Chapter 5 I Can't Wait
"It seems that a group of interesting people came."

Rhodes smiled and arranged his clothes, carrying the medicine box, and signaled to Susan if she needed to open the door by herself.

Susan was very calm, and after signaling her granddaughter to hide, she turned into the pale, lame old woman sitting on the chair again.

Rhodes opened the door.

A man in a black windbreaker with a stern face and a black briefcase was standing at the door, followed by four staff members in black uniforms.

"Hello, Authority, here is my ID." The man showed his ID.

"John? You are welcome. I'm glad that you are able to work hard for the safety of the people nearby." Rhodes smiled, and at the same time gave up the position at the door.

John nodded, glanced at Rhodes' face, and at the same time looked down at the medicine box in his hand.

"A nearby doctor?"

"No, I'm just here to change the medicine for my grandpa's patients."

Rhodes still had a smile on his face.

"Well, it's not safe on York Street recently. Be careful. If you need anything, you can come to the administration to find me." John reminded, and at the same time reached out and patted Rhodes on the shoulder. His smile was very gentle, and he looked Like an upright gentleman.

"Thank you for your concern." Rhodes nodded. Although he felt that John was a little too concerned about him, the other party had a good intention.

At the same moment, a purple light ball representing lust appeared above John's head.

It slowly merged into Rhodes' body.

The corner of Rhode's mouth twitched, and he felt a layer of goose bumps on his back.

Sometimes being too handsome is also a problem.

"This is my duty, for the people." John said righteously, and at the same time walked into the room and closed the door.

"Meet you again, Ms. Susan." John carefully avoided those puppets, walked to the sofa next to Susan and took out a stack of documents from his handbag. "How's your leg?"

"It's still the same, thank you for your concern."

"Here is a document that you need to sign. It is a disclaimer. If you damage your house during the process of catching demons, the Old London Building Bureau will repair it for you in full. Don't worry." John said solemnly .

"Oh, that's really great." Grandma Susan winked at Rhodes, as if to say, look, I'm a good law-abiding devil.

Rhodes was silent, and an authority officer in charge of investigating and handling demons was signing a disclaimer with a demon.

What kind of hellish joke is this.

"By the way, who is this?" John seemed to remember something, he turned his head to look at Rhodes, with a warm smile on his face, as if he felt that his smile could bring sunshine to Rhodes.

"He is Robert's grandson." Grandma Susan said calmly.

Hearing Robert's name, John's complexion changed, and he immediately turned his head, as if he had forgotten what he just said.

Rhodes narrowed his eyes, and it seemed that his scumbag grandpa's deterrence was quite strong. He could eat it on the devil's side, but he didn't seem to be bad on the administration side.

This old man obviously has such a good connection, why does he want to be a butcher after returning from the battlefield?
Rhodes was puzzled, but he was not entangled. The old man could do whatever he liked, as long as he lived freely and happily.

"Thank you for your generosity." A green 100 kroner note was handed to John along with a disclaimer.

"This is my support for the authority. Without you, we would not have a stable life now." Susan said with a smile: "Help me donate to your foundation."

"As you wish, I praise you, Ms. Susan." John put the money into his wallet.

Rhodes watched all this silently.

A green ball of greedy light emerged from John's body and merged into Rhodes' body.

"Ms. Susan, apart from demons, there have been several cases of missing women recently. Please be careful when you go out," John reminded.

"Okay, sorry to trouble you." Susan nodded.

"Then I won't stay any longer, I have to go to the next one." John got up and said goodbye.

This time, he didn't say hello to Rhodes again, he walked out the door and left with his four assistants.

Rhodes stood at the door and looked at John's back. Grandpa was right, the people in the administration looked like idiots.

"It's getting late, do you want to stay for lunch?" Susan was about to drive away. She lost 2100 crowns in the morning, and her heart was bleeding.

"Why not? I really want to try Ms. Susan's craftsmanship." Although Rhodes could hear the meaning in Susan's tone, why not do it to save a lot of money?

Shameless or something, can I have enough to eat?

Susan's face darkened, and it turned out to be Robert's grandson, with a shameless personality.

"Hey, please trouble Ms. Susan, I can't wait." Rhodes walked into the house.

A leisurely afternoon.

Rhodes couldn't enjoy it.

He hurried home after a meal of potatoes and beef at Susan's house, and he had to go to work in the slaughterhouse in the afternoon.

The Old London Slaughterhouse is located in a vacant lot near the lower reaches of the Thames in the southwest corner of the city.

In order to prevent the howling of animals from affecting people's rest and work, the location of the slaughterhouse will be selected in a remote location.

Compared with the outside scenes of suits, leather shoes, gauze dresses and long skirts, the painting style here is a bit masculine.

A group of well-built men in oil coats, shirtless and armed with knives, axes, saws and other tools, are dismembering pigs, cattle and sheep in the open space of the slaughterhouse.

Rhodes greeted everyone, harvested a batch of light balls of sinful power of greed and lust mainly in green and purple colors, picked up his ax hanging on the wall and walked into the cattle pen.

With the help of workers, a full-grown bull was pulled out.

In order to invigorate Rhode's strength and vigor, Robert arranged a job of slaughtering a cow for him.

Four workers tied the cattle to the posts while holding the limbs with ropes. Rhodes raised his ax and was ready to do it.

At this moment, the shouts came from outside the slaughterhouse.

"It's dead!!!"

Everyone in the square stopped what they were doing at the same time, and they looked towards the door.

A slaughterhouse worker pointed to the Thames not far away in a calm tone.

"There's a female corpse over there."

Everyone looked at Rhodes together.

As the grandson of the owner of the slaughterhouse, Rhodes is the acting head of the slaughterhouse when Robert is away.

Rhodes frowned and put down the axe.

"Go and notify the sheriff." Rhodes pointed at the workers at the door.

"Yes, little boss." The worker rode on the bicycle at the door and rode all the way to the block 10 miles away.

"George, you and Will go to calm everyone's emotions and ask everyone to stop working. From now on, don't leave the slaughterhouse."

"Okay, little boss." George and Will are the chief and deputy supervisors of the slaughterhouse. They both served as soldiers under Robert, and were recruited by Robert into the slaughterhouse after returning from the battlefield.

Rhodes walked into the chief's office.

He didn't have a particularly big reaction to the appearance of a female corpse in the Thames, especially after seeing the scene where the devil shed the human skin.

In a week, he saw no fewer than three corpses.

I saw it twice in the smelly ditch next to my home, and once it was even more outrageous. A miserly director of a textile factory was hung on a street lamp.

In this terrible era, people die and disappear inexplicably every day.
