Chapter 68 68. The Dao and the Buddha are Different

It was rare for Mo Xian to get a good night's sleep. He rolled over and fell asleep with the dragon-jabbing technique.

The tattoo on his arm has dimmed a bit, this is the first time he has done this, everything happened quietly, Mo Xian didn't notice this in his sleep.

After he woke up, he found that he was very energetic. It was no wonder that he hadn't slept well recently. Fortunately, he was a monk. If he was a mortal, he would have collapsed long ago.

He got out of bed, and his injury has healed a bit. This is still the case that he didn't use the elixir, so he took out the elixir and swallowed one.

A wave of heat quickly rose from the dantian and rushed to the wound, and the wound was ironed comfortably by the heat.

Mo Xian went out the door, this is a guest room, located in the east wing, the house is not big, and it is very simple, there are a few pruning bamboos in the yard, two old trees, and the vegetable field, which is behind the apse.

The Banshan Temple is not big, it is backed by a small mountain, and it is a small temple on the mountainside. At this time, the lunch class was over, and Mo Xian saw Zen Master Delin and his disciples planting vegetables.

"You're up!" Chan Master Delin said kindly after wiping off his sweat in a short gray coat with a sweat towel on his shoulders.

"Master, you are the abbot, and you actually work in the fields."

"I have hands and feet, so of course I should work. Zen stresses that if you don't work for a day, you don't eat for a day. Besides, if you work a little, you can live well. Donor, you don't worry too much." Delin smiled slightly.

"Practitioners in the world are all like the master, so there will be no differences in sects, and there will be no disputes." Mo Xian said with a long sigh.

"It's better for people to do their duty, and people who practice should be more like this. The ordinary mind is the way, and people who practice often forget this, and disputes arise from this, and they lose the original heart of practice."

"The words of the master are really good words of gold and jade. If everyone in the world is like this, the world will become a pure land of Buddha."

"The pure land of the Buddha's kingdom is only in people's hearts. One thought of goodness will turn hell into heaven, and one thought of evil will turn heaven into hell. The donor can sleep well. This is not a proof of this."

Mo Xian was stunned for a moment, then he understood, and sighed: "Master is the real practitioner. The Dharma is boundless. I didn't believe it before. Today, I saw that the master can dissolve the curse without showing supernatural powers or casting spells. I believe it. "

"I can't resolve the curse, only you can resolve it. Don't make the old monk great. The old monk is also a member of the vast number of sentient beings." Delin said, faintly pointing.

Mo Xian was stunned, but he still had doubts in his heart: "What does the master mean?"

"What do you think the Dharma is?" Durling asked.

Mo Xian froze for a moment, he really didn't think about this question, it seemed self-evident, but when Delin asked this question, he found that he didn't know how to answer it.

"Buddhism, the birth and death of all things is determined by causes and conditions. Without causes and conditions, there is no universe. The nature, society, and personal body and mind in the universe are born and destroyed by conditions. Extinction is the basic element that constitutes the birth and death of all dharmas. In a word, the Buddha Dharma refers to the phenomena and laws of the birth and death of everything in the universe. Therefore, it is said that the Buddha Dharma is boundless, not that the Buddha's magic power is vast, and the supernatural power is only one aspect. Yes, but insight into birth and death is due to karma." De Lin's words were completely different from Mo Xian's previous cognition.

This kind of statement is similar to what Mo Xian comprehended in "Tao Te Ching", but there is still a difference. Tao is the origin of the universe, and it generates the universe, but it is omnipresent. .

Buddhism takes cause and condition as the entry point, pays more attention to oneself, and distinguishes Buddha from sentient beings, depending on whether he can understand and grasp the principle of birth and death based on conditions to observe and deal with problems. If you can achieve this point, you are a Buddha, otherwise, you are a sentient being.

Therefore, Buddhism is not seeking others, but seeking oneself.Buddhism is the method of heart and earth, and only the heart can change karma.Dharma is not sought from the outside, it is sought from the heart——seek from the nature of mind, and respond to every request.Buddhism is called internal learning, and its principle is what the "Avatamsaka Sutra" says: All dharmas are only manifested in the mind and changed only in the mind.

Starting from itself, Buddhism regards the world as illusory and unreal, and everything is just the circulation of karma, thus including everything in the universe.

But Tao is different. Its foundation is Dao, everything is born of Tao, Tao is impersonal, the universe is born of Tao, and Tao is contained in all things in the universe.

Therefore, Taoism is fundamentally different from Buddhism, but with the confluence of Taoism and Buddhism, Taoism gradually absorbed some Buddhist viewpoints, and traced back, from nothingness to vacuum, and Buddhism is also absorbing some ideas of Taoism. In Buddhism, Only the Hinayana is the most basic, and the Mahayana has more or less developed Buddhism.

Esoteric Buddhism also absorbs heretics and speaks more mantras and mudras, so it is also called Shingon and Vajrayana, and many Buddhist sects consider it to be heretics.

Mo Xian has read all kinds of books on Taoist theory. After a period of time in the library, he gradually formed his views. Relatively speaking, the things about Buddhism are obviously insufficient.

Listening to Zen Master Delin's words today, I suddenly realized that since the body is a false union, the heart should also be a false union. If the body and mind are empty, then what is the curse?
It is just a little obsession of people in the Temple of Yama before they die, and it exerts a little effect with the help of pretending to fit the body and mind. You don't care about it, and it can't do anything to you.

But to understand is to understand, to really do it, everything is very difficult, people's body and mind are not under your control, how many upside-down dreams people have, people can't control, with Mo Xian's cultivation, it is impossible to do it at all, no wonder the master said, At the very least, I have to go to the inner scene level, and the inner scene will only be formed when the whole body is revealed.

Mo Xian didn't know why the master said that at first, but now he understands that practice is a further mastery of the body and mind. After the whole body is manifested, he can further master the functions of the body's organs. Ruyi control, stop if you want to stop, fast if you want, and the inner scene level, not only the mastery of the body, but also the mastery of the mind. Only when you reach an unprecedented level can you enter the dream and kill Rakshasa.

"Zen Master, I understand all this theoretically, but deep down in my heart, I still can't believe it. Difficult." Mo Xian said.

"That's right, people are stubborn. They know it's false, but they still want to admit it to be true. Fukuyama, can you tell me your story?" Chan Master Delin turned his head and said to a middle-aged monk.

"Yes, master!" Fukuyama Heshi said.

Fukuyama talked about a past event he had many years ago:
At that time, Fukuyama, who was still a young monk, learned to meditate, but soon after he entered meditative meditation, he felt a big spider come out to make trouble. No way, he had to ask the master for advice.

Fukuyama said: "Master, every time I enter into samadhi, a big spider comes out to make trouble, and I can't drive it away."

Delin said with a smile: "Then next time you enter the meditation, you will hold this pen in your hand. If the big spider comes out to make trouble again, you can draw a circle on its belly to see which monster it is."

Delin flipped his hand, and a pen appeared in his hand, shining with Buddha's light.

Hearing Zen Master Delin's words, Fukuyama was overjoyed and snatched the pen. Strange to say, as soon as the Buddha's light on the pen came into his hands, it immediately withdrew.

How is this going?Fukuyama watched suspiciously, and Delin smiled: "This is a pen with Buddha power. Now its Buddha light is restrained, and the Buddha light will appear when it works."

Once again, the big spider appeared again.Seeing this, Fukuyama was not polite, picked up a pen and drew a circle on the spider's belly as a symbol.

He saw a flash of Buddha's light, but as soon as the painting was finished, the big spider disappeared.Without the big spider, Fukuyama can settle down safely without any troubles.

After a long time, the little monk came out of samadhi and found that the circle mark drawn on the big spider's belly was impressively around his own navel.

At this time, Fukuyama realized that the saboteur giant spider who entered the samadhi did not come from the outside world, but from his own thoughts. And the so-called Buddha brush is just an illusion that Zen Master Delin used, it is an ordinary brush in itself, and the Buddha light he saw in meditation is just an illusion in his heart.

After Fushan finished talking about this matter, Mo Xian understood, and he was moved. For their own sake, it can be said that they enlightened themselves at any time. This is what Buddhist monks look like. People who practice Buddhism benefit all living beings, unlike some monks. In name for the sake of all beings, but doing evil things.

He thanked him again, and said: "Master Zen, and Master Fushan, you have put so much effort into saving an outsider. You really deserve to be a Buddhist."

"Donator is welcome, you are cursed and injured, even if you stay here."

"I'm staying here, but I can't just eat. Starting tomorrow, I have to work too. I don't work for a day, and I don't eat for a day!" Mo Xian said with a smile.

"Your injuries haven't healed yet," Fukuyama said.

"It doesn't matter. My body injury is not serious. If you move around, your blood will be invigorated, which is good for your health." Mo Xian said with a smile on his face.

The next day, Mo Xian was digging the soil in the vegetable field. He seemed to have returned to the days of chopping firewood in Tiansui Mountain. He was engrossed, like an old farmer. Seeing him concentrating, Delin's face showed a smile. Smiling, nodding secretly, Zen Buddhism pays attention to enlightenment in life, doing things is doing things, the so-called hungry to eat, thirsty to drink water, everything is concentrated on.

Time passed day by day, and in the blink of an eye, it had been more than half a month. During this period, Mo Xian's life was very ordinary, and his curse did not occur once. He became more familiar with the "Heart Sutra", and gradually realized some of its essence.

Now in his dream, although there is a Rakshasa, it has no effect on him. He also took the opportunity to open the Tianmen, and when the Tianmen opened, Qing Qi poured in, and his merit further improved.

He was weeding in the field when suddenly the hoe collapsed on the bricks. He reached out and took out the bricks from the ground, and with a flick of his hand, the bricks hit the bamboo with a sound of "snap". With a bang, like enlightenment, he realized.
