Chapter 5, The Scourge

Chapter 5, The Scourge

Under the signal of Harvey Harmon's eyes, the boy next to him took out the pistol from his waist, and then moved to the door as quietly as possible.

Through the small peephole, he saw an Asian young man wearing a helmet standing outside. He was wearing a pizza shop's overalls and holding a stack of pizza in his hand.

"Hello? Is anyone home? The pizza you ordered has arrived." Chen Lin'an said loudly while ringing the doorbell.

"It's strange, the lights are clearly on inside, but why no one opened the door." Seeing that no one opened the door for a long time, he also thought with some doubts in his heart.

Ma Zai, who was standing at the door, also turned his head to look at Harvey Harmon after hearing Chen Lin'an's voice, not knowing what to do next.

Harvey Harmon wanted to beat Joey Baker to death again to vent his anger. Who knows when this damn bastard ordered takeaway, could it be before they came?
The cold light in Harvey Harmon's eyes flashed, and he instantly thought of getting rid of the delivery boy outside to save himself from the trouble.

But thinking of his elder brother's warning to him not to cause extra problems, he thought for a few seconds and said softly to the boy at the door: "Let's hide, you send him away quickly, remember not to show any tricks."

Ma Zai also nodded when he heard the words, and after watching the people behind him hide, he put the gun in his hand back to his waist, then cleared his throat and said, "Wait a minute, I'm looking for some change."

After saying that and waiting for a few seconds, he opened the door halfway, and then took the stack of pizza from Chen Lin'an.

Although Chen Lin'an was a little surprised why it took so long to open the door, he didn't say anything. He just said softly according to the procedure: "Thank you for your trust, the total is 32 dollars, and I will send you a few coupons. I look forward to your next visit."

Ma Zai took the pizza and put it on the ground, then took out four ten-dollar bills from his pocket and handed them to Chen Lin'an, saying, "You don't need to look for it, the rest is your tip."

Chen Lin'an also smiled politely when he heard this, and once again said to the generous customer in front of him: "Thank you for your generosity. I wish you a good mood every day."

Ma Zai nodded slightly when he heard this. He just wanted to send the person away quickly.

Just as he was about to close the door, the person responsible for cleaning up the corpse suddenly let go, and the corpse he was dragging slid down four or five flights of stairs, and the corpse's head made a thud on the floor.

Seeing this, Ma Zai, who was handling the corpse, changed his face instantly, and then hurriedly grabbed the corpse's leg and pulled it up again.

Because the living room is relatively open, there is really no space to hide a person, so Ma Zai dragged the body and stood on the stairs.

But he didn't expect that the body was beaten to a bloody mess, the sticky blood reduced friction, and the weight of the body itself was not light, so he suddenly let go of his hand, causing this accident.

Ma Zai and Chen Lin'an at the door also heard the sound, Ma Zai turned his body slightly and used his body to block Chen Lin'an's sight.

Chen Lin'an just turned around when he heard the noise, but he didn't ask any questions or look around curiously. He thought it might be the cat or dog at home that knocked something down.

In this way, Chen Linan set off on his way home again on his motorcycle.

Ma Zai in the room watched Chen Lin'an's motorcycle drive farther and farther from the window after closing the door, and found nothing unusual, which made him heave a sigh of relief.

"I'm sorry! Boss! I didn't do it on purpose! There was too much blood on the corpse. I missed him for a while and let him fall." Ma Zi, who knew he had made a mistake, saw Harvey Harmon's cold eyes Then he immediately explained in panic.

"But I immediately pulled him up again. It definitely didn't take more than two seconds, and the boy didn't notice anything unusual." Ma Zai hurriedly assured.

Harvey Harmon didn't say anything, just glanced at him with cold eyes, and then fell on the boy who just opened the door: "Did that kid find anything?"

Ma Zai, who opened the door, thought for a moment after hearing this, then shook his head and said, "It's probably not the case. I only opened the door halfway, and when there was another noise, I turned sideways. He probably didn't see anything."

Harvey Harmon didn't say anything when he heard this. He just walked to the window to confirm that no one was around, then opened the door and stood outside where Chen Linan was standing just now.

"You open the door to get things just like you did just now, and repeat your actions." Harvey Harmon waved to the boy who just opened the door, signaling him to come to the door again.

After hearing this, Ma Zai stood where he was before again and demonstrated all his movements.

Harvey Harmon nodded after reading it. It seemed that the boy couldn't really see anything. His horse was so tall that it stood there like a wall.

Then he walked down the doorstep again and looked back.

"Don't move." Harvey Harmon suddenly said to the boy at the door.

When Ma Zai heard this, he quickly stood still and let the boss opposite him look around.

"You were indeed standing like this just now, right." Harvey Harmon confirmed to Ma Zi again.

After hearing the boss's serious question again, Ma Zai thought seriously for a few seconds, then nodded and said, "Yes, that's how I stood just now."

After hearing this, Harvey Harmon approached the house without saying a word, then grabbed the head of the horse boy who had just made the noise and knocked it on the stairs.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!."

"Ah! Ah! Ah!."

Accompanied by the thumping and muffled sound, there was the shrill scream of the horse boy, and he stopped until he was a little confused and could only hum Harvey Harmon.

"Just now when that kid turned around, he could see the blood on the stairs between your legs." Harvey Harmon turned his head and said in a low voice to the pony who opened the door.

"If this idiot hadn't pulled the body up high enough, he could have seen half of the body's head."

Hearing Harvey Harmon's words, the boy who opened the door was instantly covered in cold sweat. He was afraid that Harvey Harmon, who was furious, would also blame him.

"You did a good job just now. This is not your responsibility." Harvey Harmon said solemnly: "It's just that that kid is still a trouble after all. I'm not sure whether he saw it or not."

"You think of a way to let him die accidentally or quietly or reasonably."

Hearing Harvey Harmon's words, Ma Zai felt relieved, as long as he doesn't blame him and punish him, as for dealing with that boy reasonably, although it's a bit troublesome, it's not difficult to do.

Thinking of this, Ma Zai also nodded hurriedly and responded: "Understood, I will arrange it as soon as possible. I will closely monitor that boy in the past two days."

Hearing the reply, Harvey Harmon also nodded, and then continued to make arrangements: "Evacuate after cleaning up the scene, and take these two wastes back to feed the dogs."

"Yes!"

Half an hour later, the house flickered with orange firelight in the dark night, and then gradually turned into ashes and ruins, erasing all traces.
