The Fiery Era of Siheyuan

Chapter 49, Uncle Gu's Collection

Chapter 49, Uncle Gu's Collection

After drinking, Zhou Can took Li Weiguo, Zhao Guobing and his follower Zhou Bo downstairs to find the old man who worked as a postal service during the Republic of China.

The old man's house is on the first floor of the building behind.

After going downstairs, the four of them walked around to the Tongzi Tower at the back.

The old man was quite leisurely, and specially made two small vegetable plots in the flower beds on the left and right sides of the entrance of the house on the first floor.

It's not big, the two sides add up to about ten square meters, and some green onions, ginger, garlic and cabbage are planted.

The waiter did a good job. The vegetable seedlings in the field were green and shiny. It seemed that they were taken care of every day.

When he reached the door, Zhou Can ran over and knocked on the door.

"dong dong dong"

"Who is it?" The uncle's voice came from inside the room.

"Uncle Gu, I'm Zhou Can."

"Boy Can, the door is unlocked, come in."

With Uncle Gu's permission, Zhou Can pushed open the door first, followed by the other three.

Uncle Gu's room is relatively simple in furnishings, Zhang Wei's head is hung on the wall of the main room, the coffee table, sofa, tables and chairs are a bit old, but they are very tidy, revealing a simple and neat atmosphere.

Uncle Gu is over 60 years old and has been retired for a while. He usually has nothing to do but tend to his vegetable field, or stroll in the family yard. He knows all the children in the yard, and he is in good spirits. Hua Jing was holding a book and studying there.

Seeing everyone coming in, Uncle Gu looked up at everyone, looked at Zhou Can, and said with a smile: "Boy Can, why are you free to come to the old man today?"

"Don't I miss you? My mother made some meat dishes and brought them to you. Don't mind it." Zhou Can put the lunch box in his hand on the dining table and said to Uncle Gu with a smile.

"Haha. Don't dislike it, don't dislike it. Don't be too troublesome next time. I don't lack anything."

Uncle Gu is very happy, and he is very happy to be missed.

Then he said to Li Weiguo and the others: "You boys, come in and sit down, don't be too polite."

After saying that, he invited everyone to come in and sit down, poured a glass of water for everyone, and took out a box of golden chicken biscuits from the house and distributed them to the four people for them to eat.

Li Weiguo was not interested in biscuits, so he gave them to Zhou Bo.

Zhou Bo had no resistance to snacks anymore. He took them as soon as they were given. He took the biscuits without any courtesy and started to nibble them directly.

Such good snacks are not often eaten on weekdays because the Zhou family's family is in a good condition.

"I haven't seen these two guys much, which courtyard are they from?"

Li Weiguo's actions caught Uncle Gu's attention, and he asked about their origins.

"They are my classmates from elementary school to high school. This tall one is Li Weiguo, and this gentle one is Zhao Guobing. They are my friends who have played together since elementary school. They usually come to our hospital less often. You haven't seen them much. With that said, Zhou Can pointed to Li Weiguo and Zhao Guobing to meet Uncle Gu.

"Oh, okay..., yes, they are all good-looking talents." After looking at the two of them, Uncle Gu nodded with a smile.

"By the way, sir, my brother Li Weiguo likes to collect all kinds of stamps since he was a child. I thought that your house has the most complete types in the whole courtyard, so I took him to have a look. He wants to change some to go back to collect. I don't know if you are willing or not. Cut love." Zhou Can talked about the purpose of everyone.

"Stamps, these things are not cheap. If you have some money, don't throw it all in. But since you like it, show it to you guys and take away what you like."

Uncle Gu is getting old, and collecting stamps is only related to work. Every year, the post office has kept all the ones issued by the post office, and he has not specially collected them. After so many years, he still has a lot of them.

With that said, he walked into the bedroom, and a few minutes later he took out a small box and placed it on the table with a thud.

The box is about 45cm x 25cm x 25cm in size and can hold a lot of things.

The box was opened, and there was a thick stack of stamps inside, many of which were full-page, and single stamps were placed in the corners of the box.

Such old stamps almost blinded Li Weiguo. How long would it take to save so many.

Zhou Can and Zhao Guobing were not interested in these either, so they asked Li Weiguo to come closer and choose for themselves.

Li Weiguo looked up at the uncle excitedly and asked, "Uncle, can I take it out and take a look?"

"Haha, it seems that you really like stamps. Just read it if you like it. It's no big deal. I also liked it very much when I first started working as a postman. Every time new stamps were issued, I would buy some myself, and the bureau would occasionally Pay some benefits, and over the past few decades, I have slowly saved so much." Uncle Gu didn't care about these things, and let Li Weiguo do as he pleased.

Li Weiguo nodded, and took out the stack of stamps from the box.

From the newness and oldness of these stamps, it can be seen that they are stored in chronological order.

The upper layer is obviously brand new, while the lower layer is older, and some have even turned yellow.

There are plastic sheets between every few pictures on the entire page, which is quite protective.

Li Weiguo spread the full page of stamps on the table like a poker, starting from the earliest stamp on the left.

It's okay if you don't look at it, but when you look at it, you almost jump with excitement.

There are two sheets of thin paper dragons, one full sheet of thick paper dragons, and a full sheet of 25 pieces even for the most precious broad-sided dragons.

They are in good condition, with no obvious damage or stains.

A complete edition of the broad-edged dragon would have been auctioned for a high price of 91 pounds in 37.4. It is truly a treasure among treasures.

Put these three big dragon stamps aside, and continue to look at the stamps at the back.

There are three editions of Panlong stamps in this set, with 12 pieces in total. The patterns are very beautiful.

The Qing Panlong stamp is an official ordinary stamp issued by the State Post in the Qing Dynasty in 1897. There are a total of 12 stamps in three designs.

蟠龙图:面值半分(紫)、1分(黄)、2分(桔黄)、4分(棕)、5分(玫红)、1角(深绿);
Carp picture: 2 horns (purple), 3 horns (rose red), 5 horns (yellow green);
Flying Geese: 1 yuan (dark red and rose red), 2 yuan (yellow and orange), 5 yuan (dark green and rose red).

There are English words on the stamp: "IMPERIALCHINESEPOST" (帝/国/中/华/报/政).

A set of Panlong stamps is worth about 1 yuan. Although it is not as valuable as the big dragon, it is still a good collection.

Looking back, there are many stamps that Li Weiguo has never seen or heard of. Skip these stamps, put them aside, and continue to look back.

Picking and picking, I found that there are quite a few more valuable stamps that I know, such as: stamped with China/China/Republic/Guo/Temporary/Chung/Li stamps, there is a large full-page 46 pieces;
BJ New Sailing 4 points "Temporary 3 points" inverted ticket has three full pages;
Two full pages of blue army post; three pages of stamps for military/personal stickers; six pages of stamps for heaven/an/door shine;

The rest are all newly issued stamps after the founding of the People's Republic of China. They may not be very famous and Li Weiguo has never seen them, but the patterns are very beautiful.

There are about tens of thousands of stamps in this whole box. Counting the face value alone, there are thousands of dollars here. This old man is really amazing, he can actually save so many stamps.
