The Iron-Blooded Army of Beacon Fire

Chapter 63 Lieutenant General

Chapter 63 Lieutenant General
Late at night, the roar of artillery continues

Xinkou left wing, Sha'ao Village, No. 14 Army Command Post
A middle-aged officer in his early thirties looked at the battle reports sent from everywhere under the dim oil lamp. The rank of lieutenant general on his collar badge was shining brightly, and the staff officers around him were coming and going.

The sound of cannons and footsteps did not interrupt the careful thoughts of this officer who had been admitted to the first phase of Huangpu since the Great Revolution. The long-term battle has made him develop the habit of staying calm in times of crisis. This officer is No. 14 Lieutenant General Li Mo'an.

Li Mo'an was born into a poor family in 1904. Neither his grandfather nor father had the funds to organize farmland, so they could only make a living by selling their labor and doing some family side jobs. In 1916, after finishing primary school in his hometown, he stopped studying at home.

Later, with the help of my cousin who was a teacher at Chuyi School, I was able to study at the school for two years, and then transferred to the Class B Industrial School for one year.

After dropping out of school, he worked as an apprentice in a hotel for one year, and then was admitted to Changsha Normal University for three years, graduating from the second department of the school in 1923. In December 1923, the Guangzhou revolutionary government sent people to Changsha to openly recruit military school students. Li Mo'an had just turned 12 and graduated from middle school. He fully met the application requirements and was admitted immediately.

So, I was very excited to raise 30 yuan for my own travel expenses and go to the ocean. I joined a group of more than [-] other admitted students, and Chen Geng was recommended as the team leader. They detoured to Wuhan, Shanghai, and Hong Kong and arrived in Guangzhou.

In 1924, he was admitted to the first phase of Huangpu. In January 1926, Li Mo'an was transferred to participate in the Eastern Expedition and served as the party representative of the No. 1 Regiment of the First Army. In the autumn of 60, the Northern Expedition began.Li Mo'an was reassigned as the commander of the first battalion and first company of the fifth regiment No. 1926 of the first division of the first army.He followed the army northward and captured Wuchang, and was promoted to commander of the first battalion of the regiment. Then, he moved eastward to attack Sun Chuanfang and captured Nanchang. In the winter of this year, he captured Hangzhou, and in the spring of the following year, he captured Shanghai. He was promoted to deputy commander of the regiment because of his indomitable spirit and outstanding military exploits.

In the summer of 1927, he participated in the famous fierce battle of Longtan, defeated Sun Chuanfang's army across the river, and pursued the victory to annihilate his remaining troops, and was commended by the military. In the autumn of the same year, he led his troops to cross the river. After continuous fierce battles, he conquered Bengbu and occupied Xuzhou, and was promoted to the commander of the regiment.

In the spring of 1928, Li Mo'an led his troops to march north along the Jinpu Line and captured Tai'an. Together with friendly forces, they crossed Mount Tai in April of that year and entered Jinan, where he was promoted to brigade commander due to his meritorious service.Because it violated the interests of the Japanese in Shandong, the Japanese army stationed in Shandong created the "May 4rd Massacre", forcing Chang Kaishen to back down and agree that the army would not enter the city and instead take a detour to the Northern Expedition. In the summer and autumn of this year, the entire territory within Pingjin and Shanhaiguan was recovered, the Northeast was changed, and the Northern Expedition was completed.

Soon, the national army was reorganized, the military structure was abolished, and the unit was divided into divisions, with two brigades per division and two regiments per brigade. However, Li Mo'an served as the commander of the No. 11 First Brigade of the No. 30 Division despite the downsizing of the army.

At the end of 1930, he was promoted to brigade commander of the 40rd Brigade of the [-]th Division No. [-].

In 1931, the 45th Division was ordered to be reorganized into the [-]th Division, and Li Mo'an was promoted to the commander of the [-]th Division.

"July 7. When the Lugou Bridge incident broke out, Li Mo'an was training at the Lushan Military Training Group and served as the squadron leader of the first brigade of the training corps. On July 12, Li Mo'an was appointed to the No. 14 Army at the meeting where Chang Kaishen issued the Anti-Japanese War Statement. The commander of the army led his 80th Division and No. [-] Third Division northward to standby.

Thirteen years have passed since he was admitted to the first class of Huangpu in 1924. The enthusiastic young man who was a little ignorant in the past has grown into a lieutenant general commanding the troops of the third division.

It is worth mentioning that, similar to Liu Mingxia, the leader of He Wei's 57th regiment, Li Mo'an also had the experience of joining the Red Army, but the reason why he left the Red Army was not romantic.

At that time, Li Mo'an joined the Red Army shortly after entering the military academy. After returning to school from the first expedition, a classmate from Guangdong often asked Li Mo'an to visit his home on Sundays.

Once, he proposed to introduce someone to Li Mo'an and took Li Mo'an to meet a student named Zeng from Zhixin Girls' School.Li Mo'an had a good impression of her and soon established a romantic relationship.

Later, Xu Jishen, the leader of the red team, discovered Li Mo'an's affair and directly criticized Li Mo'an for being too "romantic."

Therefore, Li Mo'an was no longer notified when the red team held a meeting.

At that time, the red life style was very strict, and the red group had objections to Li Mo'an's behavior. After the "Zhongshan Ship Incident", red activities were restricted in Huangpu Military Academy, and Li Mo'an did not proactively contact the red group. Li Mo'an automatically broke away from the organizational relationship.

Later, Li Mo'an also broke up with his girlfriend because her family did not agree with their marriage. When Li Mo'an participated in the Northern Expedition to Changsha, he wrote a letter asking his girlfriend to come to see him after the battle. As a result, the girlfriend did not come.

If He Wei heard this story, he would definitely slap his thighs and say that he is very satisfied. A young man from a poor family was refused marriage when he was still young. After more than ten years of hard work, he became a high-ranking lieutenant general. Chang, this is simply a diaosi’s counterattack, so passionate and inspiring!

After reading a report, the sound of the staff report pulled Li Mo'an out of his thoughts about the battle situation.

"Report to the commander, there is a new situation report in the forward position!"

Li Mo'an asked: "Which division is it from?"

The staff officer immediately said: "Tenth Division!"

Hearing that it was the [-]th Division, Li Mo'an frowned slightly and looked a little anxious. Could it be that the position of the [-]th Division was broken through by the Japanese army?Or did the [-]th Division suffer heavy losses?Thinking of the possible losses of the [-]th Division, Li Mo'an's heart tightened.

Although he has now been promoted to the commander of the No. 14 Army and has commanded three divisions, when it comes to the unit he cares about the most, it is still the 85th Division. Among the other two divisions under the [-]th Army, the [-]th Division It was a local force in Guizhou Province that was later centralized. The division commander Chen Tie was also a first-year student in Huangpu. During the Northern Expedition, when Wei Lihuang was the commander of the ninth regiment of the [-]rd Division of the Northern Expedition, Chen Tie served as Wei Lihuang. Huang's battalion commander is currently regarded as Wei Lihuang's direct unit, but in general he is not familiar with Li Mo'an of this division, and individual cadres of this division often make small moves behind his back, which makes Li Mo'an very unhappy.

No. 80 Third Division is a unit of the Central Army that participated in the Great Wall Anti-Japanese War. The division commander Liu Kan is a cadre from the [-]th Division. He once served as a brigade commander in the [-]th Division and is a unit that Li Mo'an relies on.

But when it comes to the unit that we rely on the most, it must be the [-]th Division.

Back then, after Li Mo'an was injured in the Central Plains War, he followed the order of the supreme leader Chang Kaishen, took an official document and two thousand new rifles, broke away from the 40th Division of Chen Cheng's system, and changed his family to go to Wei Lihuang's No. [-] alone. [-] The fifth division, which was the tenth division before the reorganization, served as the brigade commander.

After that, he served in this unit, took over as the division commander, and led the division to fight in the north and south, fighting all the way.

In Li Mo'an's mind, this is his basic unit and the most powerful unit in the No. 14 Army. How can he not worry about it? But just two days ago, it was he who ordered the dispatch of the 57th Regiment of the [-]th Division based on the enemy's situation. A battalion was ordered to attack and search in the direction of Yongxing Village. As a result, less than a morning after the regiment implemented the order, he received a report of heavy casualties from the battalion. The losses to the basic troops were such serious losses. Looking at Yongxing It would be no exaggeration to say that his heart was bleeding from the report of the village's collapse.

But when Li Mo'an finished reading the newly arrived battle report, he immediately let out a sigh of relief, with a look of joy on his face.

The content of the battle report is not long, it only reads: "Commander Li, Commander of the Group Army Wei Junjian, the 20nd Battalion of the 57th Regiment, No. 28 Eighth Brigade of our division, is equipped with a platoon of combat anti-artillery to guard the Yanzhuang position. In the early morning, the enemy attacked with infantry and tanks. Our position launched an attack, and the battalion resisted bravely, destroying four enemy tanks, killing a large number of enemy infantry, and capturing several enemy soldiers. It was discovered that the enemy was confronting us. Peng Jieru, commander of the [-]th Division, and Chen Munong, commander of the [-]th Brigade."

Shaoqing, Li Mo'an said: "Come, go and take a look at the forward position of the [-]th Division."
