A day at Hogwarts

Chapter 40 Soul Split

"I felt like I drank the water of life and death."

Charles was puzzled by Ron's words.

"Last night," explained Ron, "I found myself sleeping well after drinking your soup."

Charles blinked, how could it be like this?

He looked around at the people who had supper together last night, and everyone else shook their heads.

"That's it," Charles pinched his chin and thought, "When did you lose sleep and come to me."

Ron shook his head immediately: "No, it's too expensive."

Charles just smiled.

At this time, Harry said to Charles with some indignation: "I think Professor Quirrell is targeting you."

Charles stopped dinner and asked him suspiciously, "Why do you think so?"

There was a wireless link between Harry and Voldemort, and Charles wondered if he sensed Voldemort's malice towards him?

"Didn't it?" Harry said a little angrily, "He actually punished you for confinement today because you walked into the classroom with your left foot."

Seeing that he was talking about this, Charles said, "It's okay, the professor was just joking, and he asked me to help him sort out the lesson plans."

After a month of hard work, he finally sorted out all the curse materials prepared by Voldemort, and then Professor Quirrell's teaching level improved significantly.

Now Professor Quirrell's lectures have become very organized, just follow the content on the curse card, and add some demonstrations and learning of defensive spells, which is much better than the dry reading before.

Percy and his fifth graders who are going to take the Ordinary Wizarding Level Examination next June breathed a sigh of relief. The professor is reliable and the exam is promising.

Charles felt that after finishing the cases in the book of a certain flower peacock in the next month, maybe he could come up with a set of textbooks for Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

After dinner, Charles arrived at Professor Quirrell's office, and a tall stack of Gilderoy Lockhart's books was already prepared on the small table.

Voldemort is a bit abnormal these days, he may be possessed by Hermione, he is flipping through books every night, as if looking for something.

That night, when the confinement was about to end, Charles suddenly asked Voldemort: "Professor Quirrell, do you know about Horcruxes?"

Voldemort raised his head abruptly, looking more seriously than ever before, and looked at Charles carefully for a while before asking, "Why do you ask such a question?"

He was amazed in his heart, good guy, he noticed Horcruxes in the first grade, can he still grow up?

Charles looked puzzled, and asked with an excuse that he had thought for a long time: "I read in the book that to make a Horcrux, you need to split a piece of your soul. I was thinking, what will it feel like after the soul is split? Oil painting The people in it seem to be alive, are they also Horcruxes?"

Voldemort looked at him for a while, making sure that he didn't look flustered, that he really wanted to ask the question, not an undercover agent sent by Dumbledore, and then replied: "Paintings are not Horcruxes, they are a false soul."

He glanced at the book in front of him and continued: "If the soul is a book, then the false soul of the oil painting is a copy of part of the book, not a completely identical book."

"If a person does not become a ghost after death, the soul will disappear, and there will be no books to copy, and no oil paintings."

"A split soul..." Voldemort thought for a moment before continuing, "The soul is far more mysterious and powerful than we realize."

"If the soul is split, there will still be a special connection between them."

After he finished speaking, he tore the two books in front of him into pieces, mixed them together, then took out his wand and restored them with the Restoring Charm, and got two more books back.

After the demonstration, Voldemort continued: "Because the same soul is connected to each other after being split, when a person's body dies, the soul will be pulled by the split soul fragments instead of sliding down the abyss of death."

"As long as the Horcrux is still there, and the soul fragments in the Horcrux are still there, a person will not die. Even if his body has decayed, his soul is still alive. He just needs to find a new body."

Charles nodded and said, "So that's the case. I don't know if I can still receive the original pension insurance after changing my body."

"Ghosts don't have bodies," Voldemort continued regardless of pension insurance, "but they still have memories of when they were alive. Do you know what that means?"

Charles thought for a moment and replied, "Memory, the soul is the carrier of memory."

Voldemort said with satisfaction: "That's right, stupid Muggles think that people's memories are carried by the brain, ha ha..."

"The soul carries a person's memory. If you split your soul consciously, you will make preparations first to prevent yourself from losing that part of your memory."

"However, some people split their souls due to accidents. Without preparation, they lose that part of memory, just like a book with many pages suddenly torn off. Maybe the catalog still records the lost part, and other pages Maybe that part will be mentioned, but in any case can't find the details."

"The connection between the soul and the fragments... In theory, it will give people a feeling that something in the distance is calling them."

Charles asked again: "Then, will the soul fragments have independent consciousness, for example, like a plant grows from a branch to a big tree, and finally becomes another self?"

This question made Voldemort silent, and he thought for a long time before answering: "I don't know, there are very few people who make Horcruxes, and no one has studied this issue."

Charles nodded thoughtfully after thanking him, understanding what Voldemort said.

He thought that the reason that might lead him to time travel might not be a good thing, because of this, his soul was seriously damaged and part of his memory was lost.

And I have never had the feeling of being called, I am afraid that the lost part of the soul is finished, or I stayed in my hometown and did not follow.

The old man and the Sorting Hat said that they had great pain deep in their hearts, which might be caused by soul damage.

But Charles still had a question, so he asked, "Professor Quirrell, are the patron saints of the Patronus Charm all animals? Will there be humans?"

Voldemort's answer surprised him: "Is the patron saint of human beings summoned by wizards in Japan? They call this human-shaped patron saint...'the soul behind'...that probably means it. It is said that it was born from a wizard. I've been guarding him since the beginning."

Charles nodded silently, and the term "spirit behind the scenes" seemed acceptable.

But the problem is, his patron saint knows that he is a ship girl without any coloring, so what the hell is this.

He finally decided to give up thinking, and the real headache would be the dementors.
