Chapter 387 Six Dusts

when--

when--

……

The melodious bells rang, spreading from Xiaoleiyin Temple throughout Huishan with the power to cleanse the soul.

It was the sixth quarter of Yin hour, and the night patrol monk rang the bell four times in the bell tower to remind the monks in the temple to wake up.

Last night, the Bodhisattva explained many rules and regulations in the temple to his only disciple. Someone had a photographic memory before, and it was difficult to pretend to have forgotten it today.

Chu Jun returned to his mother and got up, put on the "seven clothes" given to him by the Bodhisattva, and scooped out a ladle of water from the bucket in the Zen room.

The spring water in Huishan is very clear, and the clarity of the human figure reflected in the water is no worse than that of a bronze mirror.

He looked at himself and returned the ladle of water in disappointment... Strangely enough, the hair on his head showed no signs of growing.

"There's obviously no ring scar left!"

Chu Junhui simply washed up and went out to the Main Hall.

There are two places to worship Buddha statues and collect incense in Xiaoleiyin Temple. One is the Tianwang Hall, which houses the former Buddha and several famous Bodhisattvas in the past.

The second is the Mahavira Hall, where the current Buddha and twelve Bodhisattvas are enshrined. The reason why Arhats are not enshrined is because they only seek upwards and do not transform downwards.

The ability of Arhats to help sentient beings fulfill their vows is more than inferior to that of Bodhisattvas... In layman's terms, they are ineffective.

Believers are definitely willing to worship something that is efficacious, but not willing to worship something that is ineffective.

Therefore, in order to accumulate more incense, various temples generally enshrine Buddha and Bodhisattva.

The main hall has nine or five rooms, symbolizing the nine-five supreme being. As a good citizen of the Shang Kingdom, Chu Junhui wanted to shake his head when he saw this arrangement.

If the person enshrined in the Mahavira Palace is the most noble and noble person in the world, then who is the king of the Shang Kingdom?

tui~How to be a king without any dignity at all?

Look at the king of Dayu. He is so powerful that no one dares to disobey him. If anyone dares to call him the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" openly, the scoundrels of Jingnan Division will kill him overnight.

There is a tripod standing in front of the main hall, with the four words "Xiao Leiyin Temple" printed on it.

This tripod also has a saying.

It is said that Buddhism in this world was introduced from the "Dragon Cave" in the west. The first Buddha, the "World Honored One", practiced hard in the Dragon Cave. After attaining enlightenment, he meditated in the Dragon Cave and traveled eastward to preach.

When he first arrived in the Central Plains, he asked which weapon was the most important and which was the most expensive. Nine out of ten people from the Central Plains told him that it was the tripod.

From then on, the Buddha designated the tripod as a noble instrument within the religion, and asked his disciples to use the tripod to engrave the name of the Taoist order, hoping that one day, the tripod could be placed in the Central Plains and the word "Buddha" could be engraved there.

Chu Jun walked around the tripod and walked into the main hall.

He was absent-minded all the way. He didn't see any monks on the way and didn't realize anything was wrong. Only then did he realize that he was the last one to rush to the main hall.

All the monks turned to look at him.

That look in Chu Junhui's eyes was extremely familiar... When he was late for class before, that's how the whole class looked at him.

"It shouldn't be..."

He didn't have much time to remember after hearing the bell, and hurried over.

Unless these bald guys didn't wash up, lifted up their quilts and ran to the main hall, there was no way they could be faster than him.

At this time, the leader of the Vinaya Academy performed a Buddhist salute to the Bodhisattva standing under the Buddha statue, and then said: "I am late, so I will be punished by carrying a pond of water."

Xiaoleiyin Temple built a pond with water storage. Each pond has about twenty buckets of water. Going to the mountains to fetch twenty buckets of water is not a heavy punishment for a person with martial arts. The warning is more important than the punishment. But the Bodhisattva refused such an arrangement.

"When Zhiwu first entered the wall, he failed to eradicate the six dusts, so he spent more time cleaning himself. It was not a deliberate neglect and does not need to be punished."

The initial stage of Buddhist monks' practice is to "remove the six dusts", "clear the six roots" and "mutate the six consciousnesses".

The so-called "six dusts" refer to color, sound, smell, taste, touch, and law; the "six roots" refer to the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind; and the "six consciousnesses" are eye consciousness, ear consciousness, and nose consciousness. , tongue consciousness, body consciousness, consciousness.

Ordinary people's bodies are sunk in a sea of suffering, and the sea of suffering is dirt. So when you wake up, there will be dirt in your eyes, ears, and nose.

After practicing, everything is different.

After removing the six dusts, a person's eyes, nose, ears, mouth, skin and "heart" will become self-cleansing, making it difficult for dust to fall away.

In the sea of suffering, the human body will no longer sink as before, but can float in the sea of suffering.

The physical body has become a small boat that can carry the human soul floating on the sea of suffering.

This stage corresponds to Taoism’s “washing out the essence and cutting down the marrow.”

For many people who practice Confucianism and Taoism, their temperament will gradually become completely different from ordinary people.

It’s not that there are magical metaphysical factors in it. In fact, it can be understood with a very simple principle... Monks and Taoist priests will not have bad breath if they don’t wash up, and most people in this era do not have the habit of brushing their teeth. If you stand in front of someone, you will definitely feel more comfortable if you are a practitioner.

Xiaoleiyin Temple can grow fifteen-step lotus, and it is known to Bodhisattvas.

The monks in their temple are not said to be good at fighting, but their level of Buddhism is definitely not low.

There was not even a single person here who had not eliminated the "six dusts", including those eight or nine-year-old novice monks. This also caused the head of the Discipline Academy to misjudge the normal time it would take for a new monk to arrive at the main hall.

After the Bodhisattva opened his mouth, he realized his omissions, admitted his fault, and asked himself to clean the roof walls...

The Bodhisattva agreed, and then, under her leadership, the morning class officially began.

The Bodhisattva stood closest to the Buddha statue and led the crowd in chanting sutras. Behind her were the monks in red. They were basically the same generation as the head of the Discipline Academy and the old abbot.

After the monk in red are the monks in yellow. They are basically the disciples of the monk in red.

At the bottom of the list are the monks in blue. Apart from the group of young novice monks, the only one in this group is Chu Junhui.

As a big man standing among a group of little ones, he felt like he was standing in a flock of chickens. He looked like a delinquent who dominated the kindergarten.

There was a familiar face among the group of novice monks, it was the "Zhishen" who opened the door for him before.

This little kid would glare at Chu Jun from time to time, making him very uncomfortable.

Chu Junhui seized the opportunity and suddenly made a face, scaring the little one so much that he screamed.

The chanting in the main hall stopped, and the monk in blue once again became the focus of the audience. Chu Junhui was in the center of the spotlight, and he also had a strange face, so naturally he could not escape the judgment.

This time the Bodhisattva did not save him and allowed him to be punished to clean the roof wall for a day.

After the morning classes, the other monks went to the dining hall to eat, but Boss Chu didn't go. He went to the Pure House to go to jail.

The cell in Xiao Leiyin Temple is quite unique, with a table, a lamp, a futon and a book.

Chu Jun turned around and opened the book. The fonts on the book looked familiar. They were not only nine percent similar to the fonts on "The Vajra Body of the Precious Machine Tathagata" he read last night, but they were also very similar.

——That is the Bodhisattva’s record of his experience in eliminating the six dusts.
