As for this kind of person, Xun Ke's evaluation is: accept everything according to the order.

Don't forget his core idea is that human nature is inherently evil.

Because human nature is inherently evil, etiquette education is more needed.

After the wicked have received their due punishment, in Xun Ke's view, they can get rid of the evil and keep the good.

You can't even have the chance to start a new life—unless you make a fatal mistake.

In addition, he also advocated that his disciples can "do good deeds every day".

This kindness does not need to be a big thing.

Seeing a hungry and cold traveler handing over a piece of dry food and a glass of water; seeing the uneven road surface filling a little soil;

Even if you can't even do these small things, it's okay. Confucian scholars live in peace and stability, don't do unjust things, don't hurt others, and they are considered qualified.

Of course, the word "benevolence and righteousness" is just the most simple way of saying it, it is for the convenience of the people at the lowest level to understand, so that they can also understand what Confucianism is saying.

In addition to the two characters of benevolence and righteousness, Xun Ke also proposed higher-level and more perfect pursuits: filial piety, fraternity, loyalty, forgiveness, propriety, knowledge, courage, respect, tolerance, trust, sensitivity, and benefit

If someone can do all of these, it is enough to be called a saint.

Instead, take care of yourself first, and then when you have higher personal pursuits, you can improve it little by little. Even if you can't do it, there is no pressure, as long as you keep the word "benevolence and righteousness", it is enough.

It is precisely because of this that, along with the spread of that majestic essay, the words of Confucian benevolence and righteousness have spread far and wide.

Regardless of the logic at the bottom, and the process of climbing step by step and finally reaching the realm of the saint himself, it is more reasonable and clearer.

To use an inappropriate analogy: if a carriage can only seat six people, and there are tigers chasing six strangers behind, then the Confucian scholar in the carriage can only save five people, which is not harmful. Confucian benevolence and righteousness, under the Confucian concept, no one can criticize him for this, and Confucian students themselves do not have to blame themselves.

But if you are an Mohist, you have to go down to face the tiger by yourself, and if you don't go, you are not enough to be called an Mohist.

Of course, we can use this to say that Confucian scholars are not as noble as Mohists, but how many people are really willing to be so noble?

The verbal criticism is simple, but it is not so easy to put it into practice.

It is not easy to be able to drive wildly without seeing a tiger, but willing to do everything possible to save people.

Is it really because Xun Ke came out to sing the opposite tune that the Mohists were reduced to three thousand?

It's just because everyone likes it, but they don't want to do it.

Violating human nature, one must be educated by human nature.

Human nature is evil, and evil seeks good.
