Chapter 44 Planetary Governor

Chapter 44 Planetary Governor
Compared with the burst of energy when Lieutenant Colonel Arvada rushed into the temporary command room of the church sanctuary in Karoo City, even the turbulent wave of orcs roaring out of the jungle rushing into the No. [-] outpost is nothing.

Just the look in his eyes caused the lone guard outside to collapse on the floor.

He then deftly "opened" the door with a power fist.

As he charged in, there was a rumbling, the wooden door shattered and pieces flew dangerously through the air.

The planetary governor Misom and Major General Nilom who were in the command room both had their eyes wide open and their faces were pale. They couldn't believe that their soldiers would "knock on the door" like this, and they were knocked to the ground by the energy of the destructive position.

The female staff officer has a stronger body, and she got up the fastest.

"Lieutenant Colonel Arwada!" the staff officer shouted. "What do you mean? You nearly killed someone! I'll sentence you right away."

"I don't seem to be able to kill anyone, Staff Officer." Avada replied.

Staff Redwyne had shaken off her long black coat, reaching for her bolt pistol.

"Deliberately endangering the life of a superior officer. Article 416A of the Astra Militarum Disciplinary Regulations states that the staff officers present shall render immediate judgment and sentence to death."

Lieutenant Colonel Arvada didn't seem worried. "I am not the one to be condemned, Staff Redwyne."

Lieutenant Colonel Arvada pointed to the planetary governor Misom. "He is."

"What?" Governor Misom objected in his pathetic shrill voice.

Staff Officer Redwin said. "Are you trying to shirk responsibility?"

Awada was furious.

"You said we were only dealing with a group of space orcs and very few local orcs, didn't you?"

Major General Nilom replied. "Yes, that is the case."

Avada asked. "Then have you heard the story of the ghost orc?"

Nilom said, "It's just a legend."

Lieutenant Colonel Avada stared at the major general, "So, you don't know that the orcs who occupy the No. [-] outpost are the so-called "special warfare boys"?"

Governor Misom said. "Orcs are orcs."

Awada said, "That's not an ordinary orc. We have learned this lesson in Karst. Ghost orcs are real."

"They are a group of special operations boys led by the current war boss One Eye. They are few in number, but they are far more deadly than any orc I have encountered."

Staff Officer Redwin said, "I understand your distress over the loss of soldiers, but I believe this can be viewed as an intelligence error in the midst of magnetic confusion."

Awada shouted. "I'm not finished yet, staff officer!"

"Major General Nilom, I have completed the task you gave me. Now there are probably tens of thousands of orcs around there. Now, let me tell you, we can't even leave this world, because the orbital equipment is destroyed by several evil orc engines. Watch!"

Nilom spoke, "I...um...I think the situation...isn't that bad?"

Awada smiled, but it was not a good smile. "Major General, do you think I'd still be so angry if this mission turned out to be exciting?"

Avada turned to the whining of Planetary Governor Misom. "Governor, it's almost time for you to speak out, what happened to us?"

Nilom said, "What's going on?"

The governor whispered. "It's just that there are a little more orcs than expected..."

Awada shouted. "A little bit?! I saw almost thousands of them, and more are heading towards the orc gathering place!"

"Their waaagh will kill us! And now we can't even get out of here!"

Governor Misom shouted loudly. "This is impossible! There are not so many green skins in my world!"

Major General Nilom said, "Lieutenant Colonel!"

"What's going on?"

Avada saw that when he was talking to Nilom, Governor Misom had been staring at him.Just as he thought.

At this moment, Misom's face immediately lost its color, but Awada continued to speak. "We followed the traces of the battlefield to that place. In addition to the Cyclopes, more tribes are joining."

The expression on Major General Nilom's face was enough to confirm that Awada's statement was very reliable. "A whole army?"

Avada replied. "Worse."

Avada immediately turned to Staff Redwyne. "Consultant, our relationship is a bit unstable. I know you don't have jurisdiction over a planetary governor."

"So I can't ask you to do too much here, but can you just turn a blind eye to my overreaching for a while?"

The staff officer replied. "That depends on your reliability."

Avada pointed to Governor Misom and said, "He knows the number of wild orcs here, but he has kept it from the empire."

"I don't know at all!" Misom stammered, "I, I, I don't know anything about orcs."

Avada cursed. "There are thousands of wild orcs in the jungles around your planet's capital."

"Even the most incompetent and worthless cesspit in the Imperial world can report half or more of the accurate population of wild orcs, because they are not difficult to find."

Governor Misom said ashamedly like a man with blood on his hands. "It's because, ah, it's because of the planet's, you know, magnetic fields. It's hard for us to monitor, and... we don't know they exist."

Awada looked at the staff officer. "Can I?"

Staff Officer Redwin nodded, and Avada caught the planetary governor in an instant, within one breath.

He grabs his throat with a modified hand and squeezes it tightly. The Governor made a sound like a frightened mouse.

"Listen to me, you of this gentle world."

Awada growled. "If I grab your torso with a power fist like this and squeeze hard, your head will burst like a pustule."

The governor writhed in vain in the lieutenant colonel's hand like a wet towel, Arwada continued. "Why didn't you tell us about the wild orcs?"

"I don't know..." The governor was still trying to break free, but Avada clenched again, the server roared, and Misom screamed.

"Okay! Okay! I know!"

Avada let him go.Misom rubbed his reddened neck. "explain."

The governor said tremblingly. "We've had several orc invasions over the years, and they always seem to come back."

"Every time the orcs invade, we think they've been driven out, and they pop up again, either more orcs from space, or a wild orc infection."

"My grandfather, when he was Governor, claimed that he had fought off the last infection without the aid of the Empire, but when the wild orcs flooded again, he was obviously wrong."

"Every time we ask for help, the Empire doesn't seem to care much about our planet. Our tithes aren't big enough to support us devoting our inexhaustible resources to prepare for its next arrival."

Awada shook his head and said. "You kept quiet about the orc infection because you were worried about money."

the governor yelled. "You don't know what it's like to keep a world going."

"We are a garden world, and the empire has high demands on us, but if we are infected by orcs again and again, eventually the empire will abandon us."

"We decided to figure it out ourselves, and then, uh... the lie just kept getting bigger and bigger."

"Until now, orcs have been everywhere, cities have been destroyed long ago, and the eleventh tax has shrunk even more. We have waited for the Star Militia Army."

Arvada turned to Staff Redwyne. "Can you drop the charges against me, Staff?"

Redwyne turned from Avada to Governor Misom. "Yes, Lieutenant Colonel, very well. You're right that I have no authority over planetary governors, but I do feel that this matter is really... worth it..."

Governor Misom pleaded. "No no no! Please don't bring the Inquisition into this."

"Shut up," Redwyne said. "Failing to report orc infections is treason."

Avada turned to Major General Nilom. "Sir, I know you've done a good job of clearing the Gondvar system of orcs, but what the Gondvar VI government has done has destroyed that effort."

"Right now, we have really big war bosses in the world, and it's bound to get worse."

"How could they be worse, Lieutenant Colonel?" Nilom asked.

"If we don't lift the lockdown, we won't even be able to evacuate, if anyone realizes the reality, we will be..."

Before the words were finished, a lieutenant walked into the room in a panic. "Sir!"

"Navy says they won't try to resupply anymore, loss beyond imagination!"

Major General Nilom's face was pale.

"Sir?" the lieutenant repeated.

The major general sighed, and made a crazy decision in his heart.

"Lieutenant!"

"Yes, sir!" said the lieutenant.

he answered. "You answer them, the orc blockade will end soon, just in..."

"Within a week!"

 (whispers in meaningless pain)
