Chapter 52

The four people walked along the road without haste, ignoring the overseer in the sky, and letting the two clairvoyants who followed them do their best.

During the day, I traveled westward with the mentality of traveling in mountains and rivers, and practiced on my own at night.

Sanzang and his daughter, the king, seem to cherish the few moments they have. They sometimes practice swords and sometimes exchange Buddhism.

"This Tang Sanzang is too good, he is so tired of Sun Houzi all day long!"

"Brother, you think too much, he's talking about it, you don't see his cultivation base gradually rising."

"I think you are too naive..."

……

One day, the four of them walked to a verdant mountain.Sanzang reined in his horse's head, stopped and looked around.

In front of me, I can see the rosy clouds and clouds, the flocs and smoke, the flowing springs and waterfalls, the beautiful mountains and green peaks, just like a picture scroll.

"It's been almost a month, and I finally saw a large oasis!" Sanzang said with emotion.

"This place is not bad. There is a faint light of Buddha in the mountain. It seems that there is a temple!" The daughter king nodded, and she felt a kind of mysterious and mysterious aura. There are great figures with the Buddha's teachings leaving traces here.

"Go ahead and have a look, you should be able to find it!" Hearing this, Sanzang rode his horse forward. "In the desert of the Northwest, if you can encounter such a wonderful place, you should not miss it."

After walking for half a day, the four of them entered a place surrounded by white clouds. From a distance, there was a tall tower standing on the top of a rocky mountain.

The ancient pine under the tower has grown for many years, and the old vines on the stone wall are all over the cliff.

"Where is the monster coming from!"

Suddenly, a janitor novice appeared on the road ahead and questioned them.

"We are monks from the Tang Dynasty in the Eastern Land. We went to the Western Heaven to worship Buddha and ask for scriptures. We passed by here..." Sanzang replied.

"Not everyone comes to this place, you monsters, let's go!" The little monk teased.

At this time, an elderly monk came forward: "This place is the residence of the Buddha. Only eminent monks can come and stay here. Ordinary monks and mortals are not allowed to enter, let alone welcome monsters."

"We are all Buddhists, not monsters, let alone monsters. We should go in and pay homage when we pass by the Buddhist temple today." Sanzang stepped forward to salute, and said neither humble nor overbearing.

"This place does not allow idlers to enter." The monk saw that Sanzang claimed to be a Buddhist, his face softened a little, but he still refused directly, with a contemptuous tone.

The daughter king was a little angry: "What kind of person is considered an idler? What kind of person is considered an eminent monk?"

"Don't you think you are an eminent monk?" The little novice couldn't help laughing.

"Outside the mountain gate, there is a 33-step high platform set up by the Buddha's disciples when they lectured on Zen, which represents the highest Dharma. If any one of you four can climb up to the eighth step, you can barely pass the level and can enter." The monk said.

Hearing the words, Sanzang looked around and saw several ancient trees lying 30 meters ahead, with a high platform made of white marble next to it.

"In our monastery, only the abbot and a few old monks can walk up to half the height. Ordinary disciples can only go around and enter the monastery from the side path. You should go." The older monk still persuaded him to leave.

Both Bajie and Wujing were transformed by monkey hair, and they were not prepared to participate at all.

The daughter king shook off her arms, and wanted to pull Sanzang up in one breath.

But Sanzang was very stubborn. He insisted on giving it a try. He was also a holy monk of the Tang Dynasty. He was repeatedly despised by the people in front of him. He was inevitably a little angry and hard to calm down.

Therefore, holding a tin stick in his hand, he walked forward slowly.

One step, two steps, three steps...

Relying on his own Dharma, Sanzang only climbed three steps and found it very difficult. Then he chanted Buddhist scriptures and took another three steps with difficulty.

Next to him, the little novice sneered.

The monk also shook his head and smiled, reminding him seemingly kindly: "Come down, your aptitude is too poor, if you climb a few more steps, it will hurt your body!"

call!
Just as Sanzang was breaking out in cold sweat, strips of golden light overflowed from the nine-ringed tin rod!

Immediately, Sanzang's precious appearance was solemn, and he immediately felt extremely relaxed. He took another 8 steps in a row, making a total of 14 steps, which far exceeded the standard stated by the monk.

The little novice stared at the tin stick in Sanzang's hand in surprise.

The elder monk was also very surprised, he stared at the tin rod non-stop, and said: "It's nothing to use a spiritual weapon! But you can climb up and come in after all."

Sanzang wiped the sweat off his brow and walked down the steps.

"It's just relying on external things, what kind of ability is this." The little novice disdainful.

The daughter king looked at the high platform and seemed to feel a trace of profound Dharma. While groping, she walked up step by step until she finished walking.

Down below, the old monk was almost terrified, tongue-tied in shock, even he was only 10 steps above him, but this young woman was like walking in a garden.

He knew that he was meeting a real expert, so he knelt down directly, without the arrogance he had just now.

The little novice monk at the door was also trembling with shock, knelt down tremblingly, and kept chanting the Buddha's name, for fear that the master would punish him.

Thinking of his attitude just now, he wished he could slap himself a few times.

When Sanzang saw him, he shook his head in a funny way, and called his daughter, the king, to come down: "I'll just go up, and you can climb to the top again."

The daughter king smiled: "I have sensed a little bit of Buddhism, just go up and understand it."

The older monk was even more shocked when he heard that, he stepped forward respectfully, led the way himself, and invited them into the temple.

Sanzang left Bajie and Wujing behind and waited at the mountain gate, walking forward with his daughter King.

Along the way, the two of them saw all kinds of Buddha statues, and Sanzang paid homage to them one by one.

An elderly monk led the way, and no one blocked the way. The two soon came to the main hall.

Sanzang saw an eminent monk preaching Zen in the hall, so he took his daughter, the king, into the hall and sat down on a futon.

"You really, how dare you sit here?" A monk shouted suddenly, and as soon as the words fell, he shouted to the monk who was leading the way: "Huifen, what's the matter with you, it's fine to bring this kind of monk in, why not?" Let him sit here."

The monk who brought Sanzang into the temple was stunned for a moment, his eyes were a little frightened, he was silent for a while, and when he was about to defend himself, he heard another person scolding him harshly.

"Huifen, master asked you to lead someone to guard the mountain gate, but you led this kind of shabby monk into the temple. Is that how you work?"

The sound here was a bit loud, causing many monks to look sideways, and the atmosphere was very awkward.

"What's the matter? Can poor monks enter the hall?" Sanzang was a little puzzled and asked directly.

"Look at who I'm waiting for who dares to sit down, don't they all stand here respectfully and listen to the Dharma?" A monk looked contemptuous.

"It's not that someone is sitting here." The daughter king pointed forward.

"Can you two compare with them? They are all eminent monks in our Fowei Monastery!" A monk came and pushed Sanzang, trying to push him down.

"Where are you monks from? Why are you sitting here? Who invited you in?"

A monk sitting on a futon opened his eyes and asked.

"They boarded the 33rd-floor platform in front of the mountain gate, and the disciples led them in." Huifen finally had a chance to explain.
