Chapter 21: Garen and Mika

Someone covers my mouth, and I fight back with all my might.

Then he presses his lips against my ear.

“Don’t get violent, Mika.”

“…?!”

I was so startled by the voice that I stopped struggling, and he dragged me into a deserted room.

“I think this is a good place.”

With those words, the hand that had been covering my mouth was removed, and I turned around to see Garen standing there.

“What are you doing…?”

I’m disappointed in myself for being excited. I thought I’d killed my feelings for him.

“I came here to find Mika.”

In the moonlight, Garen’s eyes twinkle. Because I can’t look him in the eyes, I look down.

“You weren’t required to do that.”

“Mika, I can’t imagine how horrible it must have been for you to be kidnapped by those demons; let’s go back to Astoria.”

No. In Crystalia, I didn’t feel bad. Rather, I found freedom here.

“I wasn’t kidnapped; I came here of my own free will; I’m sorry you came this far, but you must leave now.”

Garen, I believe, came here to accept responsibility for my disappearance in Astoria. But, Garen, I’m afraid I’m not going back to Astoria.

“I didn’t come here just to be responsible; I want you by my side.”

“Then why did you do──?””

Before I could say anything else, I heard Sarah’s voice.

“Mika-sama, where are you?”

Sarah is looking for me, and she must be concerned about my late arrival.

“Yes. It looks like we’re running out of time. That’s all for today. And I’m determined to get you out of here.”

Garen vanished, possibly through the use of magic.

“Mika-sama.”

“I’m here, Sarah.”

Sarah approached me with relief as I walked out into the corridor.

“I apologize for causing you concern.”

“No, as long as Mika-sama is fine, it’s fine.”

“Thank you.”

This time, I sigh and return to my room.

I hadn’t expected Garen to come to Crystalia. And I’m disappointed in myself for being excited when Garen arrived. I can’t believe I still care about Garen.

Garen claimed he didn’t come here to take responsibility, but rather to have me by his side, but I know that’s a lie. because I spent less time with Garen in this life.

You don’t think he knows I have feelings for him? True, I made my feelings for Garen very clear in my previous life. But this time, I wasn’t as open about my feelings for Garen.

Is it possible that Garen also remembers his previous life?

The thought makes me shake my head. It’s not possible. If that’s the case, why is he after me when he knows I’m not the real Saint?

But ever since we met, Garen has referred to me as Mika.

My heart made a strange noise.

I didn’t get much sleep that night.
