Chapter 246: Gonna Show His Prowess

Translator: LiamHW

Mork frowned even tighter since Song Qinghan seemed to be quite sincere on face.

Seeing that Song Qinghan remaining his silence, Mork finally came to ask what was lingering in his mind.

“I don’t even believe any verbal statement without any proof. You just said that you are able to deal with the small pox stuff, do you really think that I am that kind of stupid to trust you? I won’t trust unless, unless you cure one in front of me RIGHT NOW AND RIGHT HERE!”

Song Qinghan’s eyes suddenly sharpened as he stared at Mork without taking off his sight, “Alright! If you can bring me one patient who is suffered by such a disease, I will show you something about that!”

Words failed Mork to sound again. The current issue was: How was he supposed to find someone who was with that particular disease?

Song Qinghan seemed to have seen through Moke’s thoughts. He made a slight adjustment on his expression, and then came to add, “There is a town in the Qingmu Region called Moshang. It was once a lockdown area haunted by the small pox. You can get someone to find out if there was one doctor named Song Qinghan once cured them.”

Seeing that Song Qinghan was offering a substantial evidence, Mork no more bothered himself and Song Qinghan with that trust issue. He pondered for a brief moment, and then frowned again, “Your statement about the Imperial Hospital stuff and the Imperial Doctors envying you cannot be more ridiculous than nonsense. Since the envying stuff is too subjective and cannot be traced just by collecting evidence, even if I am able to send my subordinates to investigate.”

In response to the doubt of Mork, Song Qinghan seemed to have foreseen it before he made such a confession. So he just answered calmly without haste, “A batch of the Imperial Doctors had been sent to the Yueban City with their head named Luo Haiyun. I know that you’ve already got some spies monitoring within the city.”

Without waiting for Mork to speak, Song Qinghan added, “I know it would be hard to convince you if there are only one or two discussing about that. But what if there is nothing about one or two chatterbox but a heated discussion? I think you will be able to make a judgement yourself, Your Highness.”

Mork pondered for a moment, then suddenly spoke, “If that is all, I have no need to treat you as a guest at al, as long as your child is detained here, I won’t even concern about that whether you will work for me or not. Does it make sense?”

“Besides, you said that you have one more in your belly, which means you don’t even have the ability to work for me for a long time…”

Noticing a hint of danger in Mork’s eyes, Song Qinghan did not show panic, but instead, he lightly raised his eyelids and said, “Don’t you really understand, Your Highness? You need to learn how to balance the trade-off between me serving you for a long period and rescuing you out of crucial moment in a short-term consideration.”

“If the Commander General on my side wasn’t successfully cured by me, you wouldn’t have lost that battle …… More importantly, do you know who I have come here to see?”

Upon being informed that the Commander General was successfully cured by Song Qinghan, Mork turned his face into a more queer one.

That battle was a completely life-long stigma for him. If he had to calculated everything in a further consideration, Song Qinghan should be the culprit who caused the final end of such a shame for him. So how dared this guy negotiate with him in peace and calmness here without conflicts?

And Mork’s curiosity for the truth was finally intrigued as he just thought of that, “Who’s that?” he asked without showing any mood swings.

He was truly curious. If what Song Qinghan just confessed were all true, he would really want to probe and see who the guy would be to make such a miracle doctor risking himself bearing a crime of treason.

Song Qinghan did not choose to whet Merk’s appetite any further and said directly, “Do you know a man called Wu Dahu? The leader of the Charge Battalion this time.”

Mork’s expression mixed with more unexplainable confusion and suspicion on face after hearing that, he sized Song Qinghan up and down for a brief moment, and then answered thoughtfully, “So you mean he is your…”

Noticing the slight changes on the Mork guy’s face, Song Qinghan caught a glimmer of hope in his mind and he took a step forward, “You actually know him, right? Is he in here, or somewhere else?”

Moke hesitated for a moment, then said hesitantly, “Yes, but…”

Song Qinghan’s heart tightened and his eyes were blurred with black, as if he had foreseen a not-so-good picture right there awaiting him, and then he urged to ask impatiently, “But what? Tell me everything! I want to see his body even if he really died here!”

Being yelled by such a high-pitched voice, Mork finally came back to his senses realizing his own identity here, and then he frowned again, answering, “He is still alive, but, well, kind of on the verge of death, you know. Our doctors are trying to save him right now.”

Song Qinghan didn’t have time to figure out why Mork wanted to save a general from the side of Qingmu. With his hands clenched into fists, he braced himself directly on Mork’s desk, leaned forward and uttered in a certain tone, “Take me to him! I am able to save him!”

Mork looked at Song Qinghan silently for a while, but finally, he relented, nodded his chin to the subordinate next to him, and ordered, “Bring him over, and inform the rest of the subordinates that all should be done according to this guy’s wishes.”

Well, this was a good opportunity to test Song Qinghan’s prowess after all. If Song Qinghan could really do what the doctors by his side could not do, then there would be no complaint at all even he had to respect Song Qinghan as a guest of honor here. Well, if Song Qinghan failed to make everything right, he definitely would vent all his wrath on Song Qinghan for not being respected today.

Song Qinghan quickly followed behind the man who was leading the way. Not long, he took a sudden stop as the man right in front of him paused before a tent, and looked down to take a glance at Little Shitou who was opening his big and watery eyes. And then he spoke to the man abruptly, “Would you please take care of my child for a brief moment? He is kind of well-behaved.”

The man looked a little bit stunned standing there, but when he saw Little Shitou’s innocent face, his heart softened and he took the initiative to reach out and carry the baby over.

Little Shitou struggled violently at first at the moment he landed the arms of that man, but when he received the tender sight from Song Qinghan, he obediently nestled in the man’s arms while babbling adorably, “Femi Daddy! Me good boy!”

Song Qinghan secretly sighed, nodded to the man, lifted the tent himself, and walked inside.

Inside the tent, apart from the strong and pungent smell of blood, there was surprisingly a strange smell of rouge mixed in, making Song Qinghan almost gag when he smelt it.

He frowned and said in a low voice, “I am sent by His Highness to be responsible for rescuing this young man, now, all of you get out of here. Any problems?”

Upon hearing his words, some people stood up and retreated out of the room, but some remained in place, looking at him with their squinting eyes and sticking their butts on the stools while one of them responded in a disdainful tone, “Who on the earth are you? Are you that confident to cure this guy without the assistance of us?”

Beyond the man’s expectation, Song Qinghan spoke again abruptly, making an order, “Alright then, those who are standing will stay, you, and you, and you, get out of here NOW.”

Silence fell on the tent in an instant after Song Qinghan made such a request, as if no one would have expected that this stranger would make such a ‘brutal’ command.

No one within the tent remained a calm face but Song Qinghan. He then added since no one made any response to his request, “I will count down from three to one, and I will ask the guards to clear this turbulent place without mercy if you guys don’t follow my lead.”

The man carrying Little Shitou outside the tent peered in, and suddenly he echoed, “What he said is all true, His Highness indeed made such an order.”

Those people who stuck their butts to the stools exchanged glances there, and all of them rose reluctantly. Glaring at Song Qinghan, they finally left the place.

To Song Qinghan’s surprise, one seemingly stubborn man still lingered there without intentions to move at all. Noticing that Song Qinghan was gazing at him, he roared as fiercely as he could be with an even more high-pitched and reedy tone, “What do you think you are looking at? You dare to kick me out of this tent? Ever know who I am? I am the infanta here!”

Song Qinghan frowned, and he was finally able to figure out the origin of that queerly strange and pungent rouge smell. He took a casual glance at the face which bore a resemblance to the one of Mork, and then coldly counted, “Three, two…”

The man was taken aback, as if he didn’t expect that Song Qinghan would ever show no respect to him. But most importantly, the man who came here together with Song Qinghan was also gazing at him right now, as if he would definitely report everything without covering things up to Mork if the man chose to be capricious.
