that blacksmith collapsed as his butt stuck on the ground while he did not even dare to look up, and murmured, “It’s gone, it’s all gone…”

Song Qinghan subconsciously looked around in the shop and saw that there were no traces of scalpels everywhere. He frowned and asked, “Manager, where’s my set of scalpels?”

Upon hearing Song Qinghan’s voice, the blacksmith startled and then slowly raised his head while his eyes were full of complexity, as if deep in his eyes there were complaint, guilt as well as sorrow.

“Someone just came and snatched the thing away. He claimed that you stole the kit from his home, is that true? You, you really stole the kit?”

While saying, he sized up Song Qinghan from head to toe. Noticing that Song Qinghan was well-dressed with a decent looking even though it was not luxurious one, he couldn’t make a right decision currently.

In his opinion, the identity of a person with such a set of knives was naturally rich or noble, but Song Qinghan was currently in a very ambiguous state. It could be said that he was rich, or poor, that was why he would feel so confused inside.

If Song Qinghan looked like he was rich, he might directly conclude that the other party was slandering Song Qinghan. If Song Qinghan looked like he was poor, he could naturally report to the official to catch Song Qinghan. However, Song Qinghan looked neither rich nor poor, so he could do nothing at all…

Song Qinghan saw through his thoughts, raised his eyebrows and laughed angrily, “Oh? Are you serious? The things I entrusted you to do were robbed in your hands. I haven’t complained yet and you just put up with an accusation? What kind of theory is that?”

The blacksmith seemed to be a little guilty. He lowered his head and didn’t say anything in response.

Seeing that the man was sinking into a guilty silence, Song Qinghan did not bother to investigate further, and he turned around and uttered directly, “Since so, let’s go visit the official court and let them solve this stuff, should I just believe your ‘rubbing’ theory? I doubt that. Who knows if you just keep my kit as your own possession personally because of greed?”

Just not long after he took a step outward, his legs were dragged by a strength.

He looked down and noticed that the blacksmith was hugging his calf tightly. His eyes widened slightly and he said in a strange tone, “What’s wrong? Are you mad at me because I saw through your mind? You want to murder me for covering things up?”

Wu Dahu heard the noise of disharmony inside and he walked in quickly. Without waiting for the blacksmith to react, he slapped the back of the man’s neck violently. After the man let go of Song Qinghan out of pain, he stepped forward to protect Song Qinghan behind him and asked with a frown, “What’s wrong?”
