It is also commonly known as "keeping the system", that is, after the death of parents or grandparents in the old days, the son or eldest grandson stayed at home for 27 months.

Taken together, the most serious act of unfilial piety is marriage during the period of parental bereavement. "Household Marriage Law" says: "When parents and husbands are mourned and married, it will only be three years, and each will be separated."

The "Regulations of the Vocational System" stipulates: "The mourning system is not yet over, and Shi obeys auspiciousness. If you forget to mourn and have fun, you will be in prison for three years."

The so-called "forgetting sorrow and having fun" mainly refers to marriage. Marriage and funeral are weddings and funerals, rather than listening to operas and eating wine in the general sense. Of course, this is not good.

"Laws of the Tang Dynasty" stipulates: "When parents are in mourning, they are "miscellaneous performers for one year." Not only are they not allowed to marry during the funeral period, but children are also not allowed to marry during their parents' criminal imprisonment.

Therefore, in the Qing Dynasty, the management of this aspect was particularly strict, and you elder brothers are not allowed to do anything that violates the regulations during the filial piety period.
