Mystery: Outlander Gods of Bloodborne

Chapter 3 Unemployment and the Brave Bar

Chapter 3 Unemployment and the Brave Bar

Old William came back from the shop when the figure was almost gone.

He rubbed his hands, and went upstairs to find Yagel who was still standing at the door, looking far away.

"Where's the watch?" He asked in a deep voice.

"Here." Yagel walked to the bed, took out the pocket watch and handed it to him.

The gold pocket watch is particularly dazzling even in a dimly lit room.Even if he is not an appraiser, Old William can see the value of this watch at a glance.

It can be said that it is a collection of nobles.

To Yager's surprise, seeing the extraordinary quality of the pocket watch, Old William didn't seem very happy, and he didn't feel overjoyed at all through the door at the beginning.

He didn't even dare to check the watch more, just stared at Yagel with cloudy eyes for a while, then turned and left with the watch.

Did he do something wrong? Was there a loophole before?
Yagel was a little taken aback. In my memory, Old William rarely seemed to be so serious.

Downstairs, Hank also tried to go up.

"Yager, are you okay?" He called from a distance.

Compared to old William, Hank had a better relationship with Yager before.Hank has been here for nearly ten years. He has a younger brother who is still in school at the Backlund Center. He is about the same age as Yager, so he has always taken good care of him.

"Thank you Hank, I'm fine." Yager raised his voice slightly and shouted back.

Before Hank could ask further, Old William who came downstairs grabbed his arm.

"What can he do? Mind yourself!" He interrupted suddenly and very loudly, and dragged Hank away.

Even if he couldn't see his expression, Yager could feel that the old William was nervous now, not to mention Hank.Hank stopped struggling immediately, and disappeared behind the counter with Old William.

Seems to have an unabashed opinion of him.

Yagel fell silent.

Is it because of the church?possible.Old William had opened the store for decades, longer than the experience of the two clerks combined. He was probably very familiar with the investigation process, and the church that suddenly appeared was obviously an extraordinary signal.

And he also withheld a key item from the investigation.

Yagel looked downstairs for a while in silence, then turned and closed the door.

There may not be much to ask from the boss tonight.Anyway, let's search for clues in the room first, the change in attitude is not serious.

But he was wrong.

A few hours later, the sky was dimly lit, and Yager received a piece of news at the dinner table that overwhelmed him.

Today's breakfast was abnormal. The small wooden table was full of broth and white bread that the old William was not willing to give to the clerk, and all of these were for Yager alone. After Hank separated from him yesterday morning, he was sent by William to another city overnight on a business trip.

"I don't need an appraiser anymore. Here is the salary for the next half a month. You can find other jobs." Old William said briefly but firmly.

Opposite him, the black-haired young man who had always looked quite calm showed a frightened expression.

unemployment? It's a path he never imagined
Today he was wearing a spare business suit that he dug out overnight from the closet next door. He pulled out a conspicuous wrinkle in the new dark green windbreaker under his fluctuating emotions.

"Why?" Yagel was caught off guard. "I don't have to be an appraiser, it's okay to look at the shop."

Well, actually he knows why. But it's too hard to be unemployed on the first day!

It turned out that I didn't have a college degree, and my savings were as little as two pounds in change. A little appraiser knowledge could help him find this job, which is already very good.More importantly, he did not have a research certificate, and it was difficult to find a store to take him in after he lost his job.

The evil Russell certificate system. Is he going to be the first tentacle monster in the world to die of poverty because of no job? !

Old William, however, looked resolute.

"No. Not only do I not need an appraiser, but I also don't need a third employee. After Hank comes back, I will switch to the wine business."

"But the store was running fine."

Yagel paused, trying to make a final struggle. "Are you worried that I really did something dangerous yesterday? I didn't—"

"No no no I don't care!" William interrupted him a little flustered, looking terrified that he'd say what happened yesterday. "I don't care what you're doing there, and it's not a decision made because of it."

This is a lie, Yagel clearly felt.

Didn’t the church say it’s okay when it left yesterday?Old William seemed not only worried about the church, but even more afraid of what happened yesterday.

"I'm old. It's too burdensome for me to buy and sell all the time. Selling wine may be more suitable for me." Old William continued.

They stared at each other in silence for a few seconds.

"Okay, thank you for your care during this time." In the end, Yager reached out and took the bag of dismissal money.

Five pounds is considered a cut for a budget-conscious boss, and this is already the best treatment he can get.

He originally planned to be a clerk to collect mysterious related materials, but now he can only change his plan.

Seeing Jagel agree, Old William heaved a sigh of relief, "That's good."

His originally stiff attitude quickly eased, and he pointed to the bag. "The gold watch is inside. I discussed it with Hank yesterday. This kind of thing is still beyond our scope."

The corners of his mouth twitched unconsciously, the pain in his heart was evident.

"You can give it to the church, or take it to the Bar of the Brave and sell it. That's the best destination for such ominous things."

"If you sell it, you have to give me one-third of the money. After all, I was the one who showed you the way." After hesitating again and again, he still couldn't help but add.

Yagel choked. "OK."

It is still a familiar capitalist routine.

He stood up and nodded his farewell. By the way, he stuffed a few pieces of white bread with bolognese sauce into his mouth, and happily watched the old William's face turn blue.

After asking about the details of the bar, he left the shop with a small suitcase.

The sky in Backlund was gloomy, and it was like this for eight months of the year. The air was heavily grainy, which made Yagel frown uncomfortably.

Compared with his impression of the upper city, where the streets are wide and the shops are tidy, the road to the bridge in the middle city can be said to be very different.Although it is much better than the East District, you can still see tattered scrap iron and garbage on the street corners from time to time, and even the trees have a sense of rust.

Walking down a few streets filled with weary commuters, he soon spotted the Brave Bar.

In the early morning, the bar is empty except for the drunks who have spent the night here.

"What would you like to drink?" The bartender glanced at him casually.

"A special cocktail, thank you."

Yager looked at the row of high stools in front of him. Most of them were stained with an unknown mixed liquid, and even the few survivors were greasy all over.

For his last good windbreaker, he chose to stand.

"Three pence." The bartender casually half leaned on the bar to receive the coins, and handed him a goblet. "Small suggestion, you can choose beer for the first time."

"Thank you for letting me know." Yager took the wine glass. "But I'm not the type to get drunk."

"Is Kaspers Kalinin there?"

The bartender raised his dark brown brows, looked him up and down, and raised his finger to the inside: "Ball Room No. [-]."
