Chapter 299: Mystery of Bricks

But… What was the point of this? They were in fact the ones who were got the reason.

Wu Dahu’s face sank as he calmly pointed at the bricks in the hands of the men in the group and said, “These are bricks we made yesterday, why did they become your possession overnight, Lord Wu?”

Wu Ke squinted for a while and then he answered in a faint voice, “Things that appear in my area shouldn’t be mine?”

His answer was a bit beyond Wu Dahu’s expectations, Wu Dahu had expected him to at least argue for a brief moment, but he didn’t expect him to take these bricks as his own possession without saying a word, and he still seemed to take it for granted.

Wu Dahu smiled, but the glint under his eyes became colder and colder as he said in a deep voice, “So you are not going to bring this a justice right? Lord Wu?”

Wu Ke was extremely calm as there was no extra expression could be caught on his face, and he then answered in a plain tone, “Justice? What justice do you want? You want me to receive the punishment as well? Still remember what I said yesterday? I SAID, I WISH I WILL CATCH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY NO MORE IN MY AREA.”

The ambience quietened down again, and Wu Dahu suddenly waved his hand to Xiaosi while saying peacefully, “Xiaosi, get these bricks back.”

Xiaosi nodded as a response, and he glared at Wu Ke then led Lusen and the rest to walk towards those men. And they began stacking all the remaining bricks in a pile.

Wu Ke’s little finger twitched as if he was trying to suppress his anger in mind, and then he raised his hand in a slow manner and placed it on the sword he equipped around his waist while saying with an extremely cold face, “Didn’t I make it clear? I said whatever in my area is mine. Since you guys get the intention to bring us the trouble, you should pay for it. Otherwise, if one day you throw a head in my area, you will claim that someone is killed by me.”

Wu Dahu frowned and responded in a deep voice, “Are you saying that we had enough to move these bricks overnight? Just to move them back again now?”

Noticing that there was a faint tendency of a burst of fight, Song Qinghan broke in all of a sudden, “Enough, this isn’t that serious at all, nor is it insignificant. If we just continue arguing for a ‘fair’ consequence, none of us would in the end admit defeat. It would be definitely difficult for us to debate for like three days and nights. Why don’t we report it to the king and let him make a judge on it?”

Wu Ke snorted coldly and said casually, “Whatever you want, since you’ve come up with a way to frame me with the crime of stealing, you should have prepared the evidence ready. If you want to use the king’s power to suppress me, just say it. There is nothing worth hiding, well, I mean that’s not what a righteous man does!”

“I will accept the punishment myself,” he added as if something suddenly occurred to him in his mind, “but don’t think that I will just let it go. No one ever took any advantages from me yet!”

These words uttered by Wu Ke seemed to be a solemn announcement which claimed that there would be no more possibility among them to get along well in the future, and that the relationship between these two people collapsed into a dire one incompatible as fire and water.

This was indeed not the result Wu Dahu wanted to see, but now it seemed that there was no other choice for him to choose because the invisible barrier between him and Wu Ke had already erupted.

No matter what the final truth would be like and discovered, Wu Ke would never trust it any more because he had already had an answer in his mind.

After a moment of silence, Wu Dahu nodded to Song Qinghan behind him, went over to help Xiaosi and the others carry the bricks and wordlessly walked towards his own land.

There was nothing for them to worry about because they did not do something wrong at all. Since Wu Ke himself took the initiative to declare the disturbance, he would accept it without fear.

He never intended to provoke any disharmony, but if troubles come visit him, he would never choose to escape either.

The group of people from Wu Dahu’s side finally vanished in the sight of Wu Ke while Wu Ke was standing gazing in distance. The rest of the subordinates in the scene noticed that and one of them couldn’t help but ask in a low voice, “Lord, should we continue the construction or…”

Wu Ke glanced carelessly at the person who spoke and he responded expressionlessly, “Am I going to live in the wild if you do not continue?”

The man cowered a little, knowing that Wu Ke was still angry, and hurriedly kept his mouth tightly shut.

But how were they supposed to build the residence since there was no finished brick here at all? They were somehow stuck between rock and hard place right now not knowing how to act, and at the same time they were quite afraid at the thought of the fact that they who were responsible to build the bricks were punished severely yesterday.

It took a long while for Wu Dahu and the rest to move all those bricks back in several rounds. And if they did not happen to meet some Qingmu people on the way and ask them for help, probably it would require them to move them all in an entire morning.

When they finished moving the bricks and took a break, Xiaosi couldn’t help but complain, “Lord Wu, are we going to let this event be forgotten? Maybe we should gather all our brothers to get the justice ourselves.”

Wu Dahu was right now enjoying the caring ‘service’ of Song Qinghan by wiping his sweat on his face, and he answered in calmness, “How will you get the justice then? Beat them harshly in the face just like they did to us yesterday?”

Xiaosi was speechless in an instant and then glanced at his ‘brothers’ he brought to help build the residence, and he scratched his head while saying, “We got the reason, and they won’t say anything if we beat them because they did something so wrong.”

By stating that with a gloomy face, he still noticed the great reluctance on Wu Dahu’s expression. Even though he could not restrain his anger over Wu Ke’s behaviors, he shut his mouth.

Song Qinghan looked at Xiaosi thoughtfully, not understanding why the man was so obsessed with the idea to beat up the men in Wu Ke’s team. Logically speaking, he wasn’t a man who was so unwise that had no idea about the fact that bigger troubles would come if things were to be handled like that.

The sun raised high in the sky, scorching. Since the bricks had come back, they should waste no more time.

Wu Dahu intended to report the whole issue to Muhammad as soon as he went back, but he did not want to force Muhammad to give a reasonable explanation at all. He thought that Muhammad had the right to know the fact that the clash between him and Wu Ke had already deepened which seemed to have a faint possibility to break.

With the help of Xiaosi’s brothers, they were able to build the residence much faster, and because Xiaosi had obviously left some extra bricks out when he made them, they were not stretched to the limit and only had to work hard to stack the bricks upwards.

Their new residence was almost finished before the sun set, and if they wanted it to have a better look, all they needed to do was to paint the exterior. But neither Wu Dahu nor Song Qinghan were a one who pursued the external beauty, so they both felt that this was the best they could do.

When they returned from work, Xiaofan was already waiting for them in front of their tent. At the moment he caught a glimpse of Song Qinghan, Xiaofan nodded and took the initiative to speak, “The king has heard about what happened to you today and specially asked me to investigate, so if you don’t mind, I would like to talk to you alone.”

Song Qinghan froze and subconsciously glanced at Wu Dahu, of course Wu Dahu naturally had no problem with it and nodded, “Yes, then let’s start with me first.”

“Alright.” Xiaofan sounded, and then took the initiative to move his wheel chair inwards.

After Wu Dahu and Xiaofan both entering the tent, Xiaosi who was standing in behind complained with his face full of disgust and anger, “What a vicious man, why is it always the villain brings suit against victims? I am so fuxking curious about what they had complained on us…”
