Chapter 1
In early spring and February, Hangzhou was bustling, but there were bursts of mournful cries in the downtown area.

"Grandpa! My miserable grandpa... Poor grandpa's bones are still cold, but he doesn't even have a coffin. How could he be thrown in a mass grave to feed wolves! God, you are too cruel..."

A little girl lowered her head and lay down on the dead body covered with straw mats, crying piteously, her thin body trembling, making her look even weaker in the cold wind.

"..." The passers-by who had heard the sound to see the excitement, their eyes turned red from the little girl's crying, dropped their loose money to hide their faces and left.

The little girl wiped her tears and thanked those kind people.

Suddenly a gust of wind blew up a corner of the straw mat covering the corpse, revealing a pair of slender legs wearing straw sandals and rolled-up trousers, but they were so tender that they did not look like the legs of a dead person.

The little girl lay on the ground and was gathering up the loose money. When she saw the exposed thin legs, she was startled. She rushed over to block it with her body, and hurriedly covered the straw mat again.

But she rushed too fast, and her whole body was pressed on the corpse. Suddenly, there was a muffled groan under the straw mat. The little girl seemed to be frightened, and hurriedly raised her voice and cried a few more times.

"Grandpa, there are still a lot of good people in Hangzhou..." Her crying successfully covered the muffled groan, and the blown straw mat was successfully covered.

A large carriage with an unpretentious appearance was driven by two horses into the city from the north gate with a "da, da" sound. When it entered the bustling long street, the coachman pulled up the reins and slowed down the speed of the car.

The little girl looked up at the carriage coming, and her kneeling body wanted to jump up and rush forward.

But before she could move, her little hand on the ground was pressed down by a slender palm that suddenly fell out of the straw mat.

Although she didn't use any force, it made her heart tense, she immediately lowered her head and lowered her body, even her crying was subdued.

At dusk at the end of the day, a dilapidated wooden cart came "creaking, creaking".

The one who was struggling to push the small cart was a thin boy in gray cloth and rough clothes, probably in his early ten years old.

The little girl was weeping without a sound, when she saw the skinny boy appear, she immediately stood up.

The two worked together to lift the corpse covered with straw mats onto the cart, and then pushed the cart to the south of the city together.

This was the case for three consecutive days. The vendors who set up stalls nearby thought it was unlucky to see the corpse and avoided it far away. No one paid attention to whether the corpse was dead or alive.

After leaving the south gate and entering a small forest, the corpse under the straw mat suddenly sat up and stretched.

"It's a good day to lie down, the old man's bones are frozen into popsicles." The voice was clear and lazy.

The little girl who was crying so loudly on the street just now burst out laughing.

"I'll lie down tomorrow instead." The skinny boy also smiled.

"I have been lying on the same ground for three days, and if I lie down again, I will be beaten."

The corpse was a tall, thin boy named Ding Shitou, wearing a patched rough shirt and straw sandals, his face was dirty, but his eyes were bright.

"If you pay the protection fee, you won't be beaten. You can lie down for as long as you want."

Suddenly jumped down from the tree a few juniors wearing flower silk padded jackets, the leader said with a smile.

"Brother, let me just say it's a scam on the street. You paid me back a penny. We have to pay back ten times."

"Ten times is not enough, I think the silver bills are packed in a small bag, less than ten taels!" The leader gave the follower a sideways look.

While talking, they surrounded the cart.

"I have always been the only one who hates me, and no one dares to eat me." Ding Shitou sneered proudly, suddenly squeezed his fist and swung the person who rushed over.
