Lithography machine technology is divided into the following categories:

Contact Printing: The mask is in direct contact with the photoresist layer.The exposed graphics have the same resolution as the graphics on the mask, and the equipment is simple.Contact type, according to the way of applying force, is divided into: soft contact, hard contact and vacuum contact.

Proximity Printing: There is a tiny gap (Gap) between the mask and the photoresist base layer. The Gap is about 0 to 200 μm.It can effectively avoid mask damage caused by direct contact with the photoresist, so that the mask and photoresist base can be used for a long time; the mask has a long life (can be increased by more than 10 times) and has fewer pattern defects.Proximity type is the most widely used in modern photolithography processes.

Projection Printing: Using an optical system to collect light between the mask and the photoresist to achieve exposure.Generally, the size of the mask will be 4 times the size of the pattern to be transferred.Advantages: Improved resolution; easier production of masks; reduced impact of defects on the mask.

What is currently used in China is the projection exposure method, and attempts have been made to process processes below 5um.The processing accuracy of this production line is 100um.The gap is too big.

Forget it, we are not going to process integrated circuits yet, let’s make transistors first.

But now the yield problem must be solved. There is no way to directly use microcontrollers. Li Guocheng can only go back to the original era and build control circuits with independent transistors.

Fortunately, the principle is very simple. It only took Li Guocheng half a day to complete the disassembly, cutting and design, using a total of more than 1200 independent transistors.

Then we commissioned the production of a 1 meter square epoxy resin copper-plated plate, and used the modified rotor to start making device soldering holes.

The circuit is completed directly with a carving knife, and the final circuit board is 300*500mm in size.The next step is to wait for the transistors to be obtained during trial production on the production line, and then complete the welding.

The mechanical department commissioned the production of high-precision screws and purchased enough stepper motors.

When doing the above designs, Li Guocheng felt very uncomfortable. He could have completed them all, but in order to avoid suspicion, almost all parts were commissioned and purchased.

Forget about other parts, the accuracy is a bit low, the cost is a bit high, and the efficiency is a bit low, it’s all acceptable.

Consultant Tang left the company with the good news, and Li Guocheng returned to the laboratory to continue making production line modification components.

During the debugging by professional Robin Hood engineers, the time entered mid-April.

The first trial production was very successful, producing transistors that met the requirements.But the yield is surprisingly low, only 26%.

"Mr. Chairman, there is no way around this. If our Robin Hood engineers operate it, we will definitely be able to achieve a yield of 40%. But you must insist that your workers do it themselves."
