Chapter 99 Attack of the Ring Spirits

Chapter 99 Attack of the Ring Spirits
The sun had just set, and the sky was still blue-gray.

The bonfire made the faces of the dwarves red, and Mr. Baggins was preparing food. Hobbits are natural gourmets. Unfortunately, there were not many people present who could taste his cooking.

And eating under the watchful eye of a pack of hungry, blue-eyed dwarves can make even the best food taste dull, even scary.

"I haven't eaten for several days." Shalin slumped on the ground: "I'm so hungry! I suspect I'm going to starve to death."

"It's fine if we can starve to death, but we can't die at all." Sharda, who had the same hair color as her, was also listless.

After the initial novelty, the dwarves finally began to feel the pain of the curse.

"I really can't imagine that Tang Sen has been cursed since the first time we met." Shalin sighed, "He didn't show it at all, isn't he hungry?"

"Just get used to it." Tang Sen's voice came from the side: "Think of something else to divert your attention."

"Give me your big baby to play with for a while?" Shalin turned over and said, "Only Mithril can relieve my pain!"

"Unless there are enemies." Tang Sen said.

"You can't even see a bird in this misty mountain! Didn't it mean that there are Orcs everywhere!" Shalin wailed, "Those Orcs are not hiding from us, are they?"

"The last battle has frightened the Orcs." Thorin said in a deep voice, "It's not strange that they hide from us."

As soon as he finished speaking, the hobbit next to him shuddered and looked at the gloomy mountains: "Do you smell anything?"

"What smell?" asked the dwarves, who had lost their sense of smell through a curse.

"Stink—" the hobbit slapped his nose. "And cold."

The crowd suddenly quieted down.

Then, everyone could hear the faint sound of footsteps in addition to the crackling sound of burning firewood.

"Enemy attack!" Thorin stood up abruptly, quickly picking up his weapon.

The top of Gandalf's staff was shining brightly. At that moment, everyone finally saw clearly that in the shadows in the distance were densely packed Orcs. A giant orc that is several times taller.

They had been stalking in the shadows for a long time, and if it hadn't been for the hobbit's nose, they might not be seen until they were touched close by.

"It's the Pale Orc! Azog!"

Balin yelled.

As long as you are a dwarf in Durin, you will never forget the terrifying giant orc. It is a foreign race among the orcs, and it is taller than humans by nature. The head was severed, and Azog's name was inscribed in dwarven script, thus provoking the Battle of Moria.

In that battle, the pale Orc Azog was almost invincible, causing the dwarves to retreat steadily. In the end, Thorin stood up bravely, faced the Orc, and picked up a piece of oak when the shield was knocked into the air. As a shield, he successfully cut off Azog's arm and won the war.

The name Oak Shield also comes from this.

"We all thought it had lost too much blood and died!" Balin glanced at Sorin, who had a gloomy expression and firmly held the weapon in his hand: "It seems that it survived by luck."

"Didn't the Orcs be scared out of their wits?" cried Mr. Baggins in horror. "I can't see the slightest fear in their faces."

No one had the heart to answer the hobbit's words, and the dwarves quickly formed a battle formation using Thorin as a sharp knife.

But the Orcs didn't seem to have the intention to charge forward immediately, they just approached slowly, and Townsend could hear them communicating in the obscure Mordor language.

"That's them, those queer dwarves!"

"Surround them and don't let them escape!"

The dwarves could not understand the language of Mordor, but they could see the situation clearly.

"They must have something to rely on." Thorin said in a deep voice to Tang Sen: "Azog hasn't appeared for many years. Since it dared to appear in front of me, it must be prepared."

"However, although there are many Orcs here, there are not many Wargs. If any Orcs among them have experienced the battle before the Troll Grove, they will know that they cannot stop us."

"The purpose of the Orcs is not to defeat us." Gandalf kept holding the glowing staff, but his eyes were not on the Orcs, but looked at the darkness farther away.

"They're just there to hold us back."

"I can feel the evil breath, far more evil than Orc."

The sky has completely darkened, and the moon has risen from the west, hiding behind the clouds, revealing only a faint halo.

"No matter what is coming, smash them and it's over!" Shalin's face showed no panic at all, and she was even excited. She stretched out her hand to Tang Sen: "Quick! Take it out!"

Tang Sen took out the mithril giant hammer.

And the light of the staff in Gandalf's hand suddenly dimmed a little, as if there was a substantial darkness pressing over,
"What will appear next may not be an existence that can be smashed."

"Nazgul—"

The wizard suddenly chanted a hoarse word: "Emperors who have fallen into the nether world."

"Are you talking about the Ringwraiths?!" Sorin was horrified: "How is that possible? After the defeat of the Angmar Kingdom, all the Ringwraiths, including the Witch King of Angmar, have retreated to Mordor. How could they appear here? ?”

Nazgul, or Nazgul, is a terrifying existence. They were once human kings or heroes, and were given nine human rings, but under the control of the Supreme Lord of the Rings held by Sauron They were corrupted and became Sauron's loyal minions.

They lost their physical bodies and walked in the secluded world ever since. Ordinary people couldn't see their bodies, let alone hurt them.

Their natural fear was enough to make ordinary people tremble with fear, and the war horses fled. Tang Sen could see that the poor hobbit's face had begun to turn pale, and he had already felt the domain of the Ringwraiths.

"Since they appeared here, it must be because there is something they are interested in." Gandalf stared at Tang Sen: "A strange curse of immortality!"

"To be precise, it's not the ring spirits that are interested, but their masters," Tang Sen said.

"Is this in your plan too, Traveler?" demanded Gandalf.

"Maybe it will come sooner than I thought." Townsend did not deny Gandalf's speculation, but said:

"Wizard, are you afraid?"
