White tea legend

Chapter 99 Lan Gu’s compassion dies

At the foot of the mountain, the plague is rampant in the world like a devil, ruthlessly taking away countless lives and bringing deep despair. It does not distinguish between the old and the weak, women and children, rich and poor, high and low, and invades every corner unscrupulously.

In the city, the streets were empty, the shops were closed, and the bustle of people in the past was replaced by a dead silence. People were hiding in their homes, weeping, looking through the window lattice with fearful eyes, as if they could see the God of Death wandering around the streets, harvesting lives at will.

In the countryside, the situation is even more bleak. The disease is like a strong wind, sweeping through the rice fields and wheat fields, leaving a mess. Farmers sighed helplessly in the face of withered crops. They were helpless and could only watch as a year's hard work was about to disappear. The disease spread to livestock, and cattle and sheep all over the mountains and plains fell down in mourning. The sound was shrill and sad, which chilled people's hearts.

In the medical center, doctors are working day and night, trying to save all sentient beings with limited medical knowledge. Unfortunately, poor medical conditions and the ferocity of the epidemic make their efforts often in vain. The cries of the patients and the pleadings of their families merged into an elegy of hell on earth, resounding through the sky.

News of drug shortages and ineffective treatments keep coming, and each time it is like a heavy hammer blow to the heart, suffocating.

In temples and palaces, people knelt down and prayed, begging the gods not to close their eyes to this suffering world. The voice of prayer echoed in the empty hall, and the echo was lonely and desolate.

These are the sequelae after the flood.

And the flood has not passed yet, and it will come out to wreak havoc on the world in a short period of time. The world is trapped in pain and despair such as floods, plagues, diseases, famines, etc. The land of Kyushu is littered with corpses, and there are sad cries everywhere.

A middle-aged woman, wearing a simple blue dress, walked in the devastated village, like the only cloud in the blue sky, still flying even after the storm.

The plague has no emotions. It cruelly took away the lives of many people and ruthlessly tore apart countless people who loved each other. Under the torture of the disease, people gradually lost the luster of life, and eventually their families were destroyed.

The woman in blue looked at all that and shed tears, every drop of which was a sign of deep sympathy and pity for the deceased.

Among the victims, there are too many families who have lost their loved ones. They were displaced, starved and diseased. But in such a desperate situation, the woman in blue became their source of strength.

"Aunt Lan! Aunt Lan!"

People shouted the name of the woman in blue.

Lan Gu wiped away her tears, held her chest with both hands, drew the power of compassion from the compassionate heart in her chest, and then touched everyone in need of help with her compassionate hands.

She shared the pain of others with her compassion. She uses her actions to interpret the great love in the world and tells people around her that they should not give up hope even in the face of suffering.

When the children in the village saw Lan Gu walking through the ruins, tears were still on her face, but her eyes were extremely firm.

She gently sang a lullaby to the children. Although the melody was sad, it revealed a kind of power - it was an ode to life and a tribute to the deceased.

The children followed her, infected by her courage, and a glimmer of hope began to ignite in their hearts.

Lan Gu's figure became their motivation and hope to survive.

After years of floods and plagues, the world has become unrecognizable. The rippling blue river turned into a raging tide, and the gentle land turned into a ruthless quagmire. And the deep mountains and old forests that once gave people faith and hope have also given birth to new terrors - hungry monsters descending from the mountains one after another, spreading more death and despair to the places where humans live.

Some of these monsters are fierce beasts of different shapes, and some may be legendary monsters. They were originally hidden deep in the mountains and forests, maintaining a delicate balance with human society.

However, when floods submerged the caves they relied on for survival, and when plagues took away the prey they relied on for food, hunger prompted them to embark on a path of conflict with humans. Their eyes flashed with hunger and madness, their mouths opened wide, and they charged towards villages and towns with ferocious roars.

In the village, the villagers who have not yet recovered from the plague are once again facing a severe test. The ferocious monsters destroyed their homes, forcing them to take up arms to defend their lives. But their weak bodies and limited weapons put them at an absolute disadvantage. The miserable howls and the roars of the monsters intertwined into a miserable situation.

The old man sacrifices his life to lure the enemy to protect the safety of his grandchildren; the young mother kills the monsters that invade her home and protects her infant baby; and the strong young people unite as one, lay traps, and outwit the enemy.

Men, women, old and young used torches and farm tools, and used courage and wisdom to jointly resist the attack of the monsters. But the chance of winning in a battle between humans and monsters is slim, and they are just living towards death...

someday.

The afterglow of the setting sun had not completely faded away, and a ferocious monster quietly approached the village. Its eyes shone with hunger, and its huge body left deep footprints in the soil. The villagers panicked and fled in all directions, hoping to avoid the coming disaster. In the chaos, a little boy, no more than four or five years old, fell to the ground, crying and looking for his mother. The monster has a keen sense of smell. It turned to the lonely child and let out a low and threatening roar.

At this life-or-death moment, Lan Gu appeared like a phantom between the child and the monster. There was no fear in her eyes, just a strong determination and respect for life. The long stick in her hand was as steady as a mountain, as if it were a shield, protecting the helpless little life.

Lan Gu said to the monster in a firm but gentle voice: "Poor beast, I can understand your hunger, but I will not let you hurt this child."

The monster was shocked by Lan Gu's courage, and its fury seemed to have restrained, but this did not make Lan Gu relax her vigilance.

Lan Gu slowly backed away, protecting the child while luring the monster away from the crowd.

Lan Gu retreated to an open place with the monster, where the flickering fire was the fire she had prepared in advance.

The flames danced in the dark night, casting flickering light and shadow. Lan Gu used the flames and her own mobility to launch a clever battle with the monster. Her figure loomed in the firelight, and every dodge cleverly guided the monster closer to the flames. Finally, in a violent impact, the monster accidentally touched the fire, and the pain caused it to retreat.

Lan Gu took a deep breath, and held out a ball of gentle light from her chest in her palm, with faint ripples like water waves in the light.

This light seems to carry the harmonious power of nature, slowly pushing towards the monster. Under the shroud of that power, the tense posture of the monster gradually relaxed. It seemed to feel a sense of peace that it had never experienced before, and its low roar gradually became softer.

Just as it turned around to walk back into the depths of the forest, a sense of hunger suddenly rose in its belly, forcing it to turn around and frantically pounce on the young child in the distance.

Soon after, Lan Gu flew away and stood between the monster and the child.

However, countless monsters came from all directions and surrounded Lan Gu and the children.

The children panicked, cried and ran away.

The monsters opened their mouths. They were attracted by the cries of the children. They chased the children and made blood-curdling roars.

The helpless children were trapped in the circle of monsters. The monsters rushed towards them, and each of their small bodies seemed particularly insignificant under the huge body of the monsters. The children's cries gradually became fainter, but the roars of the monsters became more and more excited.

Just as the children were about to be devoured by the monsters, a dazzling light pierced the sky.

It's Aunt Lan!

"Compassion!"

With a cry, she took out a light blue ball from her chest with both hands, and used her mysterious magic. A powerful wave of energy shook the monster away, saving the child who was about to be torn apart.

The monsters turned to attack Lan Gu.

The battle quickly unfolded, flames and light intertwined in the air, and a deafening roar broke out. The monsters took turns in the battle, and their flames were as hot as lava, constantly burning the shield around Lan Gu. Although Lan Gu tried her best to maintain the light of the sphere in her hand, the consumption of power made her feel more tired than ever before.

Finally, under the fierce attacks one after another, the blue sphere that was once as bright as a star gradually dimmed. The light dissipated little by little until it was completely extinguished.

Lan Gu's figure also became blurred in the thick smoke and firelight. Her strength seemed to have been exhausted and she could no longer support her flight.

On the ground, the villagers witnessed this scene and felt endless despair and grief in their hearts. Their guardian, the female Bodhisattva in blue who had saved them from danger countless times, was now defeated in the fight against these ruthless monsters.

Lan Gu's body slowly fell from the air. At that moment, time seemed to stand still, and the whole village fell into silence and sadness.

Lan Gu's body fell to the ground, and the monsters surrounded her excitedly. Their hungry stomachs were finally about to receive a delicious meal——
