Chapter 13 Late Heartbeat

Yu Sisi was stared deeply at by Gu Sihan, caught off guard by his eyes as deep as white mist.

The thumping heartbeat in the left chest was a bit noisy.

Yu Sisi's eyes began to flicker in panic, and she found an excuse in embarrassment: "It's just a name, what do you want to hear..."

The words "Gu Sihan" became extra heavy for some reason.

Yu Sisi's heart palpitated for a while, but she couldn't blurt it out calmly like usual.

"But you sound the best..."

Gu Sihan sighed, thinking that this stubborn little girl would not be obedient so easily, so he let go of the restraint, and the soft touch of Yu Sisi's face seemed to be still lingering on his fingertips.

When Yu Sisi thought of his name, a strange feeling of numbness kept lingering in Gu Sihan's heart. Maybe Yu Sisi was his belated heartbeat.

Escaping from Gu Sihan's warm fingertips, the sudden coolness on her cheeks made Yu Sisi tremble uncontrollably, she whispered, "Sihan?"

"Huh?" Gu Sihan's proud eyebrows gradually stretched, "Screw a few more times."

Yu Sisi took a deep breath, as if she had made up her mind: "Sihan... um!"

Gu Sihan felt that the gap in his heart was filled with the sweetest candy.

……

The air in the ward was filled with the strong smell of disinfectant.

The pale walls in the senior ward were extremely oppressive.

Gu Sihan stared solemnly at the frail old man lying on the hospital bed and wearing a ventilator.

The electrocardiogram machine beeped slowly and regularly, which made people feel a little flustered.

This old man who had been shrewd in the business world was finally defeated by the pain.

Even though old man Gu was in his dying years, his majesty remained undiminished. He waved his hand with difficulty, and the others nodded and left the ward voluntarily.

Old Master Gu tilted his head towards Gu Sihan tremblingly, his withered lips moved, as if he wanted to say something.

Gu Sihan stepped forward and leaned down, putting his ear close to Old Master Gu's ventilator.

"Sihan...the burden will fall on your shoulders from now on..." Mr. Gu's weak words fell into Gu Sihan's ears lightly, "And that Yu Sisi... cough cough!!"

Mr. Gu didn't catch his breath, followed by a rapid cough and the chaotic noise of the EKG machine. Gu Sihan was startled, and hurriedly tapped the emergency light on the bedside: "Doctor!!...Come here!!"

The originally silent ward of Mr. Gu fell into chaos.

Finally, the electrocardiogram machine gave a long, unwilling cry...

…………

……

Gu Baihui squatted down and hugged herself, buried her face low, and sobbed softly against the wall outside the ward.

The doctors and nurses around him walked in a hurry, everything was still so lively, but to Gu Baihui, it was shrouded in darkness.

This woman with delicate eyebrows and eyes full of arrogance and sharpness was crying helplessly and weakly at this moment.

In Gu Baihui's future memory, there was no such kind old man who would take out a piece of candy from his pocket when he was crying.

After Gu Sihan briefly explained the funeral, when he walked out of the ward again, his face was as usual, and there was no ripple on his cold face, as if nothing could pierce into his heart.

Gu Baihui raised her small face, stared at her younger brother who walked out of the ward with red and swollen eyes, her delicate brows were tightly knit, and she snapped, "Si Han! Do you really have a heart?"
