Quenched long order

Chapter 3 The Missing Miner

Chapter 3 The Missing Miner

After walking with Garland for nearly 10 minutes, the mine gradually became more spacious. On the way, Garland took back his hardwood pickaxe. At the same time, the air became much fresher, and besides their footsteps, some other noisy sounds could be heard.

Thinking of being able to temporarily leave the mine, Sauer's pace was much faster.

When they came to a fork in a mine, a burly red-haired man saw the two and walked straight over.

"Hey Saul!" the red-haired man yelled.

Sauer stopped and looked at the red-haired man who rushed over. For some reason, he felt displeased. From the memories he gradually recalled, he vaguely remembered that he had some small conflicts with the red-haired man in front of him.

"Where's Sean?" the red-haired man asked loudly, with a very bad tone.

"You are looking for Sean and asking us what we are doing?" Garland stood in front of Saul, facing the aggressive red-haired man. Garland's strong figure was not in the least, at least he did not lose his aura in the slightest. On the contrary, Saul was of average build, but slightly taller. However, in a narrow mine, being tall may not be a good thing.

"Sean went with him this afternoon." Facing Garland, the red-haired man's tone eased a lot.

Hearing this, Shaoer knew the general situation. He recalled Sean's appearance and the name of the red-haired man in his mind. However, he found almost nothing. The only memory he had was one. Shaoer did go to the depths of the mine with another person this afternoon, but as for what he went to and what happened after he went, he had no idea.

"I don't know." Saul shook his head, he didn't dare to say more, for fear of exposing himself.

Hearing Saul's answer, the red-haired man's face gradually changed color, his eyebrows were knit together, and his eyes showed a fierce look, like a mad beast, which seemed to be about to pounce on him in the next second.

"Andrew!" Garland took a step forward, almost touching the red-haired man. The atmosphere between the two was tense, and it seemed that they were about to fight in the mine in the next second.

Andrew?This is his name?

Sauer narrowed his eyes slightly. He looked up and down the red-haired man, and found that Andrew deliberately avoided a direct collision with Garland during the collision with Garland, as if he didn't intend to provoke a dispute, so he had an idea in his mind.

"Andrew." Saul said in a calm voice, "Why don't you look elsewhere first? I'll be with Garland all afternoon."

"Saul has always been with me." Garland reacted after hearing what Saul said, and immediately echoed.

Andrew took a long breath, raised his right hand and grabbed his hair vigorously, obviously suppressing the anger in his heart, he clenched his teeth, and said angrily to the two while stepping back: "Okay...okay, I can't find it, I will come to you again." After speaking, he turned and walked deep into the mine, every step was very hard.

Seeing Andrew leave, Garland heaved a sigh of relief. He turned around and stared at Saul with sapphire blue eyes. Then, he took two steps forward and asked softly, "What's going on? Saul, tell me quickly."

Saul looked into Garland's melancholy eyes, and the two looked at each other for two seconds. Then, he looked away and whispered back, "Let's talk about it later."

The environment of the mine is relatively closed, coupled with the many fork roads, it is very easy to hide and be eavesdropped.

Occasionally recalling a little memory can only temporarily relieve the urgent need. Far water cannot save near fire. Sooner or later, he has to tell his "amnesia" to familiar people, otherwise, it is very easy to be exposed, especially in the case of frequent contact with each other.

Garland nodded and didn't ask further questions, but his serious expression meant that he didn't let go of his suspicions.

The two left the mine and walked to the entrance of the mine. Sauer stopped. He took a deep breath and felt the freshness of the fresh air filling his lungs. He seemed to be a few years younger and full of vitality. He took a long breath and looked up into the distance. The sun at dusk was like an orange-red plate standing above the sea level. Soon, the sun would sink below the sea level.

Before leaving the mine, he thought about many possibilities. Could it be that he was dreaming, or in the game world, or even in some kind of special reality show variety show, but now, when he stood at the entrance of the mine and stared at everything in front of him, the sunset, the ocean, the hillside, the miners, everything could not see the slightest flaw. It seemed that the whole world, which had always been like this, would not change for him. The reason why he saw the world in front of him was because he came here.

Garland walked straight towards the crowd.

Sauer looked at the psychic lamp in his hand. After leaving the mine, he no longer needed the protection of the psychic lamp, and the miners could move freely. He followed Garland's footsteps and walked out of the mine all the way, and finally gathered in the crowd of miners.

The smell of sweat and body odor mixed together to form a changeable and layered smell. Sauer didn't know how to describe it. He could only try not to take a deep breath, which was the only thing he could do now.

There are endless noises, some are discussing today's harvest, some are discussing going to the street to relax after get off work, and some are talking about saving money for a few more months before they can leave this place.

Sauer noticed that a short and fat man was walking towards the miners. The short and fat man was wearing a tall red hat with blue vertical stripes on his head, which looked rather funny. The short and fat man came to the front and back of the miner, looked around, found a stone and jumped on it.

The miner ignored the arrival of the chunky man and continued to chatter non-stop.

"Cough cough." The short and fat man put his left hand behind his back, held his right hand in front of his mouth, and fake coughed twice.

The noisy miners gradually quieted down, and turned their attention to the short and fat man.

"Gentlemen." The short and fat man raised his hands and pressed them down. "I'm glad to see that you all returned safely. I'm really happy for you. Now, everyone must be eager to go back to your home." He jumped off the stone and walked all the way to a black iron box. Then, he tapped the iron box lightly, and there was a dull sound from inside the iron box. Then he took out a golden key from his pocket and unlocked the iron box. You can leave here.”

The surrounding miners stepped forward one after another.

"One by one, one by one!" The chunky man put on a hypocritical smile. He reached out and took out a piece of slightly yellowed parchment from his pocket, and opened it. Afterwards, every time a miner put the psychic lamp into the iron box, he scratched a mark on the parchment, and read a number every time he scratched a mark.

Saul glanced at Garland, and the two silently lined up at the end of the line.

"44..." The short and fat man looked at the parchment, and then set his eyes on the last two people, "The number is wrong..." He muttered something in a low voice, and then said to the two of them, "Come up—" Before he finished speaking, he saw the extinguished radiance lamp in Garland's hand, "——why did the radiance lamp go out? You..." He looked at Garland with wide eyes, "...Garland?"

Garland nodded and whispered, "Mr. Bill..."

"Don't come here, stand still, or I'll be called a guard." Bill quickly took two steps back, his eyes rolled, as if thinking of something, "Please call me Mr. Wellington, I have a surname, which is different from yours."
