Chapter 32 Logistics Department

Chapter 32 Logistics Department

"Thank you, Dunn."

A voice suddenly came from nowhere, and Chris felt that the scene in front of him suddenly shattered, as if he had just woken up from a very clear dream.

He looked around blankly. Everything was exactly the same as before, without any difference.

Dunn?

Could it be...Dunn Smith?

Chris looked at the gray-eyed man smiling at him with surprise.

Have I been dreaming just now?Dunn directly pulled me into a dream? Is the warmth of the wrist reminding me?
A series of questions appeared in Chris' mind, and he thought about them carefully.

It turns out that the warmth on my wrist kept reminding me that I was being pulled into a dream. I thought it was because I was close to the crime scene...

Chris stroked his wrist with a wry smile. He was too nervous just now and didn't think calmly.

"You're welcome." Dunn Smith, who was wearing a black short trench coat, smiled, put on a black top hat and walked down the stairs.

He smiled at the man in an inspector's uniform in front of him and said, "Albert, this guy named Chris should be fine."

Albert Gore, the captain of the Mechanic Heart in Tingen City, nodded slightly and replied, "That's good."

Dunn approached Albert and whispered: "He is a Sequence 9 Extraordinary of the 'Secret Peeper'. He has also been to Mist Village. He should have a certain relationship with the case you are pursuing."

"But I don't think he is a member of the Morse Trappist Order. I will send you a telegram later for the details."

After listening to Dunn's words, Albert nodded, thought for a while, relaxed his brows, and said with a smile:

"Okay, thank you. I'll treat you to dinner another day."

"Okay," Dunn waved his hand, took a few steps and then turned back: "One more thing, I guess he is a newcomer who has just been exposed to the extraordinary world. You can, um, you know."

"I will think about it."

When Dunn Smith walked away, Albert Gore turned back and asked: "Chris Doty?"

Chris nodded, his heart beating faster.

Albert opened his pocket watch, looked at the time, and said, "Go back to your guest room, take your personal belongings, and follow me."

Outside the tavern, several police officers were surrounding Baggio, who looked anxious, and tried to dissuade him: "Mr. Baggio, you are only returning to the station with us to make a simple note. The specialized insurance department will contact you for subsequent compensation. You have to trust us, the Tingen police.”

"...Really, it's just a simple note. No, it's not some 'unintentional invitation to a banquet' or some famous quote from Emperor Russell. Where did you hear this..."

Seeing Chris coming out, Baggio shouted: "Chris, they are going to put us in jail!"

"Hey hey hey, please keep your voice down!"

Chris looked at the blushing Baggio in the distance and the embarrassed Jason next to him, and shrugged, expressing his helplessness.

"Where are we going, officer?"

Chris felt that Albert Gore behind him, a middle-aged man with glasses who looked like a university professor, should be the captain of the Heart of Machine team, otherwise he would not have such a close relationship with Dunn Smith.

"Go and take notes," Albert said.

"Won't you do it with them?" Chris asked.

"No, let's go to another place."

The two boarded a light carriage and drove east.

The carriage drove for less than ten minutes before turning into a street that Chris was very familiar with - University Street!

"Are we going to...Hoy University?" Chris looked at the familiar and unfamiliar scenery on both sides of the road, feeling sad in his heart.

"Well, Hoy University, your alma mater."

"But I've already graduated..."

"Haha, can't you go back to your alma mater after graduation? Aren't you going to come back for the graduation ceremony in a dozen days?"

The carriage drove into Hoy University, passed the teaching building and dormitory area, and turned into a street that Chris had never been to before.

"Where is this?"

"Hoy University Logistics Department, why, you haven't been here before?"

"Never been here." Chris told the truth.

Albert chuckled lightly, and when the carriage stopped, he jumped out of the carriage and looked at Chris: "Come down."

Chris looked at the words "Hoy University Logistics Department" written in Loen language in front of him and got out of the car speechlessly.

This place won't be the same as the Nighthawks' "Blackthorn Security Company"...

Seeing Chris's embarrassed look, Albert took off his hat and patted him on the shoulder:

"Don't look at the words 'Logistics Department' and think that our mechanical heart is not strong enough. Nighthawks and Punishers sometimes ask us to borrow equipment!"

Albert continued: "We actually have another name called 'Team [-] of the Special Operations Department of the Ahowa County Police Department of the Loen Kingdom'. What, this must be high-end!"

The two walked into the building and passed the entrance. They were in front of a small hall - one-third of the space on the left and right sides were occupied by tables and chairs of various sizes, making the hall look a bit messy.

Sitting behind the table in the middle of the hall was an old man wearing a peaked cap. He tilted his chair, crossed his legs, and leisurely played with the Rubik's Cube in his hand.

Albert Gore coughed deliberately, and the old man quickly threw the Rubik's Cube on the table and stood up: "Captain!"

"Bob, how long will it take for the Russell Cube to be rotated?" Albert smiled, not caring at all.

"Two minutes... Hey, is this?" Bob George asked.

"Chris Doty." Albert introduced: "Maybe he will be a colleague in the future."

"Oh, okay," the old man stretched out his hand, and the wrinkles on his face relaxed: "Bob George, director of the logistics department of Hoy University, and also a civilian employee of the Mechanical Heart of Tingen City."

"Chris Doty. Hoy graduate." Chris shook his hand.

"You're still a student at this school, why haven't I seen you before?" Bob joked.

Albert took Chris out of the hall from a corridor on the left, then turned straight to the right and walked deeper along another corridor.

This corridor is not long. There are three offices on the left and right. At the end is a window with good lighting, and there is a passage on the right.

Chris heard a female voice coming from an office. He glanced and saw two women inside.

The shorter one was wearing sky blue overalls and a white shirt. He was talking excitedly to the one sitting in a dark dress. They didn't seem to notice the two people passing by the door.

"Those are Gray Anne and Catherine Leeds. They are both Sequence 9 Beyonders. Horik is Sequence 8 and I am Sequence 7."

Albert opened an office on the right: "Chris, come in first."

The decoration inside the office is pretty good, with several strange mechanical objects placed on the table.

Albert sat behind his desk and pointed to the chair behind the door: "Sit."

Chris sat down a little cautiously, he didn't know why Albert was so enthusiastic towards him.
