A Weird Theater That Started In London

Vol 4 Chapter 29: Demon Hunter

   Monday, working day.

  Queens, Kew Gardens.

Today’s first trial is about to begin.

The judge raised his gavel and knocked on the table, signaling the people who came to the hearing to remain silent.

Not long after, an old man in a straight suit was brought up by the bailiff. He stood opposite the judge and waited patiently.

There is a recorder sitting between the two of them.

"Unlawful intrusion and obstruction of criminal investigations."

At this point, the judge who was bald because of reciting a large number of legal provisions paused. He didn't even know the name of the defendant.

   "Setrakian... or Mr. Setrakian..."

   "Whatever you do, Mr. Judge."

Abraham raised his head and waved his hand, not very concerned.

Behind the old man, there were a few jurors sitting scattered, including professionals appointed by the prosecution, and good citizens who volunteered to listen.

Lu Li is one of them.

When the two survivors were brought back to the apartment last night, it was already more than three in the morning. In order not to miss the meeting with the demon hunter Abraham, he used the rest time to clean himself up and changed his formal clothes.

However, all the effort is worth it.

When he saw the old man's first glance, Lu Li realized that he was special, his beard and hair were white and yellow, but his eyes were not muddy at all.

Others thought he was only in his seventies, but Lu Chengli, who had inquired about the bailiff through his relationship, knew that Abraham was ninety-four years old.

A centenarian, carrying a sword and wand to fight against monsters, think about it and know how extraordinary it is.

On the other side, the judge quickly scanned the report submitted by the prosecutor and said:

"Sir, for the sake of President John F. Kennedy, please tell me, what did you do at JFK International Airport on Saturday night?"

After finishing speaking, the bald judge pushed his glasses and looked at the defendant Abraham carefully.

   squeak...

At the same time, Lu Li subconsciously tilted his head when he heard movement coming from beside him.

   Female Doctor Nora!

   An unexpected person pushed in.

For a time, many speculations arose in Lu Qiqi:

Could it be that Dr. Yves of the CDC discovered something and sent a partner to win over the father?

Or, is there any trouble that I need help from my father?

Anyway, it can't be a chance encounter!

While Lu Li was thinking, Nora also noticed him, and the two eyes collided.

It's a pity that there is no spark.

Considering the sacredness of the court, the female doctor pressed her mind, put her bag on the seat beside Lu Li, and sat silently.

"I... saw a piece of news about the landing of an airplane on TV..."

The old man seemed to be tired from standing, and when he said a word, many jurors felt sympathetic.

   "Um...I'm not sure..."

Abraham's voice gradually became muddy, like thick sputum stuck in his throat: "Your Excellency, I'm old, I don't remember."

Upon hearing this, Dr. Nora looked confused and disappointed. What the old man said at the airport the night before had all been fulfilled. Therefore, she rushed over here and asked some questions——

Before losing contact, the chief forensic doctor called and told Dr. Yves that there was a wound on the necks of the 206 deceased, which was so small and detailed that humans could not do it with any technology.

And last night, the medical team also found a wound on Captain Redfern’s neck through ultraviolet light. It is difficult to observe with the naked eye, but it does exist.

Why did the other passengers die, but the captain survived?

   What are those aggressive bugs?

They are rewriting the structure of the human body and want to create a new organ. What is their intention?

Dr. Nora did not dare to continue thinking, because there were too many doubts.

Fortunately, Lu Li didn't know this, otherwise, he would have to collapse along with him.

However, one thing is certain, the old man is pretending to be stupid.

After all, when it comes to acting, Lu Li absolutely has a say. A serious art candidate, after coming to this mystery school, took three consecutive exams and played the roles of a famous detective, an officer, and a policeman. It’s not too much to say an old story.

Although the judge did not have the vision, he was knowledgeable, sneered, and flipped to the next page of the dossier. After browsing a little, he asked again: "Do you have a pawnshop on East 118 Street?"

Hearing that, Abraham did not deny it, but still lifeless, replied: "Yes, the documents are complete and registered."

The judge was going to follow up on this topic, but before he could speak, he heard the defendant slowly say:

"After World War II, I was rescued from the concentration (camp) by the Allies, and then I came here to make a living by retrieving antiques and silverware."

The words fell, and the whispers sounded. The members of the jury looked at the old man in front of him who couldn't even stand still with a sympathetic look.

Not only that, even the judge changed his sitting posture, and his tone eased: "Sir, who lives with you, wife?"

"I am a widower, Your Honor."

Abraham shook his head. He thought of his long-dead wife, he couldn't help lowering his head, lest his eyes were too sharp and all his efforts were abandoned.

The pain of losing his wife, a judge of the same age can feel it, he put his hands together and said, "What about children and grandchildren?"

   "We never had that blessing."

Abraham replied in a deep voice.

I can't imagine what this old man has gone through in his life. Some female jurors started to cry~www.readwn.com~ Lu Li sighed, because no one would use this to deceive others.

Just like that, a dozen pairs of eyes looked at the judge together, waiting for him to make a decision.

In fact, the judge is also a person, not a cold machine. He closed the file: "I don't care about the crime of illegal trespass and obstruction of criminal investigation."

"But I care about this thing."

A cane was carried to the trial stand.

The whole body is made of platinum, and the armrests are carved with wolf heads. Under everyone's attention, the judge presses the mechanism and slowly draws a long sword from the inside.

   Silverware!

Lu Li's spirit came, inadvertently straightened his back, and sat down tightly, seeing Dr. Nora with a face full of puzzlement.

"Sir, this is a hidden weapon."

Actually, the judge had already made a decision in his mind. The tone was not questioning, but exhorting and telling: "In New York City, we have strict laws."

"This, this is an antique, sir."

"I just use it as a cane."

"For me, it means a lot, and it is a symbol of family prestige."

The old man shivered, giving people a feeling of exhaustion.

"I promise, I will take it out and destroy it."

A miserable life, a good attitude of admitting his mistakes, and an old man, the judge was reluctant to hold him accountable anymore, and proposed: "Remember to replace it with a rubber aluminum-soled crutches."

   "This case is rejected!"

   The hammer fell heavily.

Ten minutes later, the second case officially began.

Outside the court, the sun is just right.

The old man is holding a sword stick and walking steadily, how can he be half old?

Lu Li and Dr. Nora walked almost side by side, and quickly followed.
