Chapter 23 Nephthys’ Wine
The oasis game is particularly lively at night.

Rare treasures brought by merchants, men performing magic to make money, young men and women dating, tribal children running around...

Seth followed the flow of people and walked to a stall selling barbecue.

To Seth's surprise, Seth smelled a fishy smell in front of this stall.

However, there was no grilled fish or fish at the stall.

Only roasted wolf meat, snake meat, and camel meat.

Taking a closer look, Seth determined the source of the smell.

There is oil in a clay pot. After some barbecues are grilled, some oil will be drizzled on the guests' requests.

That oil has a fishy smell.

Seth didn't like the taste very much, but he remembered what it was.

It is cold pressed flaxseed oil.

If it is fried and pressed, it becomes sesame oil.

"Two skewers of barbecue," Seth said.

"Want that kind?" the stall owner asked.

"Snake and wolf meat." Seth didn't like the taste of camel meat.

After giving the money and the meat, Seth walked forward and ate the meat.

The barbecue was good, but it lacked salt.

It's a pity that it can't be used as a side dish.

After quickly getting rid of the barbecue in his hands, Seth spotted another stall selling stewed meat.

However, before I even bought it, I was persuaded to leave by the stall owner’s dark fingernails.

Poor hygiene, bad review!
Turning around and leaving, Seth was about to move forward.

A man with a pointed mouth and monkey cheeks came closer and whispered.

"Brother, do you want to watch something exciting?"

Seth was stunned for a moment, then became dissatisfied. Does he look very unruly?
Seeing that Seth was silent, the man pointed his hand not far away and said with a lewd smile.

"She will be appearing soon, how beautiful she is!"

Out of curiosity, Seth looked in the direction the man pointed.

Next to a relatively secluded tent, a woman wearing a light gauze skirt stood there, smiling lightly at Seth.

She has soft facial features and a red flower pattern painted on her forehead, which is unique and charming.

Seth withdrew his gaze and confirmed with the wretched man: "Are you talking about the person with the red flower pattern on his forehead?"

The wretched man nodded vigorously: "It's her, isn't she beautiful!"

"The ticket only costs fifty copper coins, and nineteen people have already paid."

"With one more person, we can start a fight."

Hearing this, Seth twitched the corners of his mouth and turned away.

The wretched man thought Seth was too expensive, so he chased after him and said, "Brother, fifty copper coins are too expensive for you, how about forty-nine?"

Seth stood still with a dark face and whispered: "You think I can't tell, that's a man!"

This sentence made the wretched man so embarrassed that he stopped pestering him.

But Seth was very depressed. He concealed his original appearance, and the young man he transformed into didn't look like a pervert.

People would actually come over to watch the show.

When he was depressed, Seth walked to a wine stall and bought a ceramic cup of wine to taste.

The fruity wine eased Seth's somewhat depressed mood.

"Brother Seth."

At this time, Seth heard someone calling him.

Following the voice, I turned around and saw a woman with a soft face wearing a blue and white dress.

"Nephthys, why are you here?" Seth was shocked.

"I'm here to find you." Nephthys' eyes were filled with resentment.

Seth didn't know what to say, so he just said oh.

Then there was a long silence.

In fact, Set wanted to ask Nephthys if he had received the letter.

And when did she come and whether she saw what just happened.

But, I can’t ask! "Brother Seth, let's go shopping together." Nephthys said to break the silence.

"Okay." Seth did not refuse.

As they walked, Seth took a sip of wine.

The market at night was still lively, and the wines that tasted good remained the same, but Seth wanted to leave.

"Brother Seth, where is Bethet?" Nephthys asked, "Don't you guys play together?"

At first glance, Set didn't realize why Nephthys asked Best.

Then he remembered that he seemed to have said that he liked Best.

"She went to the nearby oasis to play tricks on people." Seth had no choice but to continue: "We agreed that I would wait for her here."

"She doesn't know why, but she always wants to play tricks on humans."

"Brother Seth, don't you like what Beth is doing?" Nephthys asked expectantly.

"I don't like it." Seth shook his head, but put on a happy expression on his face: "But this is her hobby, so I can only follow her."

"Seeing her happy makes me happy too."

Fortunately, he had read a lot of love manuals before, so he could easily pick someone to pretend to be in love!
The anticipation in Nephthys's eyes turned into disappointment, and she said nothing more.

The two walked forward side by side.

When passing by a stall selling stewed meat, Nephthys said, "Brother Seth, buy some of this."

"Okay." Seth did not refuse.

When he just passed by, he observed the hygienic condition of this stew restaurant and found that the seams between his fingers were clean.

I bought a clay pot of stewed meat, and the flavor of the compound spices added to the aroma of the meat.

Nephthys looked at Seth seriously and said, "Brother Seth, let's go to a deserted place to eat."

"Yeah." Seth agreed.

Leaving the oasis and arriving in the empty desert.

Nephthys casually made tables and chairs out of stones, and took out a clay pot engraved with images of the undead.

"This is the beer I brewed with my divine power, Brother Seth, try it."

"Okay." Seth nodded.

After sitting down, Seth divided the stew in the clay pot between two bowls.

Nephthys opened the mud seal on the wine jar.

A mellow smell instantly filled Seth's breath.

Seth frowned unconsciously and looked at Nephthys: "The wine you brewed with your own hands?"

"Yes." Nephthys smiled and said, "Brewed for Brother Set."

Hearing this, Seth did not ask any more questions and only said: "Nephthys, you should have received the letter I gave you."

The hand holding the wine paused, and Nephthys said, "Yes."

"But I want to see you."

The golden ale was poured into the earthenware cup, and Nephthys placed the wine in front of Set, with tears in her eyes.

"Brother, I want you to try it."

“My heart was poured into it.”

Seth didn't move and said coldly: "I like Best."

"So I can't accept your intention."

"Nephthys, go back to Heliopolis."

"Go to Hathor. Her authority will allow you to see yourself clearly."

Nephthys shed tears and looked at Set almost pleadingly.

"I will go, but you must taste the wine I brew for you."

Glancing at the wine in front of him, Seth shook his head: "No, I should go."

After saying that, Seth turned and left.

In the blink of an eye, Seth disappeared.

Nephthys' face was filled with sadness. She quietly packed up everything and left.

After Nephthys left completely, Seth's figure reappeared here.

Is it my own illusion?
In the wine brewed by Nephthys, Seth actually sensed the scent of Apep!
