Chapter 187 The End of the Ceremony

Chapter 187 The End of the Ceremony
The clever little Douzi knows what ordinary parents expect of their children.

Because Ah Shuang often mentioned her parents' nagging in front of her.

Nagging how dissatisfied Ah Shuang's performance.

She kept forcing Ah Shuang to become the greatest pride of her parents.

Xiaodouzi just embellished Ah Shuang's distress.

Unexpectedly, a satisfied smile appeared on Zhang Ling's face.

Just when Xiaodouzi was praising that all parents in the world are the same.

Zhang Ling pinched her face lightly and asked:
"Silly boy, do you know what to do to be the greatest pride of your parents?"

Xiaodouzi habitually touched his earlobe and said:
"Study well!"

This answer is the standard answer instilled by all the teachers in the school.

The teachers in the school interpreted this standard answer to the extreme.

As long as students study well, no matter how bad their behavior is, they can be forgiven and even appreciated by teachers.

Whenever a student does not study well, even an unintentional move will make the teacher furious, and he will ask you to invite the parents over every now and then, and educate them together.

Unfortunately, Ah Shuang is the one who is often asked to invite parents.

Zhang Ling smiled slightly and said:
"Study well can indeed make you proud in the eyes of your parents. But it is not the only way to be proud of your parents."

"What do you mean?" Xiaodouzi asked.

Xiaodouzi who thinks the answer is the standard answer.

Zhang Ling didn't get full marks here.

So he looked at Zhang Ling full of curiosity.

Zhang Ling stroked Xiaodouzi's face with her loving hand and said:

"I know my child, you want to get more love by saying that. But you should know that if you want to get love, you must first learn to love yourself, and always know how to maintain your own image."

Xiaodouzi's thoughts were directly expressed by Zhang Ling.

So I was a little embarrassed and called "Mom".

Zhang Ling said:
"Son, since you want to be the pride of your parents, you must learn to discover your own shining points, and then you can show them to your parents."

Xiaodouzi answered "Oh" half-understanding.

Li Xiang on the side also looked at her seriously.

She nodded at Li Xiang with a smile, and then said to Xiaodouzi:
"You have to know that for parents, you can find a lot of things to be proud of from your children. It's not just an option to study hard for success and fame. Of course, it's not the children of other people who are limited to the adults."

When Xiaodouzi heard this, he instantly felt that he was much happier than Ashuang.

Because A Shuang's parents let A Shuang live in the shadow of other people's children every day.

So with a happy smile, she called "Mom" again to Zhang Ling.

Zhang Ling nodded with a smile and continued:
"Mom just wants you to live healthy and be more self-reliant in the future. But if you want to be proud of you, there are a lot of things to say. For example, Xiaodouzi, you can get up by yourself without crying. You have your own persistence. You have a goal, you know how to care for your parents, etc.”

Xiaodouzi looked at Zhang Ling in disbelief and asked:
"Mom, is this true?"

What Zhang Ling said was not too simple for Xiaodouzi.

It feels like every minute can make Zhang Ling's mother live with infinite pride.

When she saw Zhang Ling smiled and nodded at her and said:
"Children, please don't entrust your emotions and efforts to study. Learning is very important, but experiencing life is more important. Learning this kind of thing, just have a clear conscience. Mom just needs to know that this is already your best effort. Naturally I’ll be proud too.”

Little Douzi shouted excitedly:
"Mom, you are the best mother in the world!"

Because Zhang Ling liberated her nature|nature.

Xiaodouzi is much happier than classmates like Ah Shuang.

Just because there is always a saying that inspires countless parents not to let their children lose at the starting line.

Therefore, many parents desperately let their children entrust all their emotions and efforts to study.

As everyone knows, many times it is not the children who lose at the starting line.

It's someone standing at the finish line yelling for you to run.

Of course, they at the finish line here are not just students in a simple sense.

And the capital you and I have been ignoring.

So the children on the starting line, in their eyes at the finish line, are originally a joy.

Zhang Ling reached out and touched Xiaodouzi's little face, showing a somewhat proud smile and said:
"Anyway, as long as you know that Xiaodouzi is your mother's daughter. Every time you grow up in your life, your mother will be very proud. There is no way, mother likes Xiaodouzi, and often the point of pride will be very low."

Li on the side wanted to hear it.

Zhang Ling regarded Xiaodouzi as her own.

The little Douzi in his arms stretched out his hand to hug Zhang Ling.

So he took two steps forward, and the moment Xiaodouzi hugged Zhang Ling, Li Xiang could clearly feel her two hands resting on his shoulders.

The hearts of the three got so close again.

So close that you can hear each other's heartbeats beating together.

This seems to symbolize that they are a real family.

Birds in the distance chirped cheerfully at the same time.

It's more like sending blessings to their happy family.

The next morning.

Li Xiang is like an expert who specializes in the study of national culture.

I learned from yesterday that Zhang Ling will preside over the rope exchange ceremony.

He has been spreading some knowledge about rope changing to Zhang Ling.

It is also to prevent Zhang Ling from being in a hurry when she does not understand anything during the rope exchange ceremony.

As the name suggests, "changing the rope" refers to replacing the old rope on the body with a new one.

In Manchu shamanism, there is a goddess of the first grandmother, called "Mama Fotuo" and "Grandmother Liuzhi".

In normal days, its place of worship is a foot-long yellow cloth bag hung on the Sauron pole on the north side of the ancestral box on the west wall, commonly known as "children's bag" or "mother's bag".

Before the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, the Manchu people did not compile genealogies, and each ethnic group used ropes to record their population and reproduction, so the ropes were called wordless genealogies.

The small bows and arrows hanging on it represent boys, and the brown bells represent girls.

In the past, the ropes had to be replaced once a year, and the threads had to be obtained from Jiujia. There were three colors: white, green, blue, and twisted into a rope.

Hang it around the child's neck to make a cross knot, without fastening the buckle, the lock rope is the rope, it is only worn during the sacrifice, and it is usually put in the rope pocket.

The rope pocket is sewn with 1 foot yellow cloth, and the upper mouth can be retracted by wearing a rope. There is a long rope inside, which is more than ten meters long.

The lock is a thick rope made of colored threads, with five-color cloth strips sandwiched along the seam, one end of which is hung on a nail in the corner, dragged to the branch of a willow tree on the left outside the door, and tied to it, with stale yellow rice noodles and small boiled fish. One bowl each, bowing down to it, it's for zippers.

The new colored thread is exchanged for the old colored thread on the necks of boys and girls.

In addition, according to the custom, when a girl gets married, she should take off her own rope from the rope, which is called "plucking the rope".

The original ropes of the Li family were covered with small bows and arrows and bangs. Due to the age, they could not be shaken off, and the cloth of the rope pockets had also turned black.

The suo bag was always kept in the home of Mukunda (the clan leader) in the early Qing Dynasty.

When a family in the clan gives birth to a child, it must report to the patriarch and mark it on the rope, which records the population of the family.

For the above common sense, Li Xiang will ask each time he says:
"Ling'er, what details do you not understand about what I said? Just tell me if you don't understand. I can explain it for you in detail again."

Xiaodouzi on the side could hear calluses in his ears, and said in a somewhat innocent tone:

"Dad, don't worry! During the ceremony, if Mom forgets, Xiaodouzi will definitely remind you."

Zhang Ling showed a bit of doting, patted Xiaodouzi's head and said:
"Okay, our little Douzi is the smartest."

But Li Xiang poured a basin of cold water on his head and said:

"Yeah, our little Douzi is amazing! I've said it several times, girl, you must take the Brown Dang when the time comes. But you have a special liking for little bows and arrows, and you always talk about it."

After Li Xiang finished speaking, he let out a long sigh.

Xiaodouzi grabbed Li Xiang's arm and shook it, explaining:
"Father, I understand, I understand! People just want to know whether small bows and arrows can be played? Tell me quickly."

Li Xiang is helpless!

Unexpectedly, Xiaodouzi is still most interested in small bows and arrows like a boy.

So I could only repeatedly tell Zhang Ling to look at Xiaodouzi more.

Enjoy the parish.

Put an altar in the yard.

With the help of Li Xiang, Zhang Ling cut down the small willow tree (other miscellaneous trees are not allowed) that had been optimistic about yesterday and brought it back.

Before the start of the sacrifice, it was planted in the southeast direction of the courtyard, and red, yellow, blue and white paper strips and water dumplings were hung on it.

(Note: This willow tree is commonly known as "Sacred Tree" or "Niangniang Tree", etc.).

The shaman removes the rope pocket from the bottom of the ancestor board, opens the drawstring, takes out the descendant rope, and fixes one end of the rope to the hand rack at the north end of the ancestor board on the west wall of the room (or tie it to the place where the descendant pocket hangs);

The other end is pulled along the posterity pole (shed pole, stroller pole) to the willow branch in the courtyard, and then the new "suspended blessing rope" is put.

It is twisted with five-color threads from the nine families who have both good fortune and longevity, hung on the branches, and placed on the altar in front of the altar on the west wall, where cakes, incense dishes, wine, etc. are placed.

The cakes used are usually counted as nine, or nine on each plate, commonly known as "nine cakes".

Or nine dishes per dish, a total of nine dishes.

Then tie the sacrificial pig and place it next to the sacred tree.

(Note: Due to limited economic conditions, many families also use poultry or carp as offerings.)
The officiant Zhang Ling led the crowd to kowtow to the Western Wall God's Tablet and prayed.

Carry the indoor altar table to the outdoor sacred tree and rearrange the sacrificial utensils. After kowtowing and congratulating, start to receive and save the animals. The ceremony is slightly the same as the court sacrifice.

After the meat is cooked, it is still the same as the court sacrifice.

If chicken, fish, etc. are used as offerings, they can be steamed (boiled) cooked and served on a plate.

When offering sacrifices and kowtows, Zhang Ling leads the children who should change the ropes to perform three kowtows, and sometimes all the priests participate.

After the offering and salute.

The shaman chanted the sacred song around the altar and willow branches.

The men and women of the tribe held small bows and arrows representing boys, and Brown Dang representing girls. Under the blessings of shamans singing and dancing, they hung tokens on ropes one after another, praying for blessings.

Those who need to exchange ropes (generally children under the age of 15) go to the altar and kowtow to the sacred tree one by one.

Zhang Ling dipped willow branches in clean water and sprinkled them all over, and wrapped them around their necks with colored threads.

Then, take off the old rope used in the previous sacrifice from the rope of the descendants (incinerate after the ceremony), and then get the new rope hanging from the branch to wear around the neck, and then kowtow and retreat.

After wearing them all, share the food with the provided "Jiuluobing".

Some people boil (steam) the cakes and put them on the forks of sacred branches, so that children can eat them, which is commonly known as "grabbing blessings".

The children in the clan scramble for water dumplings to eat for auspiciousness.

Pig sacrifice is used, and the meat can be divided into portions at this time. The ceremony is similar to that of the court sacrifice.

The ceremony usually ends at noon.

The new rope is replaced after three days, or after the sacrifice is over, it is taken off and tied to the rope.

If it is for the marriage of a daughter, the son-in-law's family will provide offerings such as picking ropes and offering sacrifices to pigs.

And only take off the old cable and don't replace it with a new one.

But its sacrifices are mostly held separately.

The shaman put the rope back into the rope pocket and still hung it under the ancestral board.

After the clergy finished their dinner, they began to clean the house and yard, and sent the pig bones and other sundries eaten during the ceremony to the south for a hundred paces away. When they returned, they could not enter the shrine again. You can leave after three heads.

So far!

The Li family's sacrificial activities have ended.

However, Xiaodouzi did have an accident during this rope change process.

She took the correct Brown Dang in a regular manner.

He and the handsome girl covered each other and stole the small bow and arrow on the rope.

At that time, Zhang Ling just thought that the two children fell down by accident.

He never thought that when he picked up Xiaodou from school the next day, he would see Xiaodouzi's good friend A Shuang holding a familiar little bow and arrow in his hand.

Zhang Ling pointed at the small bow and arrow with a serious face and said:

"Little Douzi, shouldn't you explain to Mom?"

The clever little Douzi introduced deliberately:
"Mom, don't you know me? This is Xiaodouzi's best friend, A Shuang. A Shuang, don't be dazed, say hello to my mother."

Ah Shuang bowed obediently and cooperated:

"Auntie, hello! I'm Ah Shuang. I heard from Xiaodouzi that she is going to live in a new home today. Ah Shuang just wanted to ask, can I go to visit together?"

Zhang Ling listened to the words of the well-behaved Ah Shuang, so she could only postpone the matter of Xiaodouzi temporarily, and then put on a gentle smile and replied:

"Since you are all good friends. As long as Ah Shuang's parents agree, I will naturally welcome you, Auntie."

So Xiaodouzi took Ah Shuang's hand and jumped up happily on the spot.

He kept praising Zhang Ling's mother for her kindness.

The purpose of the little guy is simple!
Naturally, I want Zhang Ling to ignore the fact that she took out the small bow and arrow from the ancestral hall.

now!

Li Xiang came to Zhang Ling and said apologetically:
"Ling'er, I'm here. Sorry, I've already rushed here early, but the road is still a bit congested."

Zhang Ling replied with a slight smile:
"It's okay, I just came."

Li Xiang looked at the two jumping girls with a smile and asked:
"I seem to have missed something happy? Look how happy they are."

Ah Shuang, who was the first to notice Li Xiang's arrival, reminded Xiaodouzi.

Xiaodouzi happened to see the small bow and arrow in Ashuang's hand.

Some were afraid of being seen by Li Xiang, and wanted to reach out to snatch it, and temporarily hide it in a place where it was not suitable to be discovered.

But maybe Ah Shuang likes little bows and arrows too much.

Misunderstanding that Xiaodouzi wants to take back the little bow and arrow given to her.

While tugging directly with Xiaodouzi, he accidentally dropped the small bow and arrow at Li Xiang's feet.

When Li Xiang saw the little bow and arrow, he immediately restrained his smile, then bent over to pick it up with a serious face and said:
"Little Douzi, what's going on? You must give me a reasonable explanation today."

You must know that before leaving the ancestral hall, Li Xiang told Xiaodouzi again and again.

Only take what belongs to them and leave, and absolutely take what belongs to the ancestral hall.

At the beginning, Xiaodouzi vowed to fully abide by Li Xiang's words.
