Chapter 3

Not long after going out, Zheng Xun arrived downstairs in Mingren's apartment.

The zombies on the road were still not interested in him as before, treating him as a transparent person.

Although he has long accepted the zombie apocalypse, he has not seen zombies attacking humans with his own eyes, and he always feels that something is wrong.

All the way to the destination, Ming Ren's apartment.

The main structure of Mingren Apartment is for both commercial and residential purposes, but there are three floors of commercial buildings at the bottom.

Although the stores on the ground floor are not as good as other large shopping malls, they have a wide variety of stores that can basically meet daily shopping needs.

The pavement facing the street on the first floor of the ground floor business was basically destroyed, and the glass of the shop window was shattered all over the floor.

In the clothing store, new clothes were discarded at random, the wooden cashier counter was overturned, and colorful Korean won banknotes were scattered.

The place was a mess.

Fortunately, the cake shop was located on the third floor of the store. Zheng Xun felt that it would not be damaged on a large scale like the street store.

He walked around the ground floor of the apartment and walked to the back. This is a circular space surrounded by apartment buildings, which can lead to the second floor and higher floors above.

Green belts have been built on both sides of the road in the circular site, and among the dense camphor trees and shrubs, there can be heard a thin swishing sound.

Zheng Xun looked at the movement in the shade, and could see some dark figures crouching in it, as if they were gnawing on something.

He walked straight into the bottom store without stopping and came to the elevator door, with the stairway next to it.

Glancing at the pile of flesh and blood residue in the stairway, Zheng Xun decisively pressed the lift button.

After a while, the elevator door opened.

There was a female zombie lying in the elevator, with only half of her body left, her hands on the ground, her head held high and shaking from time to time.

He must have been blocked in the elevator by a group of zombies, eating him until only half of his body was left with flesh and blood.

Zheng Xun was a little wary at first, but found that the zombie was also turning a blind eye to him, so he walked into the elevator without any scruples and pressed the button to the third floor.

The half-length female zombie next to the soles of her feet continued to raise her face, searching for something blankly.

"The face is pretty good-looking and well-preserved. There are no large areas of raised blood vessels or veins, but the eyes are slightly cloudy."

Zheng Xun found that this female zombie looked more like a normal person compared to the terrifying zombies outside.

If she hadn't lost half of her body, she might have been treated tenderly as a sickly and anemic girl.

Compared with the ugly faces of those South Korean girls before, it is obvious that they are more in line with Zheng Xun's perception now.

After all, no matter how he does whatever he wants, they can only tolerate it numbly, let alone suffer any psychological burden.

Ding Dong
The elevator reached the third floor. Zheng Xun walked in the aisle, passing by shops, and came to the "Good Luck Come" cake shop.

Zheng Xun looked further into the corridor, and further down the corridor, there were two zombies standing in front of a door.

They scratched at something non-stop, completely unattracted by Zheng Xun's arrival, and repeated their original movements on their own.

Without thinking too much, he looked away, pushed open the glass door, and walked into the cake shop.

In the store stood a female zombie with disheveled hair and a light-colored uniform stained with blood.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, it turned its head and looked towards the door, but its eyes were still numb and blank, and its feet made no movement to rush over.

Zheng Xun didn't care. He came to the glass cover of the counter and looked at the exquisite cakes. They were intact. Just looking at them made his taste buds jump.

This cake shop is a hometown brand, and the cakes there have always been in line with Zheng Xun's taste.

When studying in South Korea, the most unaccustomed thing for him is the diet. He usually buys food from his hometown as much as possible, but the high tuition fees and rent make these ordinary cakes seem extravagant. Thinking about it, it has been a long time since he has eaten them.

"It seems that zombies have no interest in delicious cakes." Zheng Xun felt quite lucky, picked up the plate, opened the glass cover, slowly selected the birthday cake he wanted, and carefully picked it up and put it on the plate.

He lifted the helmet visor, biting a cheese bread stick, and neatly packed the cake, small candles, lighter, plastic knife and fork, and even the birthday hat into the packing box.

After buying some bread and freshly squeezed juice for nothing, Zheng Xun left the cake shop with big bags and small bags, ready to go home and have a delicious meal.

As soon as I went out and took two steps in the hallway, I suddenly heard a heavier scratching and sizzling sound coming from behind me.

He stopped and looked back, and found that the number of zombies scratching at the door deep in the corridor had increased to four.

He felt very strange that in just a moment, two more zombies surrounded him.

Is there something good inside the door that attracts them, something they care about more than a living person like me?

Zheng Xun thought for a while, and now it seemed that the zombies would not attack him.

In case the effect of immunity to zombie attacks disappears, understanding the zombies' movement patterns in advance can give you a greater chance of survival.

He looked around and found a fire extinguisher hanging on the wall.

He picked up the fire extinguisher with one hand and threw it towards the zombies. It hit a zombie on the waist and rolled to the ground.

Bang, bang, bang.
The zombies showed no reaction to the movement made by Zheng Xun. They still gathered in front of the door and kept reaching out to scratch at the door, leaving messy bloody scratches on the door panel.

After confirming that there was no risk, he carried the bread bag, took out the fruit knife from the back of his trousers, walked over, and stood behind the zombies.

Zheng Xun looked at the shop signboard.

Beauty manicure.

He put away the fruit knife, and did not choose to use the knife on the zombie, lest the zombie's blood would splatter.

Instead, he knocked hard on the window next to the corridor to attract them to come to the window.

However, they found that the four zombies were unmoved and were obviously more eager to enter the nail salon.

Are there any living people inside?
Zheng Xun felt that he was inseparable, so he simply grabbed a zombie by the neck, pushed it to the window next to the corridor, and pushed it out.

I saw the zombies fall from the third floor and hit the ground heavily.

But after a while, the zombie twisted its joints and climbed up again, and then disappeared into the green belt next to it.

After finishing the remaining three zombies in a row, Zheng Xun took the attitude of giving it a try, knocked on the door lightly, and asked, "Is anyone there?"

After a while, a clear girl's voice came from the door.

"Who is it? Is it the rescue team?"

It seems to be a girl waiting for rescue, but Zheng Xun felt that the voice was inexplicably familiar, as if he had heard it somewhere.

"It's not a rescue team, it's just passing by just collecting supplies."

It seemed that Zheng Xun's words were quite sincere. After a while, the door opened slightly.

When the people inside the door saw the boy in the helmet with a few bags of bread in his hand, hesitation flashed in his eyes.

She turned towards the room and asked: "Sister Youzhen, he is holding bread in his hand, what should I do?"

After speaking, a new face approached, and at the same time opened the door a little more, but there was an anti-break-in iron chain hanging on the tip of the door.

With cold eyes, she looked up and down at the person outside the door, curled her lips and asked, "Hey, is that bread in your bag?"

Zheng Xun saw the other party's delicate and beautiful face, with a cold and arrogant air.

Her appearance is indeed considered top in South Korea, but her disdain for being mean when she speaks is also considered top in South Korea.

Zheng Xun immediately confirmed the identity of the beauty in front of him.

Lin Youzhen.

A third-year student at Bindong Junior High School, the famous eldest sister in the school often uses her power to bully other students in the school.

Isn't it a coincidence? Zheng Xun saw that the elder sister didn't recognize him, so he lifted the bag in his hand and said, "It's bread. I just got it from the cake shop next door."

Lin Youzhen scanned the aisle, but found no trace of zombies, as if giving an order, he said, "Give me the bread, and then talk about other things."

Seeing that Lin Youzhen was still acting like a big sister, Zheng Xun decided to tease her and asked calmly, "What, are you very hungry?"

Lin Youzhen rolled her eyes, turned her head to look to the side, and took a deep breath, as if she was trying to suppress the irritability in her heart.

Then he turned his head, stared at his eyes with long eyelashes again, and said, "Xi Ba, don't you understand human language? Tell you to bring the bread!"

"Here's the bread for you, what about me?" Zheng Xun was not impatient.

"It's fine if you go to the bakery again, what's the point?!" Lin Youzhen scolded impatiently.

Zheng Xun pondered for a moment, then said in a deep voice, "You are right."

After saying that, he turned around and left.

At this time, the girl who opened the door hurriedly shouted: "Oppa! Sister Youzhen said the wrong thing just now. We really need bread. Please stay, Oppa!"

Zheng Xun stopped when he heard the sound of crying behind him, took out a small piece of bread with seaweed and meat floss from his bag, and threw it behind him.

The fist-sized bread rolled to the ground, and the meat floss was scattered. The unique aroma of bread floated into the girl's nose through the crack of the door.

The tearful girl smelled the fragrance and could no longer care about anything else. She immediately lay down on the ground through the crack in the door and stretched out an arm to pull out.

Because of too much force, the little face was squeezed against the door panel and flushed, and the knees rubbed against the ground making a soft rubbing sound.

His fingertips finally reached the bread that was thrown on the ground. He immediately pulled it back and held it in his hand regardless of the dirt. He sat down and ate it.

"Hiss, Xiba." Lin Youzhen, who was behind the door, heard Zheng Xun's footsteps gradually receding. It was unbelievable that this boy ignored him completely.

She even threw the bread on the ground, which was a blatant act of provocation and insult. She had never been treated like this before, and the expression on her face became increasingly ugly.
