The Heavens Begin with Detective Di Renjie

Chapter 59 How is it compared to Huineng?

Chapter 59 How is it compared to Huineng?

Different from the silence in the original book, now the detection of the Bloody Eagle case has caused an uproar in the court.

Princess Taiping's treason and relegation to a commoner means that one of the three major forces in the capital of God has gone.

The three-party confrontation that was supposed to check and balance each other suddenly turned into a two-strong confrontation between the tip of the needle and the wheat awn, and the situation suddenly became a little tense.

Although the atmosphere was tense, Wu Zetian's power suppressed it. Neither Wu Sansi nor Prince Li Xian dared to act rashly.

Of course, it's not Shen Youzhi's turn to worry about these things, and his influence is not enough to stand on the stage.

Right now, he can only sneak in and pay a visit to the celebrities in Shendu.

It is still inappropriate for him to meet people in the court. This is not in line with his personality, and it will also arouse Wu Zetian's suspicion.

Therefore, he can only meet those people who are between the rivers and lakes and the court.

At this moment, he was on his way to Tiangong Temple.

Tiangong Temple is a temple specially built by Wu Zetian to welcome Zen Master Shenxiu to Luoyang.

Shen Youzhi's trip is precisely to visit the famous Zen Master Shenxiu.

Although he is a member of the Taoist sect and is called a "Daoist idiot" by the world, he is not the poisonous only of the Taoist sect.

The way he pursues is not the way of any school or school, but the way of nature of heaven and earth.

So he didn't care about the disputes between the two sects, but only cared about the philosophical thoughts in the teachings of the two sects.

In Shen Youzhi's eyes, regardless of Taoism or Buddhism, the disputes between them are nothing more than interests and inheritance.

Those who devote themselves to studying these things cannot actually be regarded as people who "seek the Tao" or "practice Zen", but can only be regarded as people in "Taoism" or "Buddhism".

The essence of Taoism has always been "Tao follows nature" and "do not fight for it"; Buddhism also always emphasizes "following circumstances" and "not forcing".

Therefore, people who can truly practice these two thoughts will never attack or even abuse each other because of these secular disputes.

This is why Shen Youzhi believes that "school" is not "sect".

A school is a collection of people who purely study ideas, and a sect is a collection that exists for profit.

After any thought evolves into a sect, it is impossible to remain pure, and it will inevitably become a mixed bag, which is determined by the nature of religion.

Only the exchange and collision of ideas is the purest light of wisdom.

In Shen Youzhi's view, Taoism and Buddhism are both philosophical thoughts that came from the knowledge of the ancient personality, and should be inclusive, and choose the best.

Whether it is Taoism or Buddha, any kind of thought that can last for thousands of years must have its uniqueness.

Tiangong Temple is not far from the imperial city, Shen Youzhi soon stood in front of the temple gate.

It's just that it's a bit strange that he appeared at the gate of the monk's temple in this Taoist robe.

The little novice at the door was also unclear, so it took a long time before he asked: "This Taoist priest, what's the matter with you?"

Shen Youzhi said bluntly: "I am here to pay a visit to Zen Master Shenxiu."

"This……"

The little monk was at a loss for a moment.

Usually come here, apart from dignitaries and dignitaries, they are also monks from the same sect. I never thought that a Taoist priest would come here today.

"Daoist, please wait a little later, let the little monk go to report."

After finishing speaking, he trotted all the way into the temple, and returned after about half a stick of incense.

"Daoist, the Zen master invites you into the temple."

"Thank you, let the mage lead the way."

In this way, under the leadership of the young monk, Shen Youzhi walked among the temples in the temple.

Not long after, he was brought to a wing.

"Daoist, the Zen master is waiting in the room."

"Thank you."

The little monk clasped his hands together, saluted, and then quietly retreated.

Shen Youzhi looked at the open door and walked in slowly.

The layout in the wing room is extremely simple, except for a bookcase, a bed, and a desk, there is nothing else.

An old Zen master with a dignified appearance is sitting on the bed, closing his eyes and concentrating, reciting Sanskrit scriptures in his mouth.

Hearing the movement, the old Zen master slowly opened his eyes and looked at Shen Youzhi.

The surprise in his eyes flashed past, and then he asked in a warm voice: "Please sit down."

"Thank you Zen master."

After Shen Youzhi finished speaking, he sat down opposite Zen Master Shenxiu.

"The Taoist priest wants to see the poor monk, but he doesn't know why?" Chan Master Shenxiu asked softly.

"I'm here to ask Zen Master about Buddhism." Shen Youzhi replied slowly.

Shenxiu was stunned when she heard the words, and was also stunned for a while.

Since he was welcomed into Luoyang, the capital of gods by the emperor, countless people have come to listen to his lectures, among them there are many dignitaries, even royal nobles.

But it was the first time Chan Master Shenxiu met such a special visitor as Shen Youzhi.

"Xuanmen has its own wonderful method, why does the Taoist priest seek far away?" Zen Master Shenxiu asked in puzzlement.

"I have learned one or two ways of Taoism, and I am about to ask about the way of Buddhism." Shen Youzhi replied truthfully.

Hearing this, Zen Master Shenxiu couldn't help but his eyes lit up, and he sighed: "Amitabha! The Taoist priest has a broad mind, and has the courage to embrace all rivers and embrace the universe. His future achievements will be limitless!"

"The Zen master is absurd." Shen Youzhi shook his head, disapproving.

In his opinion, he doesn't have such a big mind, he is just a seeker on the road of practice.

"Both Buddhism and Taoism are the principles that the predecessors and ancestors have learned from the world.

The so-called "horizontally viewed as ridges and laterally as peaks" has different perspectives and different natural paths, but the essence behind it is figured out. "

Shen Youzhi slowly expressed his point of view.

"Excellent! Excellent! What a saying of 'horizontally viewed as a mountain and laterally as a peak', this statement is deeply wise and amazing!" Zen Master Shenxiu exclaimed again.

He didn't expect that the Taoist priest who suddenly appeared in front of him would casually say the most important principles of Zen Buddhism.

Zen Buddhism emphasizes "initiating the mind with the heart", which means that all living beings can get rid of the tangible obscuration and gain direct insight into the essence of things through the form.

And this sentence "Looking horizontally as a mountain and as a side as a peak" is exactly the relationship between "shape" and "quality".

The same mountain has different shapes because of different viewing angles.

But in essence, they are all the same mountain.

What Zen pursues is to look directly at the essence of things without sticking to all "shape".

This is the same principle as Taoism's so-called "Tao can be Tao, very Tao".

Tao is the essence, and words are just a form of expression at present.

Therefore, any truth put into words is not the eternal and most essential truth.

If dialectical materialism is used, it is the relationship between "content" and "form"——

Content determines form.

Forms are often changeable, and the same content can have different forms of expression.

Thinking of this, Zen Master Shenxiu couldn't help sighing again: "The Taoist master has a very deep understanding, and he will definitely be able to understand the supreme and wonderful Dharma in the future!"

Afterwards, he humbled himself and said: "Today, the poor monk is using a trivial method to attract jade."

After speaking, Zen Master Shenxiu explained his understanding of "Zen".

Shen Youzhi listened quietly, sometimes nodding and sometimes thinking, but he didn't express any opinions from the beginning to the end.

After about an hour, Chan Master Shenxiu stopped talking and waited quietly for Shen Youzhi to ask questions.

Shen Youzhi, who closed his eyes and meditated, opened them immediately, and said, "I have a question."

"Teacher, please tell me." Zen Master Shenxiu said with a smile.

"A Zen master said, 'All supernatural powers come from the mind'.

Dare to ask, how can we meet the God in our hearts? "

Shen Youzhi asked seriously.

"There are two methods, one is cultivation and the other is enlightenment.

Heaven and man can realize it, and mortals can cultivate it. "

Zen Master Shenxiu replied.

After Shen Youzhi listened, she thought in her heart:
These two methods should be the gradual enlightenment advocated by Shenxiu and the sudden enlightenment advocated by Hui Neng.

Cultivation is practice. Through continuous practice, you can sharpen yourself and temper your nature, and finally you can see your mind.

Enlightenment is epiphany, that is, the enlightened person who has received the wisdom bestowed by heaven, once he breaks through the confusion and sees the mind directly.

There is no distinction between the two methods, they are just suitable for different people.

As an ordinary person, of course it is through continuous practice to improve one's xinxing.

But for those who are enlightened with supreme wisdom, epiphany is more suitable for them.

Thinking of this, Shen Youzhi couldn't help asking: "I don't know how the Chan Master's method compares with Huineng's method?"
