Homecoming from Hogwarts

Chapter 40 Professorship

Chapter 40 Professorship
The last day of January happened to be the weekend, and the weather was fine today. The bright sunshine at eight or nine o’clock shone on the sparkling lake, and the rows of willow trees on the shore of the lake were full of new buds and green lawns. Swaying in the gentle breeze, the air is filled with the tranquility of the years.

On the playground, the teams of the four major colleges, wearing uniforms of different styles and colors, appeared on the Quidditch field at the same time. After some difficult and even fierce negotiations, they each occupied a corner of the field and practiced their team's tactics.

However, in order not to reveal the core secrets, except for the solid-eyed Hufflepuff, none of the other three companies showed their true level for their opponents to taste.

It took two days for Amosta to finally adjust his biological clock, standing in front of the window, looking at the vibrant Hogwarts, letting the breeze ruffle his soft gray hair, feeling a rare joy.

He made up his mind that in the future, if he encounters a commission that needs to work night shifts continuously, the commission must be [-]% higher than the market price.

While walking in the castle, the little wizards he met along the way gave him surprised looks, because almost everyone knew that the investigator sent by the school board was a person whose living habits were similar to bats and never appeared during the day , only like to be active at night.

The odds of seeing him in daylight are lower than the odds of spotting a troll in a castle.

In the auditorium, students who got up late were sparsely sitting, and at the staff table, three teachers, Flitwick, Sprout, and Snape were sitting together and talking softly, when they saw Amosta walking towards this side Professor Flitwick immediately stood up from his stool and congratulated him,
"We're talking about you,"

Flitwick lowered his sharp voice, "We've heard the gratifying news from Minerva, Amosta, and we all think you're qualified for the job."

"The premise is that you show your true level, Amosta."

Professor Sprout helped the patched and dusty hat on his head, and joked with a smile, "Of course, as long as you are willing to show one-thousandth of your strength, it must be better than some sensational guy Much better."

The three professors in front of him are all mentors who preach and teach. Amosta's attitude towards them is still very kind. He smiled to express his gratitude, and then said modestly,
"Education is a broad and profound knowledge. It's one thing to have knowledge yourself, but it's another thing to pass it on to young wizards well. Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout, I definitely can't compete with them. Compared with the experienced you two."

Amostar's ingenious compliment made the two of them very happy, Flitwick turned his head to look at Snape who pretended to be unfamiliar with Amosta and smiled,
"I'm afraid Severus will be disappointed, right? I don't remember how many times you have failed in the competition for this teaching position, and now, you have lost to your favorite student!"

"Maybe Severus is already used to this kind of defeat?" Professor Sprout's magic knife made Amosta, who was eating toast, couldn't help laughing.

Snape's face darkened, and he snorted softly,
"There's nothing to be proud of to be a professor of this course, Amosta, it's only good to be able to step down from this teaching position safely."

"Just because you can't do it doesn't mean I can't do it either, Professor." Amosta's smiling response made Snape's face darken even more thoroughly.

After a relaxed and happy breakfast time, they dispersed separately and made an appointment to go to the Three Broomsticks bar for a drink or two when they had time.

Amosta did not return to her residence, but came to Professor McGonagall's office. This meeting was obviously booked in advance. When Amosta knocked on the door of Professor McGonagall's office, she did not Show any surprises.

"Oh, thank God, you're finally here!" Professor McGonagall complained, pursing her lips slightly.

Perhaps it was because the heir to the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets did not make trouble and everything was in order, Professor McGonagall looked much better in mood and complexion than during the Christmas holiday,

"Anyway, Amosta, I have to thank you, there are a few kids in the upper class who have always dreamed of becoming an Auror after graduation.
You know, to be an Auror needs to have at least five NEWTS certificates including Defense Against the Dark Arts. If you keep following Gilderoy's teaching method, then these children will have to face their shattered dreams ahead of time! "

"I can only do my best, Professor McGonagall,"

Amosta agreed with a wry smile,

"But please don't expect so much from me. You know, I've never been that good at taking exams, let alone helping little wizards pass exams. Moreover, if the Chamber of Secrets incident is any clue , I definitely have to deal with it first.”

"Oh, we've all seen your abilities, Amosta." Professor McGonagall raised his chin and said displeasedly, "I think you really need to correct your excessive modesty. As for the secret room, oh, I can't control this anymore, Amosta, let Headmaster Dumbledore worry about it. He should also do something serious."

What can Amosta say, he can only continue to smile bitterly.

"As for the assignment of work between you and Gilderoy, I think so."

When talking about work, Professor McGonagall has a completely different attitude. She said with a very serious expression,

"Currently, the children in the fifth and seventh grades who most urgently need your help are about to face the two most important exams in their lives. This is related to their fate, Amosta, I hope you can cooperate with Gildero Division of labor, he is responsible for the teaching work below the fifth grade, and you are in charge of the fifth to seventh grade."

Amosta groaned and did not speak. Professor McGonagall's allocation plan is indeed reasonable, but it is contrary to his original intention of accepting this teaching position. If he can't get in touch with a few people in the protagonist group, then what is the point of his effort? ?
"About this issue, Professor McGonagall, I think it's better for me to discuss it with Professor Lockhart first."

In the end, Amostar did not give a clear reply.

After leaving Professor McGonagall's office, Amosta went to see Professor Lockhart non-stop. Tomorrow is a new week. He must finalize this matter this morning, and then use the afternoon and evening to make some preparations , even if his motivation for becoming a professor is not pure, but he is not willing to sit on a vegetarian diet and make his reputation like that of Professor Lockhart.

Speaking of Lockhart, Amostar couldn't help but feel very strange.

What kind of teaching method can win the unanimous "good reviews" of all the professors and most of the young wizards at Hogwarts, and even Professor McGonagall and Principal Dumbledore have pulled down their faces and asked him to "come out"?

I'm sorry everyone, this chapter is relatively short. I've been really busy these two days. I didn't get home until 11 o'clock in the evening. I haven't eaten yet.
