95. A Boyfriend’s Shirt (1)

Li Zong’s office was simply furnished, but his salary and perks were pretty good. After all, he was a high-ranking official of a government agency. Since he spent most of the time in the bureau, he had developed a habit of keeping several changes of clothes in his office. He Zheng put on Li Zong’s white shirt, feeling enveloped by a faint masculine smell. Wearing what people called “boyfriend’s shirt”, He Zheng, who was a normal man, cut an embarrassing figure for quite a while.

When Li Zong knocked and walked inside, He Zheng had only buttoned three buttons. There was a faint flush at the corners of his eyes, showing a sharp contrast with the pale face he had had a while ago.

Li Zong lifted his eyebrows. He Zheng was sitting on a chair, revealing a considerable area of his fair skin. Not only was his face fair-complexioned, his whole body seemed to have just been soaked in milk, without a single mole on his naked skin. In his eyes was a frivolous look, which made him seem very different from the person he usually appeared.

It was self-evident what a normal man would do under such circumstances.

Li Zong conveniently closed the door, locked it, walked up to He Zheng and put his hands on the back of the chair. The smell of Li Zong from his shirt blended with the smell of Li Zong from Li Zong himself, enveloping He Zheng’s whole being. He Zheng, who was indeed aroused as well, unhesitatingly grabbed Li Zong’s collar, drew him closer and pressed his lips onto Li Zong’s.

The two of them had had so little time to “communicate” that their desire for each other was instantly ignited like a dry faggot on a blazing fire. He Zheng somewhat aggressively pressed Li Zong’s neck lower to deepen their kiss.

Though the sound of the kiss was not loud in the room, it was, for all intents and purposes, no different from aphrodisiac. When lips of the two of them parted, He Zheng was panting heavily with a pink flush on his cheeks, as if he had lost part of his sanity, looking somewhat vulnerable.

But the two of them still had their senses. He Zheng, finding his burning desire rather unbearable, gave Li Zong’s lip a hard bite. Caught off guard, Li Zong slightly furrowed his brow. Realizing that the bite was too hard, He Zheng licked Li Zong’s lip and, with his lips against Li Zong’s, said in a hoarse voice, “Let’s go home earlier tonight!”

A chuckle escaped Li Zong’s dry throat and with that, He Zheng unhesitatingly reached out his long fingers into Li Zong’s clothes. The touch of his hand, which was like that of velvet, was so comfortable that Li Zong closed his eyes in satisfaction. ‘We’ve been married for quite a few days. It’s about time I do what a husband is supposed to do.’

“Got it, Mrs. Li.” He gave He Zheng’s ear lobe a playful bite and made a remark unbecoming to an officer, which was something of a rarity.

He Zheng’s eyes went even deeper. ‘Li Zong never ceases to surprise me.’

There was a knock at the door. Though inopportune, it effectively helped the two of them regain their self-control and kept them from doing what they might not be able to forbear to do.

Li Zong released He Zheng, who then casually stuffed the lower hem of his excessively long shirt into his pants. As he rose to his feet, his cellphone rang. He fished it out and saw that the call was from Qin Huai.

He Zheng flicked a glance at his cellphone and informed Li Zong, “I’ll go back home first.”

“Okay. Take care.” Li Zong cast him a look, a faint smile in his eyes. “I’ll return as soon as I can.”

He Zheng snorted, gracefully waved his cellphone at Li Zong with his back to him and pulled the door open.

At the doorway stood Lin Di, Zhang Jingqiu’s subordinate. The two of them had met each other once. Seeing He Zheng wearing Li Zong’s clothes, Lin Di gave a smile and said to Li Zong, “It seems that I came at an inconvenient time.”

Li Zong walked out of the office. “Not really.”

Lin Di flicked a meaningful look at He Zheng, which made He Zheng feel somewhat uneasy. Without saying anything, he curled his lip and swept away.

While walking towards the outside, He Zheng answered the call and with that a wail came from the other end. “He Zheng, help me!”

This was not something Qin Huai would do in normal circumstances. Worrying that something serious had happened, He Zheng paused and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Alas, it’s hard to explain on the phone. Where are you? I’ll go and pick you up!”

He Zheng told him the address and waited for Qin Huai to pick him up.

Meanwhile, seeing He Zheng walked far away, Lin Di chuckled, “Mr. Zhen and Director General Zong have both arrived.”

“I see.” Li Zong gathered up his papers and then went to the meeting room with Lin Di. Apart from Zhen Daoyuan, there was also a commanding middle-aged man with dashing eyebrows sitting right ahead in the meeting room.

About the middle-aged man was an air of seriousness typical of someone who had been holding a senior position for many years. Square-faced, he appeared somewhat taciturn. Judging from his hoary temples, he was entering his advanced age, but even so, his features were still strong and handsome, which was a clear indication that he was definitely a man of great presence when he had been young.

He was Zong Xian, the incumbent Director General of the Supernaturalism Management Bureau (SMB).

On the two sides sat all members of the first and the second action groups of SMB, except for Zu Zhichong, who had been sent to deal with the suicide case in a college.

The meeting had clearly already begun when the two of them walked into the meeting room. After Li Zong and Lin Di sat down, Zhen Ni hastened to hand the minutes to Li Zong. Li Zong took the notebook and ran his eyes over the minutes while listening to their discussion.

Zhang Jingqiu, the group leader of the second action group, said in a calm tone of voice, “The information from the divinatory symbols jointly decrypted by Zhu family and Mrs. Tan is unmistakable – ‘Hidden Yōkai emerge from the shadows. The Demon King throws the world into chaos. Evil forces bring disaster upon humankind.’ Twenty years ago, a couple of elders of SMB joined hands and sealed the Demon King, who was fanning the flames of disorder, in an enchantment, but after merely twenty years, some demonic Qi nurtured by greed and desire broke through the exorcism circle and escaped. Forty percent of the exorcism circle that Li Zong checked a few days ago was sabotaged. The escaped demonic Qi must have enhanced its powers with this opportunity.”

“That’s true. According to the results of the current investigation of our second group, traces of demons have been found in the Coastal City, the Lin City, the Shen City, the Sui City and the Hang City. The escaped demonic Qi couldn’t have done these things all by itself. It seems that those Demon’s Attendants, who disappeared after the Demon King was magically restricted twenty years ago, are also involved.”

The middle-aged man sitting in front continued, “Back at the time when Elder Chen, Sect Leader Zhang, Elder Zhou, Zhao Yidi and I sealed the Demon King, who had gained his full strength, in an enchantment, I had already predicted that the enchantment wouldn’t hold for long. Greed of people in this world is like a valley that can never be filled, and the Demon King exists with it. The evil thoughts of human were the origin of both the Human Devil and the Demon King. The Human Devil has disappeared a long time ago. As for the Demon King…”

Zong Xian’s tone was somewhat serious. “Currently, what we should be worried about is not what the Demon King is going to do but–”
