Chapter 57 Ambition
"Senior Brother Jieshuai, can you help me find a scripture?"

"Senior Brother Jieshuai, why is this Buddhist saying different from what I understand? Can you explain it?"

"Senior Brother Jieshuai, I don't understand this story. Can you tell me what it means?"

"Senior Brother Jieshuai..."

In the Sutra-Tibetan Pavilion, there were calls of "Senior Brother Jie Shuai" affectionately echoed. The intervals were as long as an hour, and sometimes less than a quarter of an hour apart.

Chen Shuai, who was on the second floor, felt helpless as he listened to the shouts coming from downstairs. This new Jie Nan was so easy to learn!

At the beginning, Jie Nan was relatively quiet. He kept the first floor in good order and did things in an orderly manner, which was no worse than Jie Se.

But as Jie Nan gradually became familiar with various matters on the first floor, he began to look through the scriptures on the first floor.

Although he knew how to read, given his age, he could barely understand these words alone, let alone when they were connected together, which was obviously beyond the scope of his knowledge.

As a last resort, Jie Nan asked the other monks who came to the first floor to read while reading the scriptures. It can be said that during this period, there was no monk who came to the first floor to read without being asked questions by Jie Nan.

Once or twice is okay, but dozens or hundreds of times a day some monks feel impatient. Everyone's time is precious, and they are not willing to waste it on answering questions.

So he either simply said that he didn't know, or refused Jie Nan directly. Later, someone directly asked Jie Nan to find Chen Shuai, saying that Chen Shuai had read most of the scriptures on the first floor and had a deep understanding of them. .

When he learned that Chen Shuai used to be a monk guarding the pavilion on the first floor, he would not let go of the scroll every day. Jie Nan immediately ran to the second floor. It turned out that Chen Shuai was the same when he was on the second floor. From then on, Jie Nan focused his questions on Chen Shuai. Handsome.

Not to mention one day, just one morning, after Jieyong finished his work, he started bombarding inquiries like bullets, which made Chen Shuai's ears hallucinate. He always felt like Jieyong was buzzing at him like a mosquito underneath.

If Jie Nan had asked the question once and stopped asking, Chen Shuai would not be so troubled. The key is that the other party would ask the same question many times, and he likes to get into trouble and ask too many questions. Even if Chen Shuai has such a calm mind, It will inevitably lead to boredom.

However, boredom turned to boredom, and Chen Shuai would eventually answer the other party's question. He told the other party that it was best to take notes after asking, so as not to forget. After doing so, he became much more cute.

Looking at Jie Nan going downstairs, Chen Shuai couldn't help but shake his head. He heard Jie Zhi say that the reason why Jie Nan was able to stay as stupid and useless as he was, was because he had nowhere to go after he went down the mountain, and there was only one left in the vast world. He was left alone, and Kong Shan felt pity for him and allowed him to stay.

"Compared to him, at least I am lucky. I grew up in the Buddha Temple. I am like a flower in a greenhouse. My master and brothers are all very good. Now I have a golden finger, which allows me to practice."

Thinking of this, many of the depressed emotions caused by the difficulty of quitting disappeared instantly. Unknowingly, Chen Shuai looked down upon a lot, looked down upon a lot, and was content with what he had.

As a result, the posture of sweeping the floor became happy. Some monks passing by felt the change in Chen Shuai and looked at each other in surprise. They didn't understand. Is sweeping the floor so happy?

You are not a fish, and you do not know the happiness of fish; you are not me, and you do not know my happiness.

"Senior Brother Jieshuai, why are you giggling?" A sudden voice interrupted Chen Shuai, who was immersed in his own world. It turned out to be Jiezhi.

Jiezhi saw Chen Shuai giggling while sweeping the floor and reading a book. He couldn't help but walked over out of curiosity and asked.

After being interrupted, Chen Shuai came back from his happy mood and looked at Jie Zhi with resentment, making Jie Zhi feel a little at a loss.He scratched his head and asked: "Senior Brother Jieshuai, I saw you smiling as soon as I entered the door. Why are you laughing?"

"Junior Brother Jie Zhi, you see that I am smiling, but actually I am not smiling. Form is emptiness, emptiness is form, Amitabha." Chen Shuai replied.

Looking at Chen Shuai, who was showing off his Buddhism again, Jiezhi covered his forehead, his head hurt a little. This question was a bit difficult for him.

"Hey, senior brother Jiezhi."

At this time, Jie Nan, who had just gone down not long ago, walked up softly and couldn't help shouting when he saw Jie Zhi.

Jie Zhi was very satisfied with Jie Nan's title. He smiled at him and asked, "Are you looking for Senior Brother Jieshuai?"

Jie Nan nodded, and then told Chen Shuai about his confusion. When Jie Nan said that he had a problem, Jie Zhi planned to show off, but found that he couldn't understand the question asked by Jie Nan at all, so he had to look at Chen Shuai.

Chen Shuai answered the question of Jie Zhi in just a few words, which not only made Jie Zhi return home with great satisfaction, but also enlightened Jie Zhi who was watching. Of course, with Chen Shuai's understanding of Jie Zhi, he would automatically block the situation soon after his sudden enlightenment, and no one could stop him. Can't live.

"Junior brother Jie Nan is really eager to learn!"

Jie Zhi couldn't help but sigh, if he had been so studious back then... let's forget it, it's pretty good now.

After hearing these words, Chen Shuai smiled and said nothing. Jie Neng was indeed eager to learn, but it was also because he was too eager to learn that many monks "changed their expressions when seeing difficulties", so Chen Shuai treated Jie Nian as always.

"However, Senior Brother Jieshuai, don't you feel annoyed that Junior Brother Jienan often asks you questions? Last time he chased me and asked several questions about cultivation. I was a little impatient with my answers and he still asked, what the hell? I was so angry that I punched him several times in a muffled voice, and all the surrounding trees were stripped bare."

After a pause, Jiezhi looked at Chen Shuai and asked the doubts in his heart. At first, he was very annoyed by the problem. After just a few questions, he almost made a move against the problem. Fortunately, he held it back in the end. .

Hearing this, Chen Shuai smiled slightly, shook his head and said, "It's not bad."

With these three simple words, Ling Jiezhi couldn't help but give a thumbs up.

Chen Shuai can do it. It would definitely not work for him. It is precisely because he has experienced difficulties and often asks questions, so when he heard Chen Shuai's words, Jiezhi sincerely admired him.

"Senior Brother Jieshuai, it stands to reason that you have such a profound understanding of Buddhism. Why didn't you pass the initial assessment? Once you pass, you can go to Bodhi Courtyard even if you can't go to Luohan Hall. It's really a pity now. ”

Jie Zhi did not think that there was a mistake in the assessment. He could only say that the Buddha nature of the Jie Shuai at that time was not manifest, so he failed the assessment. If it were the current Chen Shuai, he would probably pass the assessment in minutes. Unfortunately, there is only one assessment.

Hearing this, Chen Shuai's heart suddenly trembled, but he quickly regained his composure. He looked at Jie Zhi and said with a smile, "Do you want to know why?"

Jiezhi was stunned after hearing this, and nodded quickly. Nonsense, he only dreamed of it!
After all, we are all monks. When you can only say "monster", "evil beast" and "animal", others have already started to use profound Buddhist words to express what you said about taking refuge in me, the Buddha. The difference is self-evident. Metaphor.

Seeing Jiezhi's eagerness, Chen Shuai showed a deep smile: "The reason is very simple, just work hard!"
