Gluttonous Warlock

Chapter 6 Instructor Carter

Chapter 6 Instructor Carter
After two boring arithmetic classes, the next thing is Alan's favorite physical education class.

The girls go to the tennis court to sway their youth.

The boys were driven into the hellish martial arts training hall, where they were ruthlessly ravaged by instructor Carter.

Allen took a deep breath and fully drew the bowstring.

The feather arrow flew out with a whoosh and hit the archery target 50 meters away.

"Eight rings!"

Instructor Carter took out a tin flat jug from his pocket, avoided the students' sight, took a sip of wine secretly, smacked his lips in satisfaction, then wrote down Alan's grades, and commented by the way:
"There is still room for improvement, keep working hard!"

"Hey! Look at mine next!"

A short and thin boy with a tuft of yellow hair on his head came over with a bow in his hand.

Pretend to be careless, hit the bull's-eye with an arrow!

"Ten rings!" Instructor Carter turned his head and glanced at the little yellow hair, "Robin, the range of 50 meters is too short for you."

"That's right, instructor! I usually practice at home with my dad. I always shoot targets that are [-] meters away. Basically, the score is around nine rings."

The little yellow hair was pretending to be aggressive, and winked at Allen meanly.

"Ha ha……"

Allen walked over with a sneer, and grabbed the back of his neck, like an eagle catching a chicken.

"You are very arrogant, Robin! I am not as good as you in archery, but when it comes to fighting... Shall we go to the ring to practice?"

"Uh, let's forget about it! I admit that you are better at this aspect!" Robin immediately hesitated.

This kid is Alan's best buddy in school. His father is a hunter, a well-known marksman in the town, and he is also good at bow and arrow.

However, Robin's physique is not as strong as Allen's, and he can only be hanged and beaten for unarmed combat.

"Alan! You didn't come to school this morning, we thought you were also abducted by the circus!"

Another guy joins the chat.

"I didn't come this morning, it really has something to do with the circus."

Using Huatou, Allen briefly recounted his experience again.

Speaking of the thrilling place, the boys around became restless.

Some people were nervous, some were amazed, and some suspected that he was exaggerating, boasting himself as a brave and resourceful hero.

Allen didn't bother to pay attention to those doubting voices, and was more concerned about another matter.

"I heard that two senior boys from our school are missing. Do you know who they are?"

"Both are in the fifth grade, Marlowe from class one, and Hugo from class three." Someone answered.

Allen nodded thoughtfully.

Marlowe and Hugo are both boys in the same grade as Kelly.

I heard from my sister before that the two boys have tested the qualifications of high-level warlocks, and they are highly valued by the principal.

"I heard that he ate candy from the circus, fell asleep, and was captured without anyone noticing."

"There were at least 300 students who went to the circus yesterday afternoon, and no less than ten of them got candy by lottery. Why did only two of them pass out?"

Some people questioned.

"That's right!" Robin took the bait, "I also drew the third prize yesterday and ate a lollipop, but I didn't feel dizzy or sleepy."

"That's because your aptitude is so poor that the kidnappers look down on you."

Behind Robin, the martial arts instructor Mr. Carter's voice suddenly came.

"Instructor, what do you mean?" Robin asked unconvinced.

"Do you want me to explain more clearly?"

Carter glanced at him lightly.

"The gang that abducted children through circus performances tampered with the lottery box."

"When you put your hands in to draw the lottery, you unknowingly did a blood test."

"The conductor will record the test results, and then give out prizes, that is, lollipops, to those children who have the potential of being a warlock."

"Robin, you won the lottery, which shows that you have the qualifications of a warlock, but your lollipop is not mixed with drugs, which means that your qualifications are only inferior, and it is difficult to become a real warlock."

"The truly valuable abduction targets are those children who have tested for medium or even high aptitude."

"The lollipops distributed to them in the name of prizes were all drugged."

"Mr. Carter, how did you know these inside stories?" Allen asked calmly.

"The two missing boys, Marlowe and Hugo, are the promising seedlings of the principal, Ms. Sola. What's more, they are the children of rich families. Things have already become serious. How could I not know?"

Mr. Carter stroked his mustache and smiled wryly.

"Now the principal and the sheriff are very annoyed, and they are tracking down the whereabouts of the circus. The inside story I just said was heard from a friend of the police officer."

"So it's like this..." Robin scratched his head with a complicated expression, "Perhaps, I should be thankful for my mediocre talent."

"By the way! In addition to Marlowe and Hugo, there is also Alan, isn't he almost kidnapped?" Robin suddenly thought of something, turned to look at Alan with envy in his eyes: "According to this, Alan Lun's warlock aptitude is definitely not bad!"

Instructor Carter also had the same guess, so he asked Allen: "Have you ever done a blood pedigree?"

Although he has already measured his blood lineage with the help of the "Glutton System", Allen still shook his head.

Students studying in this school, from the age of 12 to the age of 16, can take a blood pedigree test for free every year, focusing on the type and concentration of extraordinary blood.

These two indicators together determine a person's warlock talent.

After the age of 16, the blood is fixed, and the hope of continuing to grow is very small.

Allen had just turned 12 and hadn't had a blood test at school yet.

"You'd better test it, maybe there will be surprises." Instructor Carter urged.

Allen nodded and asked the instructor, "Mr. Carter, are you a warlock?"

"Sorry, I'm just a high-level apprentice, not a real warlock." The instructor was a little embarrassed, "The main reason is that my talent is not good enough, and I only awakened a kind of tauren blood."

"Tauren... you know, like orcs and ogres, they have brute strength, but unfortunately their mental strength is low and they are not good at magic."

"Most of the sorcerer apprentices with tauren blood can't awaken their spellcasting talents, so they can only settle for the next best thing and major in martial arts."

"The tauren blood is actually not bad."

Robin comforts Instructor Carter, whose self-esteem is injured.

"Our family's ancestral centaur blood is really not as good as a tauren."

"Instructor, you are an advanced apprentice after all, my father is only a elementary apprentice until now, he is not as good as you!"

Allen could hear it.

Robin's words were self-deprecating on the surface, but they were actually showing off.

In the lives of ordinary people, it is difficult to see real warlocks.

In this small town, the only sorcerer Allen knew was Aunt Sola, the principal, who was said to be a first-level "Natural Warlock". The mayor had to be respectful in front of her.

Under warlocks, elementary apprentices and advanced apprentices already have special skills that ordinary people cannot match, and they can't mix too badly.

For example, instructor Carter, whose status and salary in the school is second only to the principal, and is an idol in the minds of boys.

Robin's father, Mr. Hunter, is the most famous hunter in Quint Town and the current president of the hunting guild.

In contrast, Alan's parents who run the tavern, although their business is booming and their family is relatively well-off, are quite prestigious among the neighbors in the neighborhood, but their social status is not as good as that of Carter and Hunter.
