Chapter 108: Qinghan Got Poisoned

Translator: LiamHW

The group members of the Liangyi Martial Club heaved a sigh of relief as they saw Wu Dahu finally came out from the woods.

The night almost fell, so probably they would think that Wu Dahu had encountered some unexpected accident himself in the woods.

But as they rubbed their eyes and witnessed that Wu Dahu was coming with a bear which was much bigger than him on his should, no one in the scene wasn’t putting on a face of utter shock and lowering down their faces to stare at their own “War Trophies”. Right at that moment, they felt much embarrassed standing there.

Well, they had to commit that the quantity of the prey would just pale into insignificance when pitting against the quality of it. The hares and pheasants in their hands now were nothing compared to the giant bear on Wu Dahu’s shoulder.

The curator chuckled and approached to Wu Dahu and patted him on the shoulder, praising, “Our Dahu is a real warrior as always! I am here to announce, Wu Dahu is the winner of this game today. Does anyone have any objection?”

Facts speak louder than words. No one dared to jump out now for any objection, and moreover, it wasn’t the first time for Wu Dahu to win the competition.

Wu Dahu stood there with a plain expression, as if he didn’t feel excited toward the success.

He put the dead bear down, took out the dagger from his side pocket and then used it to cut two of the bear palm off, and said in a low voice, “I take two bear palms my own, you can share the remaining parts of it.”

Then, he walked away directly leaving the group behind.

The curator stared at the back of Wu Dahu as he put on a confusion on his face, he mumbled, “He made it?”

Wu Dahu got home, threw the bear palm causally in the kitchen and went to get himself a nice and warm bath. After his bath, he carried Little Shitou in his arms while telling the whole thing he encountered this noon including the femina man he met in that pitfall.

Song Qinghan wasn’t jealous at all, he definitely knew that this wasn’t an accident by will, and in addition, that femina man didn’t say that he would pledge to marry Dahu. With that in mind, he would consider that his husband just did a good deed.

However, he found himself getting more and more bored at home while Wu Dahu had to practice everyday and engage himself in various social activities. And when Wu Dahu got back home, he was entirely exhausted and possessed less time to have a good communication.

Though he ran a tiny shop at the same time, it only takes him half an hour to sell out all the goods if business was booming that day. And now he got nothing to do at home since they got a servant, the boredom was just killing him.

He finally figured out what the “The Most Lonely Boudoir” meant he had known from the TV series. He WAS indeed right in such a situation right now.

Wu Dahu caught the gloom on Song Qinghan’s face, he approached and then pulled over Song Qinghan’s hand, saying gently, “I will take you there where I found the trace of monk fruits and seasonings.”

Song Qinghan delivered a smile of resignation, he wasn’t cheered up at all and he couldn’t even figure out why.

Wu Dahu was able to conceive of bunch ideas to cheer Song Qinghan up if he has a bad temper and vents his anger everywhere while putting on a show. But he currently got no idea what to do at all since Song Qinghan just kept silent.

After dinner, Wu Dahu lay on the bed and let Little Shitou lie on his chest. He turned his head to look at Song Qinghan who was now “glittering” because of the light given off by the candle, and then suddenly said, “Muhan, how about this name for Little Shitou. Wu Muhan, a good name!” (Mu 慕, means “admire”, so Wu Muhan would mean “Wu Dahu admires Song Qinghan”)

With a stun, Song Qinghan turned to Wu Dahu and he could clearly see the sincerity in Wu Dahu’s eyes, and then he answered hesitantly, “People will probably mock us if they notice that…”

“Ignore them, they don’t matter but YOU do.” Wu Dahu broke in.

He looked at Song Qinghan in the eyes even further indulgently.

Song Qinghan sat there embarrassed, but he felt rather warm in his mind, “What if we get some more kids, what will you name them?”

It didn’t take a long time for Wu Dahu to speak, he answered quickly without hesitation, “I will name them, Nianhan, Sihan, Yuehan…” (Nian 念, means “keep someone in mind”, Si 思, means “miss someone”, Yue 悦, means “be happy with someone”)

“But HEY”, Song Qinghan laughed, and then squinted at Wu Dahu naughtily, “I am not a pig, are you going to force me to give birth to so many little piggies?”

Wu Dahu finally relaxed as he noticed that Song Qinghan put a smile on his face again, and then he raised his eyebrows, saying with an “evil” smile, “Well, you never know…”

As soon as he finished the last bit of his words, he didn’t wait before Song Qinghan said something but placed Little Shitou back to his own little world and held Song Qinghan’s waist and pulled him over in bed. Their bodies intertwined tightly again in bed.

Another night filled with love and satisfaction passed. And as Song Qinghan opened his eyes again, the sun already hung high in the sky.

After breakfast, they brought their tools when heading to the woods in the suburban area, and it didn’t take long for them to find the place since Wu Dahu had come here yesterday.

Wu Dahu pointed to the top and reminded, “Some piercing balls fall sometimes from this tree, stay close to me so that we can take care for each other.”

Song Qinghan covered his forehead with his hand and carefully raised his head. He found that up on the top of the tree it was indeed a piercing balls-laden area just like Wu Dahu described, and just as he was about to nod as a response to Wu Dahu, he reacted, shouting, “Hey, aren’t these chestnuts?”

He bent down and naturally pulled a “Piercing Ball” which had fallen onto the ground among the messy grasses out, on a further observation, he found that a brown shell was exposed through the cracking part of the ball, and then he confirmed, shouting in excitement, “Yes, yes, they ARE chestnuts! Hurry up, we should get them all, get me a long stick.”

On the other side, Wu Dahu jumped out quickly with a thick and long stick in hand, he asked Song Qinghan to stay away from the tree and then commenced jabbing at the top part of the it. The piercing balls fell in droves like a pouring rain, and hit on the ground fiercely as if they were about to attack any creatures alive on the ground.

What a shocking scene of storm of shots and shells! Probably no one was going to survive under such a shower!

Song Qinghan looked at the big pile of the chestnuts, he cheered happily while motioning Wu Dahu to stop, he approached and smashed the nutshells open by his feet and then bent down to take out the chestnuts inside the nutshells and put them all into the sack.

Wu Dahu imitated the movements of Song Qinghan and did the same thing as well. Not long, he finished exposing half of the chestnuts on the ground.

After picking up a full sack of chestnuts, Song Qinghan struggled to straighten up. When he saw Wu Dahu was also quite exhausted, he couldn’t help but laugh.

He just felt that he was rather happy to stay with Wu Dahu no matter what they were going to do and handle. And if it was possible, he really hoped that Wu Dahu would cancel the enrollment to the tournament, and they could run own “An Eccentric Shop” by their own and raised Little Shitou in a more peaceful life.Probably they could plan to have more children, to have “Nianhan”, “Sihan”, “Yuehan”, wouldn’t it be a life of affluence either?

However, he wasn’t a selfish man at all. Though he knew the initial purpose of attending the tournament for Wu Dahu was to earn the coins, he could figure out that Wu Dahu was absolutely obsessed with the martial arts, and he could sense that Wu Dahu was all eagerness to make some achievement from that.

Man is allowed to be poor in fortune but not in ambition. He indeed understood Wu Dahu, so he would choose to support Wu Dahu along the way even though he was suffering. He just hope that it was possible for them to get the happy moment back after Wu Dahu finally got his dream come true.

A tiny trace of sorrow appeared on Song Qinghan’s smiling face, and Wu Dahu caught that. He took a pause and then approached to pull Song Qinghan’s hand, asking in a concerning tone, “Tell me what’s wrong? Did Zhai Su bother you again when I was not at home? Or did Hualian do something evil?”

Song Qinghan shook his head as his eyes turning red, he answered in a low voice, “I am not quite sure either. Probably it’s because of the boredom.”

Seeing that Song Qinghan was with a long face, Wu Dahu got tense all of a sudden. He packed up everything and put them into his basket, and then said gently, “Maybe we should go home first. I will get a leave tomorrow, how about I take you out for some fun?”

Song Qinghan pulled the corner of Wu Dahu’s shirt and answered in a stubborn tone, “You’re almost there. Come on, don’t lose any chance for practicing because of me!”

Wu Dahu’s heart softened as he noticed that tears seemed to linger at the corner of Song Qinghan’s eyes, and then he reached out to hold Song Qinghan in his arms, whispering, “It’s nothing for me to win the tournament as long as you’re not happy. And in addition, for I can be quite confident I don’t even think that I should go to the Martial Club everyday.”

Song Qinghan didn’t believe that since Wu Dahu said so, just as he thought of the fact that Wu Dahu refused to practice in the Martial Club because of him, he felt even sorrow. Tears dropped like a shower from his face without stopping.

Finally night fell, and they got home. Wu Dahu got Yuan Wenxuan over to the corner and then asked directly, “Have you ever got a conversation with your master recently?”

Yuan Wenxuan thought for a while and then shook his head, answering, “Not that often, I found every time I went to find him recently, he put on a long face. I chose not to bother him.”

Wu Dahu nodded and mumbled to himself, “Is it really because of the boredom? But he didn’t…”

“Is Master sick?” asked Yuan Wenxuan, frowning.

“I will get Doctor Shi here now!” he moved on and headed out before Wu Dahu reacted.

Doctor Shi arrived, panting. And then he explained to Song Qinghan while Song Qinghan was quite confused about his appearance, “Wenxuan worried about your physical situation, so he gets me here to take a pulse for you.”

Although Song Qinghan reached out his hand cooperatively, his expression didn’t look good, as if he was sulking to himself.

He had no idea what was really happening to himself which made him be so sentimental at once for no reason. And also, getting Doctor Shi here for such an insignificant thing was no difference with a storm in a teacup. Weren’t Yuan Wenxuan and Wu Dahu doing so to embarrass him?

And then he turned to Wu Dahu with his eyes red-rimmed, as if he was about to cry again, and then said in hesitance, “What happened…”

Wu Dahu nodded without words and stared at Song Qinghan as his heart getting hurt noticing that Song Qinghan was about to cry again.

After checking out the pulse, Doctor Shi seemed to be quite serious as he frowned tightly, he motioned Wu Dahu to go out for discussing the further details of Song Qinghan’s physical situation. But Song Qinghan broke in and asked Doctor Shi to get to the point and be frank. In the thought that Song Qinghan was a doctor either and nothing was going to get worse for telling him the fact, Doctor Shi answered directly, “To be honest, Doctor Song’s pulse… is kind of weak… it’s just like the elderly who are dying away. But I’m sorry that it’s out of my capacity to make a clearer diagnosis to find the problem.”

Song Qinghan and Wu Dahu looked at each other in the eyes, both of them were shocked toward such a news.

The elderly who are dying away? Did that mean… Song Qinghan was about to die?
