197. On the Verge of Death

Muhammad sank into silence, since Song Qinghan had already thought of something like that, of course he wouldn’t be that fool himself, so…

He squeezed his lips and then came to ask in a vague tone, “That won’t be easy? Maybe I can get a random scapegoat for myself.”

“A what? Random?” Song Qinghan questioned in amazement as if he had just heard an unpleasant joke, he squinted his eyes and looked at Muhammad, “And now you’re assuming that the Grand Coordinator is a fool, right? How is that possible for someone ‘random’ to get the identity-proving gadget? Probably me and my family will be accused of NOTHING with that farce happening.”

Noticing that every option of himself was all retorted one by one by Song Qinghan, Muhammad shrugged suddenly while his tone seemed to become with a bit resignation.

“So, tell me what you want?”

Since he wasn’t about to solve the problem, he would choose to throw the issue back to Song QInghan and let him decide. Furthermore, from Song Qinghan’s rather confident countenance he could catch the hint that Song Qinghan probably had already had one idea in his brain, and what he should do now was to wait for some arrangements.

Song Qinghan chuckled and raised his eyebrows, “Are you good at breaking jail?”

Muhammad frowned tight, and then responded in a low voice, “Are you really planning to send me to the jail? Do you know how many people out there getting their eyes on me?”

Song Qinghan answered in a leisurely manner, “Probably not that many, otherwise you won’t have been so brave swaggering in my house, and had such a gut to frame the other, and even headed to the Grand Coordinator’s Mansion.”

Song Qinghan’s words totally blocked the mouth of Muhammad which made him fail to say anything in response, instead of speaking, he only stared at Song Qinghan with a gloomy face.

Well, if he did not get a profound martial skill and ability to dodge the attack, probably he would have died dozen years ago.

Yet, living with such an ability didn’t mean that he was completely omnipotent handling everything. Furthermore, he was currently in the territory belonging to his enemy, which meant that once he was inattentive he would live beyond redemption.

Thinking of this, he got his tone even deeper and lower, “You got no other means besides this? Life or future, I think I am able to make a better choice between them.”

It would just bring an inconspicuous impact to his ambitious career if he failed to acquire the triplets, but if his life was taken, everything was doomed to vanish.

Song Qinghan seemed to have already predicted that Muhammad would give him such an answer, so he responded quickly, “I can promise you that you don’t have to show up to confront such a matter to solve this issue, but I hope you will promise at the same time that if one day the Yueban City was under the siege by you, you won’t order your soldiers to make a sudden attack, alright?”

It was such a great impact force blown directly on Muhammad’s head, even though Muhammad had always been showing his calmness, an astonishment was still revealed on his face, “Are you that kind of affirmative that I can make things right like that?”

Even he himself was uncertain that he was going to accomplish his ambitious career if he finally succeeded acquiring the triplets, let alone the one who was from the enemy country and had just barely met one or two times.

Besides, such a requirement wasn’t that difficult to accomplish at all, so he could reach an agreement with Song Qinghan right at the moment. For one thing, such a picture wasn’t doomed to happen at all, and for the other, even if it was going to happen, he could assign the mission to the other person to make that order, and that wouldn’t be a breach of parole, right?

Song Qinghan had seen through Muhammad’s thoughts, and then he uttered plainly, “No other subordinates of yours is able to make an order like that. And as for the issue of yours, I am not that kind of affirmative, things will always change anyway.”

From the observation of these days, Song Qinghan could draw a conclusion that Muhammad was a man who was extremely cruel and merciless, he was rather good at playing psychological game, but on the other side he would show his tender side when he treated people who was at the same boat with him. He did things in an orderly way, knowing profoundly about how to murder a man with a borrowed knife. It could be predicted that as long as his life was on track without mistake, he would finally gained his own land as territory one day.

Song Qinghan said so rather seriously, which made Muhammad become more and more serious either. He raised his right fist up and put it on his chest, thumping himself on it and answering with every single word emphasized, “I promise you, one day if the Yueban City was under the siege by me and my soldiers, I will never resort to any means to smash the gate unless the gate is open for me without force.”

Though he did not come to explain, Song Qinghan had already known that such a posture made by Muhammad was a unique one for the Northern minorities when they intended to swear. Since Muhammad did so to make a promise rather than adopting any other random posture to lie down on the job, he should have taken the words rather seriously now. So Song Qinghan didn’t bother to say anything against that, he just smiled and said, “I want you to show up in front of the guards outside there purposely, and you should intendedly leave your marks on the ground for them to trace. After that, you can come here and get the four and leave.”

Muhammad looked at Song Qinghan suspiciously. He didn’t seem to have thought that things would be so simple., and he asked hesitantly, “What about you guys ?”

Song Qinghan shrugged as he noticed that Muhammad even started to worry about their safety, he answered without any expressional changes, “Well, it depends on the divine will then, anyway I will go to the battlefield soon.”

That was obviously a joke, yet Muhammad did not have any desire to ask for further details, he just nodded, and then answered in a low voice, “You go out first, and I will come back very soon after a period of the incense run up.”

Seeing that Muhammad was being rather confident himself, Song QInghan did not say anything else. Furthermore, if the guards outside the house were that kind of capable of blocking him away, he wouldn’t have been hidding inside currently.

Without a further conversation, Song Qinghan walked out the room directly, and then went to the room where Lianyue stayed.

At the moment Lianyue heard something sounding outside, he rosed abruptly from the seat and hurried to wipe the tears off on his face.

Catching the sight that Lianyue was getting a pair of eyes which were full of redness, Song Qinghan came to know what happened. Yet he pretended to detect nothing from it intentionally and sat down himself, uttering in a gentle tone,  “The Grand Coordinator gets an illness called bronchitis, luckily such an illness hasn’t evolved into pneumonia yet. If he doesn’t get a proper treatment as soon as possible, things might go beyond control in the future.”

“Bronchitis?”

Lianyue repeated with a dumbfounded face. It seemed that he was quite confused on recognizing the illness name. Yet he still could figure out something himself.

He pinched his own fingers, and answered in a slight tone, “No wonder I noticed that the Grand Coordinator has been so skinny. If I wasn’t informed that he is the Grand Coordinator, probably I  would have failed to get to know the fact! I just thought that every official here should be like the ones in the state capital who are with chubby and corpulent figures.”

Song Qinghan just delivered a faint smile on fact as a response instead of saying something.

And suddenly, Lianyue commenced being uneasy, he lowered down his head staring at the ground, and it was after a long while before he finally asked, “Then, Mistress, have you found a method to cure the Lord? I’ve heard from the others that no one prevails when pitting against you in the medicine area.”

“Hmm…” Song Qinghan sounded, and then he responded casually, “Don’t keep such flattering remarks in mind, even though it might be beyond my capability to cure the Grand Coordinator, I still get some treatment for him to alleviate the symptoms. But it’s just… I was not satisfied with his attitude today when he was meeting us in his mansion!”

He suddenly turned his tone into a harsh one when he mentioned the fact, while the expression on his face was cooperating with his emotion. His current look seemed to show that he was extremely wrathful right away.

Lianyue sat down slowly beside Song Qinghan, and then he reached out to serve a cup of tea to Song Qinghan, while saying in a gentle tone, “Take it easy, Mistress. Don’t suffer yourself for the other’s mistake. I believe that the Lord Grand Coordinator did that not out of his intention. For the sake that he is an official with clean hands, please don’t take that in mind.”

Song Qinghan picked up the teacup and took a sip, then shook his head, “Alas, forget it, and I am not going to talk about him now. He is dying man anyway, even though I can alleviate his pain currently, he will not be able to get through it in years.”

“Bang!”, the teapot suddenly fell on the table without any signs, while Lianyue was pinching his hands nervously. And after that, he knelt on the ground all of a sudden in front of Song Qinghan, uttering in panic, “Sorry, Mistress. I got a bad physical situation currently and got the teapot fallen, please punish me.”
