Chapter 1 Preface
"36 Strategies" is a wonderful work of wisdom bred by the Chinese civilization for thousands of years. It is famous all over the world as a "strange book of strategy".In real life, if you mention the "36 strategies", I believe most people can list a few of them, such as scaring the grass to scare the snake, attacking the west by attacking the east, besieging the Wei and saving Zhao, diverting the tiger away from the mountain, fishing in troubled waters, killing people with a knife, etc. However, it is not possible for everyone to systematically and accurately point out the ins and outs of the 36 strategies and the essence of wisdom contained in them, and to apply them properly in the process of dealing with people.

The saying of "36 Strategies" predates the year when the book was written, and its etymology can be traced to Tan Daoji, a Song general in the Southern Dynasties (?—AD 436).According to legend, this man was famous for his resourcefulness and resourcefulness. He once fought against the army of the Northern Wei Dynasty. In the predicament of insufficient food and grass, he confuses his opponents with a realistic performance of "singing money and measuring sand", and finally the whole army retreats. ".According to the "Book of Southern Qi·Wang Jingze Biography" records: The Grand Sima Wang Jingze of the Southern Qi Dynasty rebelled, and Emperor Qiming and his son heard that the rebels were about to kill them in the palace, and wanted to flee in a hurry.Jing Ze had to report and said: "Tan Gong (Tan Daoji) 36 strategies, it is the best strategy to go, and your father and son can only take the ear in an emergency." This is the first time that "36 strategies" have been proposed. It can be deduced from this that the "1500 Strategies" had been formed no later than 36 years ago, and after being supplemented and improved, it was finally finalized in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. However, it is difficult to confirm the date and author of "36 Strategies".

Based on the "Tan Gong 36 Strategies" recorded in historical materials, when someone compiles "36 Strategies" into a formula to help memory, they start with "Jin Yu Tan Gong Policies". The formula in "36 Strategies" is: "Golden jade and sandalwood are used to catch thieves. Fish and snakes laugh in the sea, sheep and tigers are separated by peaches and mulberries. The tree is dark and foolish, and the cauldron is empty. Except for the three characters "Tan Gong Ce" in the formula, each character (the last sentence "Fa Guo" is regarded as one character) contains a trick.

According to the order of the formulas, they are: escape the shell of the golden cicada, attract jade by throwing bricks, borrow a knife to kill, wait for work with ease, catch a thief and catch a king, take advantage of the fire to rob, catch a thief at a closed door, fish in troubled waters, scare the snake by hunting the grass, cross the sea, cheat, hide the knife with a smile, lead the sheep by hand, turn the tiger away from the mountain, Li Daitao stiff, pointing at the mulberry and scolding the locust tree, watching the fire from the other side, on the tree Blooming, sneaking into the old storehouse, taking the lead, pretending to be crazy, playing hard to get, drawing salary from the bottom of the pot, empty city strategy, bitter strategy, long-distance and short-term attack, anti-customer, taking the ladder from the house, stealing beams and pillars, creating something out of nothing, beauty tricks, resurrecting the dead, attacking the west, besieging Wei and saving Zhao, serial tricks, and false roads. .
