Uncle Jiu was very satisfied with his disciple's ambition.

Although ascetics should be indifferent to fame and fortune, they should not lose the spirit of struggle.

It's just that ordinary people strive for fame and fortune, while ascetics strive for opportunities and opportunities to become enlightened.

Without this xinxing, it will be difficult to go far on the great road.

It should be noted that the road to the great road leads to the same destination through different paths.

After cultivating to a certain level, many cultivators will discover that in fact, everyone is cultivating the same path.

Then the question comes, there is only one Tao, who should join the Tao and achieve the status of Tao Ancestor?

You cannot give it to others, and similarly, it is impossible for everyone to be humble to each other.

If you want to become enlightened, the only way is to fight and fight by any means necessary.

Only the final winner is qualified to become enlightened.

Note that just having the qualification to become enlightened does not mean that you will definitely become enlightened.

Throughout the ages, many heroes have defeated all competitors in the same period, but finally fell in front of the avenue.

Billions of worlds, countless epochs have passed, and there are only a few who have finally achieved the title of Dao Ancestor, which shows how difficult it is.

Therefore, ascetics must plan ahead to pave the way for the future.

The more you plan, the more likely you will be successful in the future.

However, we must also be careful not to lose ourselves in the process.

If one blindly respects and fears Tao and loses his self-confidence, he will end up like Shi Tian.

"Cheng'er, you have really grown up."

Uncle Jiu looked at Lin Cheng with relief and said.

When Lin Cheng heard this, he smiled and replied:

"Thank you for the compliment, Master. Disciple, I will definitely work harder and try to go to the fairy world as soon as possible to help you get a fairy to be your wife!"

When Uncle Jiu heard this, he rolled his eyes at Lin Cheng and said angrily:
"Okay, stop talking nonsense."

"Tell me, why did you come to see Master this time?"

"You don't simply want to compete with Master, do you?"

Uncle Jiu understood that Lin Cheng invited him down the mountain specifically because he must have something to ask for.

Otherwise, he would not easily disturb his cultivation.

Lin Cheng licked his face and said with a smile:

"Look what Master said, I can't invite you if you have nothing to do."

"But, I do have something wrong, hehe."

Uncle Jiu crossed his shoulders and nodded slightly. He knew this was the case.

Lin Cheng pretended not to see it and continued:

"I suspect that Pudu Cihang, the imperial master at that time, was transformed into a demon. I want to ask the master to come out and kill demons with me!"

Uncle Jiu narrowed his eyes when he heard this and stared straight at Lin Cheng.

Slaying demons and exorcising demons?

Master, don’t I understand you yet?

There are so many demons and monsters in this world. If you don't get rid of the other demons, you will focus on Pudu Cihang. If there is no special reason, Uncle Jiu will not believe it even to death.

Lin Cheng felt a little embarrassed when Uncle Jiu saw him. He lowered his head and scratched his nose and said:
"Fu Tianchou, Minister of the Ministry of War, was persecuted by traitors and will be executed after this autumn."

"Then Fu Tianchou has a daughter named Fu Yuechi, who was born at the time of the Ten Spirits."

Having said this, Lin Cheng glanced at Uncle Jiu quietly, and seeing that his face was getting more and more ugly, he quickly explained:
"Master, don't worry. I have made an agreement with Fu Yuechi. As long as I help her rescue Fu Tianchou, she will practice dual cultivation with me at the soul level and will not tarnish her body."

Lin Cheng also knew that his move seemed to be taking advantage of others' danger, but there was nothing he could do about it.

As a man with a family, no matter who the girl from Shi Lingshi is, he cannot pursue her openly. This double cultivation can only be regarded as a transaction.

Other things are easy to talk about, and the transaction is just a transaction.

But this thing about dual cultivation is almost equivalent to that trivial matter between men and women.

Treating it as a transaction is actually similar to visiting a brothel.

The problem is, Fu Yuechi is not a prostitute, so doing this is indeed a bit unethical.

"Humph, you have a guilty conscience. Don't I know your little thoughts?"

"Let me ask you, isn't Fu Yuechi beautiful?"

After Lin Cheng was silent for a while, he nodded honestly.

It's more than just beautiful, it's not an exaggeration to describe it as overwhelming the country or the city.

Seeing this, Uncle Jiu continued:
"Ask yourself, if you want to practice dual cultivation with others, is it really for cultivation, not to satisfy your own desires?"

At this point, Uncle Jiu paused, and when Lin Cheng didn't speak, he continued:

"Cheng'er, I'm not being harsh on you as a teacher."

"Since you choose to hone yourself in the world of mortals, you must set a set of strict rules for yourself."

"Just like a monk's rules and regulations, they cannot be violated easily."

"It's easy to satisfy your desires, but it's hard to keep your heart."

"If you don't understand this, you will easily get lost in the world of mortals."

After hearing this, Lin Cheng thought for a while and realized that just like Uncle Jiu said, he couldn't tell what his real thoughts were.

You have to say that he is purely for cultivating Taoism. Why do you have to find such a beautiful girl? Why don't you wait and find another girl from the Ten Spirits Period?

But if you want to say that Lin Cheng is simply coveting other people's looks, that doesn't seem to be the case.

With Lin Cheng's conditions, if he really wanted to find someone beautiful, he would definitely not be able to find her.

This is the complexity of human nature. Many times, even you don’t know what your true thoughts are.

For ordinary people, these are not important at all, but for ascetics, it is a very important thing to understand the original mind.

The ultimate catastrophe is the catastrophe of questioning the heart. It is recognized by all heavens and worlds that the most difficult catastrophe to survive is the final stage of the five declines of true immortals, gods, and humans, which is the catastrophe of the decline of the Taoist heart.

If you can't even understand your original mind, let alone the heart failure tribulation, you won't be able to pass the final torture of the immortal tribulation.

Thinking of this, Lin Chengcheng said with some embarrassment:
"Does master mean to give up the agreement with Fu Yuechi?"

In this case, it saves him the difficulty of torture his mind, but he loses a way to reach the sky.

To be honest, Lin Cheng was really reluctant to let go.

Uncle Jiu looked at Lin Cheng's troubled face and snorted coldly:
"What's the answer? You have to ask yourself."

"My teacher just reminds you that for your path, right or wrong is not important, only what is in line with your heart is important."

"You are close to becoming an immortal. The most important thing is to avoid deceiving yourself in every move you make. You must do what you want."

Lin Cheng was stunned when he heard this, crossed his arms and started thinking.

The so-called 'acting according to one's heart' does not mean acting according to one's desires.

Most people's desires are controlled by various hormones such as dopamine, so most people feel that they are following their instincts, but in fact they are just controlled by hormones.

This is just like the trivial things between men and women that often appear in the minds of young people. If that young man happens to be rich and powerful, it is almost predictable what he will do.

So here comes the question, are the things that young people do considered true to their true intentions?
After all, he was thinking about it day and night, and his mind was full of that nonsense every day.

In fact, there is a high probability that it does not count.

Because reproduction and survival are desires that everyone has.

It’s not that there are no people whose true intention is to reproduce, but that there are very few such people.

This is also the reason why it is difficult for those who practice the Way of Joy to achieve enlightenment. (End of chapter)
