Chapter 242 Achievement of Ghost Immortal

Chapter 242 Achievement of Ghost Immortal
Li Yizhi spread out the cassock, and saw a sutra embroidered in the center of the cassock:
"When I heard this, I asked the Buddha for a while, what is the merit? If I use the great thousands of worlds, the infinite treasures, and donate to the poor and the poor, so that the world will be peaceful, and everyone will be free from suffering, can I have merit? The Buddha said: There is no merit. Giving, good thoughts In order to seek blessings, don’t talk about blessings as merits. The merits are in the Dharmakaya, not in seeking blessings. Seeing nature is merit, equality is virtue, no stagnation in thoughts, common nature, real and wonderful uses, it is merit…”

"This is the cassock of merit and virtue. It tells the way of merit and virtue. Seeing one's nature clearly is merit and the virtue of understanding one's mind."

Li Yizhi muttered to himself suddenly, his mind was firmly attracted to the scriptures, and countless insights flooded into his heart for a while.

Although it seems that this scripture is a bit deviant and misinterprets the meaning of merit.

But from Li Yizhi's point of view, it is a real direct road.

What is merit?

Perhaps in the eyes of ordinary people, only doing good deeds is meritorious.

If seeing one’s nature is merit, and understanding one’s thoughts is achievement, then if a heinous villain can only understand one’s thoughts by killing people, then wouldn’t he have profound merits and virtues?

That’s right, it has profound merits and virtues!
It's just that this merit is only his personal merit.

The first sentence of the opening chapter of "The Doctrine of the Mean": The destiny is called nature, and the will is called Tao.

It means that a person’s natural character is called nature, and following nature to act is called cultivating the Tao.

This 'nature' has no distinction between good and evil.

Therefore, a good person who does good is cultivating the Tao, and a wicked person who does evil is also cultivating the Tao.

Because they all understand their 'nature', and then follow their nature to do things.

If my heart is evil, then doing evil is naturally conforming to my nature.

For practitioners, cultivating the Tao is cultivating the mind. As long as the thoughts are clear, the cultivation can naturally make rapid progress.

If good people are allowed to do evil, their thoughts will definitely be blocked; if evil people are allowed to do good, their thoughts will also be blocked.

Doing things against one's nature in this way is tantamount to going against the way, so how can one succeed in cultivation.

Everything in nature is divided into Yin and Yang.

There is good and there is evil in the world, both are Tao.

Heaven and earth are not benevolent, and all things are dogs.

There is no difference between good and evil for Dao.

The difference is for people.

Our man-made definition is that only doing good is merit, but in fact this is a misinterpretation of the meaning of merit.

After understanding these principles, Li Yizhi suddenly discovered that what he used to call martial arts beliefs and ambitions was actually the process of realizing merit and virtue, and also the process of making his thoughts clear.

Seeing one's nature clearly is gong, and understanding one's mind is virtue.

Li Yizhi confirmed his belief in martial arts and made great wishes, in fact, he was clearing his heart and seeing his nature.

And his step-by-step realization is to make his thoughts clear.

If it can't be completed, it means that the thoughts are not smooth, and the cultivation base can't grow naturally.

Even, if someone can be born with a clear mind, without reading or practicing, he can become a saint immediately.

Because there is no hindrance in his thoughts, he has become enlightened.

This is actually the same principle as the Buddhist saying "put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha immediately".

However, life is in the world, with all kinds of ties and obsessions, like countless ropes, firmly trapped on the body, unable to break free, how can one's mind be clear!

Why did Taoism prosper in ancient times?

A large part of the reason is that people at that time were simple-minded, so they were naturally suitable for cultivating the Tao.

"There is no good and no disgusting body, there are good and malicious movements. Knowing good and knowing evil is conscience, and eliminating evil for good is a matter."

Li Yizhi suddenly thought of these four maxims of Wang Yangming's mind learning, aren't they also talking about the way of merit and virtue!

Knowing good and knowing evil is conscience, which is to see one's nature clearly;
Removing evil for good is studying things, which is cultivating the Tao.

However, as a Confucian sage, Wang Yangming wanted to cultivate good deeds and virtues, so he wanted to 'get rid of evil'.

This does not violate the way of merit, because 'evil' is not Wang Yangming's nature.

"There are thousands of roads, and it turns out that all roads lead to the same goal!"

Li Yizhi sighed in his heart, he stood with his eyes closed, his soul was rapidly expanding and beating violently.

He felt that there seemed to be a huge barrier between the heaven and the earth, tightly wrapped around him, preventing him from seeing the original appearance of the world.

It's just that this barrier, which was extremely strong in the past, is like paper at this moment, and it can be broken by him with a poke.

boom!
Li Yizhi felt light all over, as if something that was fettered on him disappeared in an instant.

At this moment, Li Yizhi broke through life and death and became a ghost fairy!
At this moment, life and death are no longer scary!
It took a long time for Li Yizhi to open his eyes with joy.

The harvest this time is really great, not only is the "Now Tathagata Sutra" coming soon, but he also has the opportunity to become a ghost fairy all at once.

If he practiced step by step, he might not be able to break through in ten years.

From the south of the city, there was a loud sound of the city gate breaking.

This is Wei Lei's vanguard army finally arriving and breaking through into the city.

Li Yizhi walked briskly towards the tallest building in the center, only to realize that it was actually a royal palace.

It seems that this group of pirates have a lot of intentions, and they even tried to build a country here.

When Li Yizhi walked into the palace and found Hong Yi, he saw Hong Yi walking out excitedly holding a big Buddha statue.

This big Buddha statue is about five meters high, and its whole body is red and yellow. It can be seen that it is plated with red gold.

The big Buddha has big ears and shoulders, drooping eyebrows and eyes, sitting cross-legged on a twelve-petal lotus platform, with one hand hanging down, touching the ground, and the middle finger of the other hand. The ten fingers form a ring. I don't know what the seal is.

Hong Yi happily asked: "Brother Li, you are looking at the Buddha statue, is it what you are looking for?"

Li Yizhi looked at the Buddha statue and couldn't help but said happily: "Okay, okay, this is the Buddha statue. Hong Yi, thank you this time."

Hong Yi put the Buddha statue aside, quickly waved his hands and said, "Brother Li, what are you talking about? Without your teaching, I would not be where I am now. It's a trivial matter, so there is no need to say thank you."

Li Yizhi nodded, handed the cassock in his hand to Hong Yi, and said: "This cassock itself is a treasure. It can be invulnerable to swords, guns, water and fire. At the same time, there is a scripture of merit and virtue on it. You have to study it carefully. It will help you in the future." It is beneficial to practice. Oh, by the way, Wei Lei's vanguard army has also entered the city, you have to be prepared."

Hearing this, Hong Yi put on the cassock and said to the green battalion soldiers behind him: "Everyone is ready, if Wei Lei breaks into the palace, they will all be killed."

tread!tread!
A burst of dense footsteps came from a distance, and after a while, Wei Lei led a group of masters to rush in.

He looked at Hong Yi, couldn't help but his face became tense, pointed at Hong Yi with the Broken Mie Dao, and shouted: "Hong Yi, put down all your belongings, and then leave the palace, I can spare your life."

Looking at the packed items behind Hong Yi, Wei Lei couldn't help being surprised and angry.

You must know that the reason why he participated in this bandit suppression was not only to find an opportunity to get rid of Hong Yi, but the main reason was because he took a fancy to these pirates' wealth.

Because he received news that after the Great Zen Temple was destroyed, many monks fled here with a lot of books.

Therefore, among the items that Hong Yi packed, it is very likely that there are three volumes of supreme scriptures from the Great Chan Temple.

Hong Yi didn't talk nonsense, he raised the shark-slaying sword and shouted: "Kill, don't leave a single one behind."

"You are looking for death, kill!"

Wei Lei couldn't help shouting angrily, with murderous intent in his eyes.
