Chapter 16 Diary
The weather was fine over the weekend, and Yan Shuang sat lazily in the back seat of the car, soaking his entire body in the sunshine.

It has always been cloudy recently, and it is rare to have such good weather. Their father Yan Lu and mother Ruan Xue thought about going back to their old house in their hometown to pack some things and take them home.

It happened that Yan Shuang didn't have to work overtime, so he took her with him.

The two cities are not far apart, but their urban construction is very different. Just after getting off the expressway, rapeseed flowers and winter jasmine flowers on the roadside decorated both sides of the road into two golden avenues.

It makes the early spring, which is still a bit chilly, look particularly warm.

"I haven't been back for several years, and it's still the same." Ruan Xue looked out the window and sighed to her husband.

"That means this city has never developed well." Yan Lu answered his wife's words while driving.

Ruan Xue knew he would say this, rolled her eyes at her husband, and said: "It is developing every day, so we don't need to rest? It would be great to have such a place to heal the soul in the city.

After saying that, she turned around and said, "Yes, Xiaoshuang."

She wanted no part of it, and the couple flirted non-stop the entire time. Yan Shuang responded vaguely and continued to look out the window in trance.

She doesn't have that deep memory of her hometown. In fact, thinking this way is a bit forgetting her roots. After all, she grew up in this city until she was sixteen before going to high school and college in another city.

However, she really couldn't remember many things about her hometown.

At that time, Ruan Xue and Yan Lu came to that city to rent and then buy a house in order to accompany her to school, and they have since settled there. They came back several times during the trip, but Yan Shuang almost never came back to his hometown because of his busy studies and work.

She sometimes thought about coming back with them, but her parents always said no, work was the most important thing, so the matter was dropped.

To be honest, it's not that she doesn't want to remember, but that no matter how she recalls and imagines it in recent years. It always felt like there was a gap between her elementary school and high school years.

For example, she remembers this road now, but she doesn't remember some things that happened on this road so clearly.

Also, she can remember her childhood playmates. But my recollections of some people, things, and things in junior high school are all vague.

She once asked her mother, but the answer she received was always that she was still young at that time and could not remember it very well.

She also asked Lin Xiao what their junior high school years were like. Lin Xiao always said that she was like a wild horse that had escaped the reins at that time, and she couldn't pull it back. If she asked more questions, Lin Xiao would start to get annoyed and would never talk to her again.

She tried to ask her father, but was immediately dissuaded by his way of speaking that made sense.

In fact, it is normal for people not to remember a certain part of their memory. This sentence kept appearing in her mind, but she forgot who said it to her.

"We're here." Yan Lu stopped the car and said to his wife and daughter.

After getting out of the car, Yan Shuang looked at his old house, which was a two-story duplex.

The housing prices in this city were not high. At that time, Yan Lu and Ruan Xue gritted their teeth and bought it for the sake of a better life for their children.

But after so many years, the exterior walls of this house have become somewhat mottled, and the yard is overgrown with weeds. It looks like it has not been taken care of for a long time.

"Tsk, tsk, in the past few years you hired people to clean it every year, but these few years you don't want to worry about it at all." Ruan Xue pushed open the courtyard door with her fingertips, not wanting to dirty her hands.

"Just telling me, you yourself have completely forgotten about the house here." Yan Lu protested. This home does not belong to him alone.

Even so, as soon as he entered the yard, he started to kick away or trample the weeds in the yard with his feet. He probably couldn't stand it anymore.

Ruan Xue took out the key, opened the door on the first floor, and pushed it open.

Just as the door opened, Yan Shuang followed Ruan Xue, looking at the old furniture in the living room on the first floor, a picture suddenly flashed in his mind. In this scene, they were in the living room of the old house, and their mother Ruan Xue was furious and threw the cup on the table to the ground. Father Yan Luze was sitting on the sofa, smoking a cigarette with a complicated and angry expression.

Yan Shuang, on the other hand, was kneeling straight on the ground. From her back, it could be seen that she exuded a stubborn aura.

"Go inside, what are you doing standing at the gate?"

His father's strict voice suddenly penetrated into his consciousness, and Yan Shuang suddenly woke up.

It was such a real scene, she could feel the depressing atmosphere at that time. However, in Yan Shuang's memory, she had never been punished by her mother to kneel down!
Ruan Xue is not a parent who will corporally punish his children casually. Unless Yan Shuang really did something extraordinary.

After she regained consciousness, she quickly walked into the living room.

As soon as Ruan Xue and Yan Lu entered the door, they rolled up their sleeves and started cleaning.

The three of them will stay here tonight. With the way the house is in such a mess, I might have to clean it up at night before I can have a good rest.

Picking up the clean rag Ruan Xue brought, Yan Shuang also started to help wipe the table. When the white cloth covering the furniture was lifted, a thick feeling of dust hit my face.

"Ahem." Yan Shuang choked, quickly picked up the mask and put it on, and handed two to his parents.

"Go and clean your own room. Your dad and I will just clean here." Ruan Xue assigned her a task.

"Ok."

After listening to her mother's words, Yan Shuang walked up to the second floor, held a rag and pushed open the door of her room.

"Hey! What a big dust!"

The room was not big, and there were posters on the wall of celebrities she had followed when she was a child. Because it took so long, several corners of the poster were turned up.

Yan Shuang pulled off the poster neatly and asked, "Why are there words at the back?"

The poster she tore off had a small line of words written in black pen on the back. The handwriting was neat, but the color was too light and it was difficult to figure out what was written.

"I won't...what, what...let it go." Yan Shuang almost hit the poster in his eyes, and couldn't see clearly what was written in that line.

Forget it, these words were her own. She couldn't write anything meaningful at that time. At most, she was just moaning because of the second grade disease.

Throwing the poster outside the room, she moved her eyes to her desk.

Use the somewhat rusty key to open the middle drawer. Hey! Look at it this way, there are a lot of treasures inside!

Use two fingers to pinch out what looks like a book on the top of the drawer. Use your fingers to twist the pages. What's this? Why is it so fancy?
There are words written with pens of various colors, and there are also various patterns cut out from unknown places, or a passage from a certain edition of the newspaper.

Piecing together pages and pages of a girl’s thoughts? Yan Shuang couldn't bear to look directly at those three large fluorescent exclamation marks.

No, she used to be so patient and "tasteful"?

The bench hadn't been wiped yet, so Yan Shuang bent over and slowly turned it down with two fingers. This was extremely exaggerated, and there was no white space at all.

Cartoon patterns and highlighters appear on it at the same time, making this book seem lively and crowded.

Yan Shuang couldn't help but shake her head and turned to the next page with a smile.

Suddenly, just like the gorgeous fireworks coming to an abrupt end, all the colors in the notebook just now disappeared.
  Only what remains.
By the way, everyone probably liked doing accounting when they were young, right?
