Chapter 5 Rainy Night
Outside the dark window, thunder and lightning intertwined.

Anan was really sleepy.

"I'm afraid no one will come again tonight. I'll go to sleep on the second floor first."

She poured him a cup of tea and told him solemnly.

"If a guest comes and asks what books they want, you can check which ones they are, and pass the books out through the small square hole on the door. Remember, transactions are limited to the door, and you are not allowed to enter the house."

"It's not difficult to do, don't worry."

It was late at night, and it became colder and colder in the huge villa.

He stood at the door, looking into the distance through the small square hole.

While drinking tea, he imagined the appearance of the person coming, and he couldn't help but get a chill down his spine when he thought about it.

Those who come to the wilderness to buy special products late at night and cannot put them in the door are definitely not normal people.

Maybe it's the vampire from Twilight, who lives in places where no one is around.

Or the lonely ghosts of the Republic of China, who enjoyed buying old things.

Two dark figures appeared on the grass.

A blue light at the door automatically turned on, illuminating the appearance of the person coming.

Through the door, Xiaofa saw a man and a woman in gray raincoats.

The raincoat and hat tightly covered most of his face, so his face was not very clear.

One said quietly, "Dr. Chen, hello, come to pick up the books."

Seems like a regular customer.

"The doctor is not here tonight. I am the manager of the bookstore. What books do you want?"

The voice outside the door was so sinister that he couldn't help but take a few steps back.

There was a subtle change in the other party's tone.

"Sir, we want to buy the bound editions of newspapers from the early years of the Republic of China, all of them."

Sounds like it's acceptable.He relaxed a little.

"alright, please wait."

He searched for books on the query device. There are three bound newspapers, all of which are on the third floor.

He was about to go upstairs when the other party asked to come in and check the books in person to prevent buying fakes.

He remembered Ah Nan's instructions and realized that it might be dangerous to let them into the house.

put?Still not letting go?

He hesitated, removing his finger from the trigger that opened the door.

Do you want to wait?
"Little brother, have you thought about it? If you keep talking, we will leave."

The male guest's tone was somewhat provocative, "A big man should be quicker in doing things!"

"Handsome guy, we just came in to look at the goods. It's raining heavily outside. We've come a long way, and we're all soaked. Let's come in and have a rest..."

The female guest was soft-spoken, and seemed to be talking endlessly.

There is no way to keep guests from entering the house in the rain.

With a thought, he relaxed his vigilance, pressed down lightly, and activated the door opening device.

The visitor in gray came in dripping with water all over his body.

He watched the water on the raincoat flow in streams on the hall floor, and took a storage bucket by the door.

"Please take off your raincoat and put it in the bucket. There is a touch control device on the floor, so it's not good to get wet."

"Handsome guy," the female guest stretched out her hand, straightened the brim of her raincoat, and looked straight at him.

"It's not the first time we've been here before you—"

Her fingernails were painted the same color as black coral, and the skin on her fingers was white, glistening with water.

Before she finished speaking, a metal card popped out from between her fingers, and fell vertically on the floor like a knife.

A cluster of sparks flashed, and he heard a sound like a shattering screen.

"No fuss!"

The man picked up the metal card from the floor.

Fafa could see that his hands were wearing thin metal gloves, and on one wrist was a bracelet with a triangular cobra head logo on it.

Bad visitors, send them away as soon as possible!

He showed obedience and was very nervous.

Judging from their appearance and skills, they are not normal modern people.

Did they come here just for a few old newspapers?

This little scrap of newspaper might be able to find video materials in the National Library, and is it worth braving the heavy rain to bring equipment to the bookstore in the wilderness?
There must be something else...

After going up to the third floor, he asked the guests to sit down, and then looked for books along the numbers on the bookshelves.

The bound volumes of the three newspapers were placed too high, and it was difficult to remove them all at once.

Under these bound volumes, there was a row of unnumbered books, which were the "banned books" that Ah Nan wanted him to pay special attention to.

In desperation, he saw a silver-white metal clip next to the bookshelf, with the words "only for picking up books" written on it.

He took the clip to remove the bound volume, only to find that the two were greedily grabbing the unnumbered volumes.

"What you want are these three books, don't touch irrelevant books!"

He struck with a metal clip in his hand, drawing an arc of white light.

The visitor in gray saw that the metal clip was actually a weapon, and immediately dodged it.

The robots also made it to the third floor at some point, seemingly breaking the system.

The female guest proudly walked over, took out a key-shaped miniature camera, and took a photo.

"I just flicked my fingers just now, and I happened to hit the robot dispatching system. The system of this bookstore has not been upgraded yet!"

Ah Nan woke up from the dream, heard the noise, and hurried upstairs.

The male guest rushed over and grabbed her, laughing horribly.

The female guest looked at Xiaofa provocatively and smiled.

"Handsome guy, we have no grievances against you, as long as you let us take away the bound newspapers and these unnumbered books, I don't want to hurt you."

"The book can be given to you, let her go!"

He held the metal in his hands and twirled it, whistling with wind: "I won't run away."

The male guest glanced at Ah Nan, "We have been looking for her for a long time, and we thought she was on duty in the bookstore. I made a lot of money tonight!"

The metal clip hit the male guest hard on the head.

He flew over and kicked several times, and the opponent screamed and let go.

Ah Nan retreated to the bookshelf to take out another metal book holder.

"As long as I'm here, I won't let you take away the materials that my father has kept for many years. You come at me!"

The male guest took off the black snake-shaped bracelet without making a sound, and pointed directly at her.

"not good!"

Xiaofa saw a bright white spot appear on the snake's head of the black bracelet, and worried that it was an explosive.

He ran over at a sprint speed, smashed the opponent's hand, grabbed it and threw it out of the window.

The bracelet shattered the double-layer floor-to-ceiling windows, and a snake-shaped white light circled up his hand.

He felt lighter, dizzy, and fell straight to the floor.

Ah Nan ran over crying, hugging him and apologizing while weeping.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have brought you to such a dangerous place..."

"You said the day after tomorrow is my mother's birthday, I'll take you out to call her..."

"If you still have time to think about making a phone call, you're almost dead."

The male guest couldn't bear it, and made sarcastic remarks.

"You're young, you're good. You have the guts to snatch such dangerous goods. You won't survive tonight!"

The female guest has taken out all the important data in the robot system.

Nothing to do, cut in and comment.

"Thanks to your generosity to open the door, we easily got what we wanted. I was reluctant to kill you, but you asked for it yourself. It's a pity."
