A day at Hogwarts

Chapter 63: Buy Your Own Christmas Presents

After leaving Spider's End, Penny took Charles to a nearby German restaurant for dinner.

The restaurant was opened by a couple from Germany, who rented the old house of the Evans family, and the landlord was of course a warm welcome.

Petunia was silent from the beginning to the end, and Charles knew she was not in a good mood, so he didn't say anything, and gnawed on the delicious roasted pork knuckle.

Charles thought that today's business was over, but he didn't expect that when Penny was driving towards Privet Drive, she suddenly flicked the tail, and then kicked the accelerator and drove to Godric's Hollow.

It was already late at night, and the two of them walked through the narrow alley, and the houses on both sides were already decorated with beautiful Christmas decorations.

There were a few dim streetlights on the side of the square in the village. As the footsteps became louder and louder, the war monument in the center of the square turned into the appearance of the Potter family—a man with disheveled hair and glasses, a man with long hair. A kind-hearted woman with beautiful hair and appearance, and a baby boy sitting in his mother's arms. The snow is like a white hat and waistcoat.

Petunia stood quietly in front of the monument until the cold wind picked up and flakes of snow fell.

Charles was by his side. Lupine mentioned the incident in Godric's Hollow yesterday, but he didn't expect Petunia to act so quickly.

Then Petunia and Charles came to the ruins of Potter's house. It hadn't been taken care of for ten years, and the plants planted as fences had grown in a mess. Inside was waist-deep grass. Rubble and most of the houses that are still there. The house was almost covered in vines, covered in snow and looked deserted.

There is a sign on the iron gate, which reads in gold letters: October 31, 1981 Lily and James Potter died here. Their son Harry is the only wizard who survived the Killing Curse.

There are many messages from wizards in the blank space of the sign.

Petunia grabbed the handle of the iron door and tried to push it open, but it was already rusted.

But that didn't bother Charles. In his pouch was the potion of failure that Neville made in his first Potions class. It was so corrosive that it took just a little to clean off the rust.

The two walked into the ruins, and Petunia took out the flashlight she bought on the way and began to search carefully.

The house has been abandoned for 10 years. It has experienced wind and rain. The wooden products and clothes have decayed, and the metal products are also rusted. The only intact ones are ceramic tableware.

Petunia wasn't very interested in the intact place, she just searched in general, and searched the bombed-out top floor room particularly carefully.

Charles just watched quietly from the sidelines and didn't ask her what she was going to do, even if she was looking for a real estate certificate, it didn't matter.

Petunia searched here for nearly two hours, and when she left for the churchyard, her hat and shoulders were covered with snow.

Charles didn't follow into the cemetery, and Petunia said she wanted to stay with her sister for a while.

The wind and snow were getting bigger and bigger. When the two returned to Privet Drive, it was already daylight, and the snow plow had just passed by.

After Charles got home, he put hot water in the bathtub, soaked in it, and recalled what he had experienced today.

He felt more and more that Penny might not be a simple person.

But the most important thing to do right now is to catch up on sleep, and think about other things after waking up. I slept until noon and woke up hungry.

The house was quite lively that afternoon. The old man was a member of the Surrey County Council. Several "social activists" and voter representatives in the county came to have tea and chat, and by the way, they lobbied the old man to make a statement on a certain bill next year.

Charles was quite familiar with these minions colluding with capitalist officials and businessmen, so he poured tea and passed water to listen to the excitement.

Dudley Dursley showed up in a nice suit, ostensibly to play with Charles, but it was actually Vernon who asked him to show his face in front of these respectable people.

The two Smiths got a headache when they saw him, and told him to sit in a chair and not move around.

Not long after, a call came from the patent law firm that Eleanor had found for Charles, who asked if Charles had time tomorrow morning, and a lawyer would come to explain the patent registration.

This explanation is not free, it is a paid consultation, and Charles agreed to the other party without thinking about it.

Christmas is coming, and the next thing is to prepare Christmas presents, Charles has no time to think about Petunia.

Diagon Alley was much more lively than in summer, and Charles met several classmates along the way.

As he walked, he complained about the old man: "So you used to be brought by other wizards to play."

Jack said proudly: "This is the benefit of being popular."

A few kilometers away from Privet Drive lived a wizard who opened a bar. Jack "accidentally" mentioned Hogwarts when Charles went there for a drink after he went to Hogwarts, and then he got to know him.

Since then, every time Jack wants to come to Diagon Alley, he has to ask the wizard for help. Since he doesn't need change every time he buys things with pounds, he is very willing to help.

Similarly, Jack does not change money for shopping in the shops near Privet Drive, so that Charles does not need to pay for a bottle of happy water, and gets a lot of gifts every Christmas.

Jack doesn't have to worry about preparing Christmas presents for Charles every year, as long as he takes him to the selling place and lets him choose, as long as he doesn't bring the cashier lady back.

"What do you want this year?" Jack asked.

Charles thought for a while, and replied: "I want to go to Lihen Bookstore to see if there is "The Invisibility Book of Invisibility"."

He felt that there would be a lot of covert operations to be carried out in the future, the invisibility cloak had limitations, and the invisibility technique would be more practical.

Jack frowned and asked him, "You want to go into the women's bathroom?"

Charles said angrily: "I'm so handsome, do I need to use this method?"

Jack said solemnly: "The sheep pen is dangerous."

Charles was almost out of breath.

Jack grabbed a handful of Garen from his pocket and gave it to him, and said, "Go and buy it yourself. I'll go to the Tuofan clothing store to see if my custom-made items have arrived."

Charles asked curiously, "Do you want to buy clothes?"

Jack just smiled and said, "Find me at Ollivander's after shopping."

Charles admired the old man's social skills. It was outrageous that a "Muggle" could become friends with a master wand maker.

He walked all the way to Lihen Bookstore, thinking about what Christmas presents he would give his classmates.

There are also Muggle friends, I am now mixing with the wizarding society, which does not mean that I have severed relations with them.

But their gifts are not easy to get. The cockroach pile can be given to David, and others can give Bibi Dumpling Beans.

There are also Hogwarts professors, just send some cheap things if you feel good, but I don’t know if giving Snape a bottle of shampoo, will he suffer from the Shenfeng Wuying package when school starts.
