Chapter 1 Crossing
Today is the 12th year of Gao Yang’s journey.

Before time travel, Gao Yang was an orphan and had just spent his 6th birthday in an orphanage. That night, he ate the cupcakes his dormitory aunt bought for him and fell asleep contentedly. Before going to bed, he made a wish, hoping that he could find his parents, and then fell asleep in a daze.

When he woke up, Gao Yang found himself sitting at a dining table. There was a bowl of steaming noodles in front of the table. He was biting the noodles with half of them hanging out.

In the hall of the old house, the early morning light was soft. A pair of strange middle-aged men and women were sitting across the dining table. The person sitting behind the door was a kind-hearted old woman. Next to him, there was a little girl with big eyes. About four or five years old.

"Don't be stunned, eat quickly, don't be late for school later." The woman urged. She was in her thirties. Although she was wearing simple pajamas and no makeup, she was very beautiful.

"Son, do you want dad to give it to you?" the man asked with a smile, holding a toothpick in his mouth. He was tall and strong, with a slightly bulging lower abdomen and a slightly higher hairline. The handsomeness of his youth could still be seen in his brows.

"No! Dad wants to send me to kindergarten!" the little girl shouted angrily, lying in front of the table and grabbing a bowl of millet porridge.

"Haha, then let's send my brother off first and then my sister, okay?" The old lady smiled kindly and reached out to touch the little girl's head.

Gao Yang opened his mouth wide and the noodles fell on the dining table with a "clack" sound.

When he was six years old, he still couldn't understand what "time travel" was, nor did he know what a "parallel world" was.

He thought he was still dreaming, but he didn't expect that he would be dreaming for 12 years.

……

Now, Gao Yang has already adapted to this new world and has become one with his host.He is Gao Yang, 18 years old, a senior in high school, living in a warm family of five, with an amiable grandmother, loving parents who occasionally quarrel, and an eccentric younger sister.

He lives a good life. Like most of his peers, he studies hard for the college entrance examination. He occasionally thinks about which university he will go to in the future, which job he will find, who he will marry, and how many children he will have...

In short, Gao Yang's wish came true when he was 6 years old. He "found" his parents, as well as his grandmother and sister.

He lives a happy life and wants nothing more.

Until my 18th birthday, everything changed.

After the evening self-study, Gao Yang was riding his bicycle home. As he was passing by a night road, a black shadow suddenly jumped out of the alley, knocking over Gao Yang and his bicycle.

Gao Yang fell down, but it wasn't serious. He stood up with a grin and saw the person who hit him clearly.Under the dim streetlight, stood a short, middle-aged man. He looked haggard, pale, and looked frightened. He was wearing a tattered hospital gown and was covered in blood.

"Uncle, are you okay..."

"Run!" The man grabbed Gao Yang's shoulders with terrifying force: "Monsters! There are monsters everywhere! Run! Get away from here!"

There was a bloody smell of despair in the man's voice: "Don't trust anyone..."

"boom!"

What else did the man want to say? A bullet entered his temple, penetrated his skull, and came out of the temple on the other side. A bloody rose bloomed instantly.

"Magnetic——" The thick blood mist mixed with the pungent fishy smell assaulted the nostrils.

The hands holding Gao Yang's shoulders slowly loosened, and the man's frightened expression was frozen forever. His overly protruding eyeballs no longer moved, and were engraved with despair, hesitation, and unwillingness.

Two seconds later, the body fell heavily.

Gao Yang was confused.

He was stuck in place, and his feet were quickly soaked by the spreading pool of blood, which made him feel sticky and wet.The slight tinnitus caused by the bullet piercing the man's head was gradually covered by the sound of the heartbeat in the chest: thump, thump, thump, thump, thump...

"Child, you are not hurt!"

"Don't be afraid, you are safe now!"

"Close your eyes and don't look down at your feet..."

Several police officers rushed up, and one of them took Gao Yang into his arms and covered his eyes.

……

The next day, Gao Yang made local news headlines: "A severely mentally ill patient killed two nurses and escaped at night, then took a high school student hostage and was shot to death on the spot."

Gao Yang took a day off and rested at home.He was indeed a little stimulated, witnessing a life being brutally shot at close range, which no ordinary person could bear. Moreover, there were many doubts about the mental patient, which made him feel very strange. In what way, he couldn't tell at the moment.

That night, Gao Yang took a sleeping pill.

After falling asleep, he dreamed.

The host's memories before he was 6 years old have long been digested by Gao Yang, who traveled through time, but there are still some vague memories that seem to have been forgotten.

In the dream, Gao Yang returned to the late night of the summer when he was 4 years old.

He ate too much watermelon and his bladder was swollen. He got up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. When he passed his grandparents' room, he heard a rustling sound.

Gao Yang was a little curious. He pricked up his ears and pressed against the cold door. The voice became more real and unfamiliar.

He had never heard such a sound before. It was like the whimpering of a beast or the cry of a giant whale in the deep sea. It sounded painful, mixed with a kind of twisted excitement. If you distinguish it carefully, you can see that there is still a rough and dull sound underneath. The sound of biting.

Gao Yang only felt creepy.

At that time, he had just listened to the aunt in the kindergarten telling the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood".He wondered if a big bad wolf had sneaked into his home and eaten his grandparents, right?

Gao Yang's heart was beating fast, but he still mustered up the courage to gently push the door open.

What did he see through the crack in the door!
He was so scared that he turned around and ran back to his room, covered his head and got under the quilt, even forgetting to solve his physical problems.

Early the next morning, Gao Yang wet the bed. He thought it was just a nightmare. At this moment, the mother pushed the door open and came in, sadly holding Gao Yang into her arms. She cried and said, "Gao Yang, your grandfather is gone."

When Gao Yang followed his mother out of the room, his grandfather's body was carried away on a stretcher by medical staff and covered with a white cloth.By the time of the funeral, Grandpa had turned into an urn.

From beginning to end, Gao Yang and his sister never got to see their grandfather for the last time.

Now that I think about it, there are a lot of doubts about the matter.

Grandpa loved Gao Yang and his sister the most during his lifetime. They were close relatives. Why couldn't they see grandpa for the last time?
If the memory is correct, my grandfather's body, which was covered with white cloth at the time, had a strange upper body shape, as if one of his hands was missing.

Didn't grandpa die of a heart attack? Why is there one missing hand?

In his dream, Gao Yang looked at the body on the white stretcher and was puzzled.

Suddenly, the body on the white stretcher sat up!
The white cloth was pulled down, and it turned out to be that crazy man.His eyes were hollowed out, leaving only two deep blood holes. Thick black blood spurted out from his seven orifices. He stretched out his bloody hands and pinched Gao Yang's shoulders hard.

--monster!Monsters are everywhere!Run!leave here!

——Don’t trust anyone!
……

"what!"

Gao Yang woke up from his dream.

It's ten o'clock in the morning, the sun is just right, the April breeze blows the curtains, and outside the window is the busy traffic and the hustle and bustle of the city.

"Brother, are you having a nightmare?" My sister sat on the head of Gao Yang's bed, tilted her head and looked at her, and blinked with her big eyes.

Gao Yang was stunned: "Why are you in my room?"

The younger sister looked at him with disgust: "The sun is shining on your butt. Mom asked me to wake you up!"

"Oh good, got it."

My sister walked out of the room.

Gao Yang was still in a daze. He rolled over and got out of bed and drank a large amount of water.

At this time, the phone rang, and Gao Yang casually opened WeChat.

"Pfft-" He spurted out a mouthful of water.
